  1. I do not know the term "coyote dancer". What is this, and what is the difference in a 'coyote dancer' and a go-go boy? Thanks!
  2. Yes! This is just the right 'phrasing'.... an excellent way to look at it!!
  3. Nikom, thank you so much for all this very, very helpful information. Your comprehensive Burma reports really "fill in the picture" for those of us with interest in Burma. Thank you!
  4. Agreed, GT. I've also enjoyed the Art Gallery very much. Very relaxing setting. And Happy Sun {the owner you mentioned} and his boys can make you feel very welcome. It will become a regular hangout for me in my visits.
  5. I couldn't agree more, GT. PJ's is an excellent choice. And I do understand your quote {above}. Same same for me. Chiang Mai has so very much to offer, and in such a varied sort of way. Having seen it marginalized by some posters, I appreciate so much seeing your positive words for a Thailand gem. Thanks.
  6. Thanks much for all of this wonderful information about Chiang Mai, GT. I too am quite happy when I'm in Chiang Mai, and I now know that most all of my time in Thailand will be spent in there. Wonderful city and wonderful men! With all of your 'adventure activities' I wonder if you've come across a place called "The Flight of the Gibbon"? { http://www.treetopasia.com } They say in their advert, "high altitude rainforest adventure". I've not been to it, but I have it on my 'must do' list for my next trip in June.
  7. I agree, Bob. One2Come is at the top of the list in my book. Very good service, very pleasing young men, very comfortable house and rooms,....and bath/shower for each room.
  8. Yes, Korean Air has already added that non-stop route and the service is in place. That's the routing I will take on my next visit in June.
  9. Excellent report, fountainhall ! Thank you so much !!
  10. Pete, thanks for the very excellent overview of what Chiangmai has on offer. Even though I've visited before and expect eventually to move there, you remind me, and put into focus, what a wonderful spot Chiangmai is.
  11. Well.... let's see..... it only took you four minutes. I'd say that's rather bitchy...er, quick.
  12. Yes, Topman, he is rather quick on the draw.

    Hua Hin

Oh, but I have read many, many of Smiles' posts. And, I've read plenty of yours. That's why I saw the humor!

Insult? What insult? Seemed like just a humorous little comment to me. I laughed.
  15. I agree with all that you say, GaySacGuy. I've flown internationally and domestically through Suvanabhumi four times and have had only pleasant experiences. I've neither seen nor experienced any of the problems others write so vociferously about. The U.S. gateways?....now that's another story!
  16. Namjai is completely correct on this. The pilot follows tarmac markings and instructions from the outside, ground crew.
  17. His original post was pretty clear to me. Good job Ttiger! I'd say you see things rather clearly. Thanks for your very good and informative post!
  18. Very much agreed! After my second trip to Pattaya and realizing that it just wasn't my interest, I thought that I probably would not return to Thailand. Then I discovered Northern Thailand and it was a whole new ballgame for me. I agree with others who praise that region and, with my new friends from there, I'm looking forward to exploring further afield. The thought of anyone interested in promoting a "New Pattaya" is sad, indeed. One is enough!
  19. Very much agree, pete1969. Same same for me -- beautiful men there! My Thai Yi BF and I love going out and finding a hot guy to have fun with.
  20. I recently connected through Singapore and Changi on a trip to LOS. Changi has excellent facilities for transit passengers. The Transit Hotel there in the transit terminal is most convenient. It and the other facilities really make long layovers more pleasant than otherwise. But, I also agree with Bob. I like Suvarnabhumi and find it to be much better than what one often hears. The Thai Business/First Lounges are exceptional and have recently won some airline awards.
  21. No, Stef. The word he used was "affectation", not "affection". Look at it again. And, he's correct: Your use of "Dear" did seem to be an affectation.
  22. Can anyone help with transit information for Suvarnabhumi? (This may have been mentioned here before, but can't recall.) I will arrive at BKK on Air France, then connect to Thai Air for Chiang Mai. According to the Thai Air website, passengers connecting onward for Chiang Mai (and some other cities) will not clear Immigration and Customs at BKK, but rather at the destination. I don't know if this is only for passengers ticketed from their original destination on Thai Air, or all airlines. I've heard now that the practice has discontinued and all arriving international passengers must claim luggage, clear Immigration/Customs, and then re-check for the domestic flight. Does anyone have any recent experiences that could offer clarification? Thanks.
  23. I think this is an excellent point about sanctions, TeePee. And, have sanctions ever worked? There must be other paths.
  24. The US may feel that it has the right, but it has no such "duty" whatsoever to speak out to Thailand or any other government or its people. The lose of any 'moral authority' that the US has suffered has rendered its views as useless and mostly unwanted. And as for infringement of civil liberties and oppression, those are qualities that I feel daily here in a rapid degeneration of the American society primarily at the hands of our own religious fundamentalists. PattayaMale is right on in his views.... including his plea for a spell checker! Yes GB, I know, I know.... we could write it out in a word processor, run the spell checker then post; or we could download that other web browser; or..., we could be provided a spell checker here on the board.
  25. Thanks for the info fellows. That is good news, topmanb. Yes, we do wish him well.
