Jackhammer has died.

I learned while browsing in the "other place" that a long time poster and frequent participant in early Hooville events has died.

I met Jackhammer on several occasions and found him to be a very likable fellow. We had our differences but on the rare occasion when I would see him in public he was always civil towards me.

RIP Jackhammer http://www.message-forum.net/showthread.php?103445-Jackhammer-is-no-longer-with-us

Very sad news indeed. He had mentioned his illness, but it sounded like he was on the mend. He brought much laughter to Daddy's via 'Friday Funnies'. As I recall he always honored the men and women of the armed services. A noble gesture. May he find peace in a better place.

Yes, I read this over at the other site. they lost 2 members this week, Mr Hammer and FosterChow.

Very said, especially from what I remember they were both clever, interesting and nice gentlemen...

Both had ongoing health issues, so I hope they are at peace now and in a much Bettter place.

We are ALL only visiting this Universe, and are given a finite amount of time. The goal is to make the most of it in the best of health, and when our time comes, leave a lasting impression. (although Grandmas impression Wont be that great !)

May both of those fine gentlemen R.I.P. :bye: ,

I too read this "over there". I had the pleasure of meeting Jackhammer several years ago when I made my one trip to the Palm Springs Weekend. A few months later, Jackhammer and Oliver came thru Phoenix and we met up again. He was a great, down to earth guy.

I am really sorry to hear this! Around 2002 or so jackhammer and I started corresponding thru the Hooboy site and since we were both in SoCal decided to meet up for dinner, the first time he didn't show, cancelled at the last minute as he was nervous about it. The second time we met had a nice dinner but he was not sure about going to Numbers after dinner. The third time I got him into Numbers! and then he started to come out into his own :phone: He made a trip to NYC and met members there and I think ended up with his first escort. in 2004 I got him to book a trip to Rio, he eventually made I think 4 trips there. He was a gentleman and nice guy!

...I hope the others from our early get-togethers are still going strong!

You, Townie, Expat, Beguiled and I are here from the original Hooboy dinner group of regulars, my memory is going so can't remember any other regulars that I am forgetting...

This is so sad and tragic. I also read about this on the "other" site, and then here. I first met Jackhammer at an initial LA Hooboy dinner at the now defunct Numbers. This is where I first met Tomcal, Jackhammer and many other members. As I recall there was about 10-12 members. I had the pleasure of getting to know Jackhammer. First at some of these LA Hooboy gatherings, and then sometimes just the two of us would meet up for lunch or dinner at various venues around town. Also met up with him in Rio a couple of times as are paths crossed..........

He was one of the good guys. The last time I saw him (a few short years ago), we met at Canter's Deli in LA for lunch - he had just survived his initial bout of cancer, treatment, etc. Looked a little leaner, but good - and his prognosis seemed to be positive. I know thru his postings that he struggled off and on with his illness these past few years.

I am heartbroken to hear this news, and thinking long and hard on why we did not stay in touch these past few years. Rest In Peace.

I haven't visited this site for a while - too many personal priorities.

But, I'm so sad to hear that we've lost both Jackhammer and FosterChow. I enjoyed reading their posts and personally appreciated Jackhammer's salute to the vets.
