If anyone is able to recommend a particular apartment or hotel they have stayed in for a month or more, which is reasonably close to the gay scene but reasonably quiet, I would so appreciate hearing from you. I won't be returning to Thailand for a few months, but there's no harm in being better prepared this time round.

Thanks for that. Yes, it is an easy walk, but I ended up spending a few nights at Quarter Silom as it was a lot closer. I enjoyed both hotels.

During my last stay in Thailand I stayed in over 10 hotels, for one reason or another. I was happy with all of them and managed to get excellent low season rates, but even still, the costs mount up. Could someone please recommend how to go about finding accommodation say on a monthly basis or making suggestions about where to stay in either Bangkok or Pattaya?

Talking apps, could someone please recommend some. I am also familiar with line, but not sure how to use it or how to find contacts on it.

I really loved Quarter Saladaeng. I like the set-up of the dining room and I enjoyed very satisfying buffet breakfasts. In fact when I stayed in a hotel out of town I would sometimes make a trip there for breakfast (200 baht). It is quite a distance from the bars and I can understand that some of the boys would insist on a taxi or motorbike, to save time if nothing else. May I ask if you had to pay at the reception to take a boy back to your room?

I found him to be genuine and caring. In fact all of the guys there seemed amenable. I had had only one previous experience with a Tawan bodybuilder, several years ago, but he seemed to be in it only for the money. I was much more satisfied this time round.

I know where you are coming from, Spoon. However, I think the bar might officially open at 8pm, but not sure. I know there are some guys there beforehand. I wanted to emphasise that he could have accompanied me without informing his boss and therefore he displayed integrity as well as loyalty and honesty. During casual conversation with him and the manager, I got the impression that they could be flexible with their hours. It would be interesting to know that if you arranged for a meet-up with one of the guys, say, at 1pm, whether they would adhere to the same protocol.

I wish to post an update on Tawan. I have spent quite a long time looking at many of the posts on this thread. Yes, it is in a much smaller venue now. I was there a couple of weeks ago. It was fairly full, but I guess it would be crowded in high season. I understand that there are 2 shows. Some of the guys are certainly bodybuilders, but there is a wide variety of body types. There are naked posing routines as well as fucking shows I was approached by one bodybuilder after his routine and he asked me if I wanted to 'off' him. I asked how much and he told me 2000 baht. He was one of the older guys, but that's what I like. I'm no spring chicken,but I work out regularly. The total cost was 500 baht entry (including one free drink), 500 'off' fee plus his 2000. He told me that one bodybuilder charges 5000 baht and also that there is a Mr Thailand working there. Now, to get to the crunch. He was completely honest. I had already paid him at the hotel, but for some reason I went to pay him again again and he reminded me I had already done so. He was also very concerned that he give me complete satisfaction, not just going through the motions. I love tongue kissing and he was very obliging. We arranged to meet at the nearby Mango Tree restaurant the next day at 6pm, then go to my hotel room. Surprisingly he took me to Tawan first, rather than going straight to the hotel, in order to pay the off fee, so that again reinforced his integrity. I offed him 4 nights running, the last time being the day before I returned home I asked for his phone number. I wasn't born yesterday and I know he's straight and that he will now be soliciting someone else, but I found him to be so refreshing and genuine that I'm thinking of sending him some money. He's getting older and told me he has had heart problems, confirmed by the manager. I wouldn't go overboard and would not expect anything in return. BTW I have only used barboys occasionally prior to this. There was always enough action at the renowned Babylon sauna ...alas, no more. Maybe a victim of covid Closing point. I believe you can go to a room, for which you pay a few hundred extra baht, but it pays to stay at a nearby hotel. You also avoid taxi fares and driving time, and will avoid the likelihood of being asked for extra money to get a taxi back.
