I don’t know where you live @wdrn50 but I think you will be exceptionally lucky to visit Spain in September. New cases of Covid-19 infection are rising rapidly in Spain, and various parts of Spain have some sort of lockdown in force.

I think it's just Catalonia (Barcelona) that has the uptick isn't it?  I see all bars in Barcelona are closed again. Somehow I bet Thermas is open though. And I did see in the Guardian yesterday about the UK suddenly requiring all Brits coming back from Spanish vacations to quarantine for 2 weeks.  lol, bet there are some pissed Brits.

We need to get open travel with quick free tests to enter. So much more sense (not that that matters).

Its OK to visit - flights still going and returning - its just the 2 week quarantine when you get back. Not such a problem for me and I wont be using a hotel while out there. Hopefully will be OK as long as no blocks on travel. It is the North thats currently the problem and down to Madrid. I'm hoping still some fun to be had but I know its dodgy.

Not so @tassojunior As of today, there are increased cases in Aragon and Navarre too. The surge in cases in Barcelona has been concentrated among people in their 20s as socialising resumed rapidly when the relaxations were made a few weeks ago. In Barcelona now, there is in essence a 2nd lockdown as you may only leave your house/apartment for essential reasons (that are specified); failure to obey carries large fines.

I read that home confinement in Barcelona is strongly encouraged yet voluntary, but there are other specific rules that are subject to fines. As such, Thermas is now open 12:00-0:00 and by appointment only, presumably to comply with gathering and capacity regulations.

Well, if we got Thermas, Villa Gianni and Paragonya all open, that's something. The boys are hungry and stir crazy as we are.

My theory is that eventually everyplace gets hit with a surge where the most vulnerable get hit hard. In the US NYC is open but no further surge while places that haven't been hit before like Utah, Idaho, Montana, Tennessee, etc are getting their surge now. But once that's over later upticks are manageable. California, Florida and Arizona seem to be beginning to flatten their recent surge. I fully expected Europe to get a surge when it reopened  everything 100% July 1 (schools, bars, everything), but so far it's just an uptick. Nothing like it's 1st surge and nothing like the surge in the US the past month. I think the NY model will hold for areas already hit bad. Hopefully winter doesn't cause a whole new wave before there's a vaccine and treatment.

Saskatchewan is trending like Spain, adjusted for population size. A global region that was already hit extremely hard is understandably going to apply strict measures in an attempt to bypass a repeat of earlier catastrophic and exhausting proportions.
