Anyway is it quieter than other low seasons or just the same ?

I would say that it is the quietest low season since covid - from the gay ghetto point of view.

There are other members in our forum who recently posted that some areas over in Pattaya City (around Terminal 21) were very busy.

I would agree with the above statistics that he posted - especially when you move around to the various parts of Pattaya.  In the central and northern parts of Pattaya city you definitely see and feel the presence of Chinese tourists.

 

However, I would say that the Russians are more concentrated in the Phratamnak neighborhood on soi 7 - as the primary language on the signage on that street is in Russian and soi 7 ends at what I believe is the largest Russian night market in Pattaya:

Yes strange that sometimes low season can be busy at times 

I recall last October not being able to get a room at the Zing hotel for a few nights as they were all booked out ,yet everyone was saying how quiet it was 😏

And then I ended up at the Sansuk Sauna 🏳️‍🌈 where I was gangbanged by over 12 guys in two hours 🥒🍑

I was practically raped by this group of young 18 to 24yo irish🇮🇪 guys ,I think they were a ⚽ team 

I don't want to get into pedantics but I was on my back in the sauna area , legs over my head , when they just kept cumming ,both literally and physically ( if that's the right word )

OD is right about those Youtube "why I now hate Thailand" clips. Very tiresome. But the absence of tourists is noticeable....an old masseur mate still on the scene claims it to be worst period he'd seen in the nine years he's been working.  

Two days ago we ate in my favoured restaurant, Pon's, in Terminal 21- forgive me if you've already read this in another forum-  and it was almost full at 1700.The mall as a whole was heaving with customers. 

But here's the rub; I seemed to be the only non-Asian customer there. My partner claimed to have spotted another falang in a restaurant...but I didn't.

As our taxi took us back along Beach Road, we reminisced about our first trips to Pattaya....1995 for me, 2001  for him....and how we were astonished by a dizzying array of lady bars from the Dusit  to Walking street, and little else.

All but a couple have been replaced  by high-end hotels and restaurants.  And they are overwhelmingly for Asian visitors. As we approached the rad to Jomtien, the scene was darker, quieter , more down-market, a remnant of the old Pattaya. but without the crowds.

That list entitled "Biggest Spending Tourists in Thailand"  looks questionable. At $260 a day (8,320 baht), that seems kind of low for the average of the biggest spenders by country.  I guess they didn't look at either gay or straight tourists who frequent the nightlife, and partake in offing boys (or bar fining bar girls), or indulging in happy ending massages.

I know I certainly spend more that amount per day when I'm in Bangkok.  Just my non-luxury Bangkok hotel room alone would be at least one third of that $260, if not more.  I suspect there are quite a few board members that exceed that daily spend budget when visiting Bangkok as a tourist.  After the cost of a hotel room, meals, drinks in bars, off fees or massage parlor fees, tips, shopping, transportation, etc, I would have to cut back to spend only $260 per day in total.

Given that those high rollers on that list (except Hong Kong and Brunei) are from Middle Eastern countries, I don't believe they are imbibing in alcohol, and buying 500 baht drinks in boy bars.  It looks like Thai Alpha, the maker of this list is using some skewed data.  Perhaps they meant to say how much tourists from those countries spend per day in Siam Paragon Mall.

We talk about how expensive it is to off certain boys such as models.  Our straight brothers in most cases are paying much higher prices to "bar fine" women from bars than we pay to "off" boys.  

According to an internet search, for straight bars:

A "bar fine" is the fee paid directly to the venue to compensate the establishment for allowing a hostess, dancer, or model to leave her shift early. It does not include the separate tips or fees negotiated independently with the companion.

Standard Beer Bars / Patpong:  Fines generally stay on the lower end, hovering between 700 THB and 1,200 THB.

Soi Cowboy & Nana Plaza: Average Go-Go bar fines sit firmly between 1,000 THB and 2,500 THB. 

Top-tier, highly popular clubs frequently charge premium rates of 3,000 THB to 4,000 THB, especially earlier in the evening.

I just read an article on Thaiger about the very low occupancy this year, with some hotels not even breaking even. So it is a very good time to come, not only to support the Pattaya economy, but also hopefully to get  good accommodation deals 

I would have assumed that with the recent Gay Pride event in Pattaya that many of the hotels preferred by gays would have been booked out. I stayed in Sansuk for a couple of nights at that time and I did not notice many guests there. And I must put in a plug for the Sansuk guesthouse. It is reasonably priced, especially if you want just a basic room. I had always imagined it to be well off the beaten track, but you can get off the songteaw and it's just a short walk to the hotel.

As a hotel guest you also have free acces to the pool and sauna?

A basic room is 750 baht. If you pay 900 baht, you get free access to the sauna as well as a basic breakfast.

When I was booking I found it was just as cheap to pay cash at the hotel and they appreciated not having to pay the commission to Agoda. 

It's in a quiet location, but because there are condos nearby, there are 3 convenience stores as well as bars and cafes within spitting distance. There was a very good juice kiosk outside 7-11. Also I got excellent service and tasty food from an outdoor cafe just opposite the little pharmacy. I think the manager might have been French, but with Thai staff.

The Sansuk website will give you all the information you require.

And isn't it great to have a gay hotel where the accommodation is so reasonably priced?

Paytaya news sources are reporting a very low season for this year 2026.

I stayed at Zing Resort and Spa earlier this year. I had stayed there previously, but this time I could hear horrendously loud music until 4 o'clock in the morning. So I asked if I could change rooms for the next night, but they apologetically told me that they were fully booked. However, as fortune would have it, the bars were closed that night because of the election, so I was able to make up for lost sleep.

I had requested a quiet room, but the volume of the music that night must surely have been heard in every room.

Yes , that comes from the live band music  bar next door to the Zing 🎸🎸

I stayed in The Venue  and that was quite good ,had the balcony at the front overlooking the complex where I was Fxcked by two African guys with a huge audience of farangs and Thai boys watching from down below 👀👁️

Amazingly as I was getting hammered  🔨my head was hanging over the balcony looking down at Peters bar , and I kept thinking who the F is Peter?

Daddy, whom you are kidding ? balconies at Venue are to small to fit man of size like you  , not to mention 2 African guys who may be diminutive but certainly their cocks ain't.

Speaking about Venue, I actually had  some time ago noise problem seeping from bars below and it was so annoying that I went  to one of bars below to have a drink. Waiter who brought me my beer asked " with whom you are sleeping ?", how I came to smart response" with you" I don't know but this is exactly what happened. So excessive noise , if handled properly can bring own benefits.

for new readers I repeat that now my favorite Pattaya hotel is Zing, half way between Pattaya and Jomtien , on the main road , easy to get to from either end . Cheap, two pools and good breakfast for 200 baht

Yes I did stay in your other one last visit ,the purple 🟣 one ,didn't like it at all 

Rooms were small , the swimming pool taken up by eastern Europeans / Russians who insisted on talking on their mobile phones so we could ALL hear their conversation, not that it mattered I couldn't understand anyway !

But I said to the front desk when I was leaving , I shouldn't have to put up with this ....I'm a VIP 

But no never again with that Zing , I prefer the one in the JC
