I think in long distance trains seat reservation is included and if there are no seats available , no tickets will be sold fort that train. I learned that hard way while showing in the station hoping to buy a ticket ( yes , to Aytuthaya) and go and it turned that we ( trip was with other member and his boy)need to wait 1 n hr for the next train.
