Lifelong Republican, Chris Krebs, appointed by the Orange Orangutan and then fired by the Orange Orangutan, gave his first TV interview on 60 Minutes yesterday, post firing. I'm confident most of the Trump cult did not see the interview because they're still hurt and angry at the way poor, old, petite Jew, Leslie Stahl, treated their dear FAILED leader. I'm sure Stahl is somehow related to Alinsky, since all Jews look alike.

There's two theories about what happens now.

Georgia will be a good initial indicator of how this works.  Will he be able to turn people out when he doesn't have the daily ability to throw red meat to his base and agitate them?  More likely, I think he'll handicap the party.  He's already improved Stacey Abram's chances of taking out Brian Kemp in 2022.  Republicans will have to hear all that as background noise.  Meanwhile, Biden will turn out to NOT be senile or socialist.  Who knew?  When he starts pushing policies people like as laws it will be a challenge for Republicans to simply oppose things 2 in 3 Americans want - help to states and counties who don't want to fire cops and nurses, student debt relief, a public option, a path to citizenship for DREAMers.  

I'd rather have the Republicans move on and nominate someone like John Kasich or Larry Hogan or Tim Scott in 2024.  But my bet is that Trump will be the gift that keeps giving to Democrats.

I didn't need Trump to feel respect for Kasich or Hogan or Scott, even if I disagree with much of what they think as Republicans.  One thing this process is doing is paving the way for a return to bipartisan behavior on the part of people who just don't want to be held hostage anymore.

Thanks for posting that 60 minutes video @RockHardNYC.  The most interesting part was watching his face.  The hurt and anger and mounting indignation about having his beliefs and work trashed was obvious.  I have to imagine there are a lot of Republicans that feel that way.  This split between principle and paranoia - the Republican Party and the Trump Party - is going to be there for a long time.

I found it fascinating, too. It appears he's a man of strong integrity and conviction - "country before party" - and there he is out in public, forced to respond to what an asshole "boss" did to his hard work and reputation. I was sure the guy was holding back tears.

Frankly, it reminded me of some dark years I spent in corporate. I think any executive from corporate could relate to Krebs' situation. I sometimes had bosses who felt it was necessary to take credit for my work, or worse, politically necessary to not support my ideas for a project, even though it would mean settling for an inferior idea. It didn't take me very long to see the writing on the wall. If I was going to continue loving what I do for work, I needed to be my own boss, beholden to no one but my own client. There is nothing more gratifying in life than controlling your own destiny. 

Krebs is smart, handsome, and relatively young. I have a feeling his future is much brighter than Trump's.

Consider that Trump's brain may already be declining slowly into dementia (as his father did).  Imagine how Republicans will handle it, how in 3 years Trump sounds more and more crazy.  Can Rebubs speak up if his base is still driven to support by Fox news and OAN fanning the MAGA flames?  Or will the Party continue to roll the dice and stick with their status quo?

He'd be doing the Rebubs a favor, but I doubt his physical body will cooperate and decline into death at the rate is brain will.

Hillary Clinton lost a far closer race than Trump. She collected three million votes more than Trump. She lost the electoral college because of razor-thin wins by Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. She didn’t stamp her feet and whine, as Trump is doing now. She didn’t demand a recount in the states she lost. She conceded graciously. She called Trump and congratulated him on election night. She said in her concession speech the next day that one of the hallmarks of American democracy is the peaceful transfer of power. That’s class.

The transition has begun. Biden is choosing his cabinet. Trump has not conceded, despite the fact that he clearly lost the electoral college and the popular vote. He is still sending Rudy Guiliani out to make ludicrous claims about fraud. Trump’s lawsuits have been laughed out of federal and state courts over 30 times.

Trump and his personal lawyers are a national disgrace, as Chris Christie said. They not only are pursuing baseless claims, they are undermining our democracy and making us an international laughing stock. So are the leaders of the Republican Party, who have encouraged Trump in his efforts to undermine the 2020 election. Nothing shames the Republican sycophants, not even when the federal government’s cyber security administrator was fired by Trump for telling a simple truth: the 2020 election was the most secure, free, and fair election in history.

Of course it's pointless to compare a "Clinton" to a Republican. The Clinton HATE was always irrational and hypocritical. The most important and dangerous point you make: the Republicans have no shame. Without shame, you can do whatever you want with no conscience and/or fear of retribution. A 2-party democracy cannot survive if one party has no shame and does not suffer the deserved consequences.

Trump isn't the only problem now. It's also the 7+ million who voted for him in spite of everything that's wrong with him and this country. Bad news.

I am somewhat convinced that Trump shows no class because he is psychotic. 

But also, his latest conspiracy initiative, election fraud, is helping rake in millions of dollars in donations to an initiative that is reported to be a little bit soft on how the money will be spent.  One might not be surprised how Trump would lean into one final big grift while in the White House, keeping the money rolling in until inauguration day when he will skip the swearing in and instead officially announce his 2024 campaign.

Similarly, Matt Braynard, a former Trump operative, was on Lou Dobbs last night pumping up his Voter Integrity Project, spewing false claims how dead people voted for Biden, while providing no evidence.  In the meantime, he has collected big money donations but provided no evidence how he is using the money., reported by Daily Beast.

Braynard seems to be a right wing fanatic based on a Mother Jones article.  Lou Dobbs is an old time birther who will say anything for ratings, IMO, so putting Braynard on his show last night was no surprise.   

Big picture is the Trump base continues to be riled up and squeezed for every last drop of money they can send.  

Over the years, whether it is Trump's private con games, or his presidential rip offs, the media doesn't seem to give this side of the equation much reporting.  Perhaps, NY state will help change that next year.

This article helps firm up the numbers.  Of the $200+ million raised so far, very little of it is being spent on the lawsuits.  Somewhere I read $6 million.  Most of it is going into Trump's new PAC, and much of that is being shared with the RNC.  He's by far the Republicans' best fundraiser.

So, as long as the lawsuits bring in the money, most Republicans will support them and it makes no difference that they're crazy.

That is, the lawsuits are crazy.  The Republicans are crazy like a fox.

And, ironically, it was Fox that did the original reporting on the scheme.

How crazy is that?
