  1. exactly, more than one line and nobody will bother to read unless pointed to
  2. They do but not sure horny and salivating customers pay due attention. You right about Japanese bar and this may be source of misunderstanding as some customers familiar with Japanese system may assume in Thailand is the same whatever price is quoted. They may have their own sources, for sure mainland Chinese do as I came across of some of their forums while combing internet. But the same like with our resources , there are many who are not even aware about their existence or if they do, they don't bother to visit I rarely engage mamasans preferring to wave boy over and deal with him myself but sometimes is necessary of just useful to enlist mamasan as well. They may embellish the truth but rarely they outright lie , if only to avoid future problems with unhappy customer. Toy Boys are not my primary destination but from few members I heard the same, boys are catching up with Bangkok and expect 2000 short time, which as you pointing out , for Pattaya is generous and probably can be bargained down as for Nice Boys I agree with your assessment of boys but you bit harsh about customers. One thing is sure , no noisy screaming Asian girls there (so far?) , everybody is there for the same kind of entertainment. I do. I was also reluctant to leave Bangkok's charms for first few trips but then I braved myself and I'm happy I did. My first impression was not even that great but it grew on me with subsequent visits. Even chalked one of my trips as spent more in Pattaya than in Bangkok. My problem with Pattaya is that not being sun and sand person I have problem to make my daytimes interesting there. No problem to go straight away as there's quite frequent bus taking you straight from airport to Jomtien in less then 2 hrs. There is only short walk to Complex bars and hotels from there. Its also great way to go from Pattaya to Bangkok , I always take airport but and from airport train to the center. Much better option than Ekkamai buses from/to North Pattaya bus station as it beats city traffic. Once I managed to amaze Pattaya regular on the bus. He asked me what time is my flight and when I said I'm just going to Bangkok that way he said " great idea , it never crossed my mind" so sometimes simple solutions as still hidden in broad daylight.
  3. good idea , used alredy by many massage places where minimum tip is spelled clearly and pointed out to customers
  4. I always say I have my doubts how really straight are those "straight" guys presenting themselves in boy bars and spas
  5. at least they have something to show for their troubles
  6. Perhaps you should try to put together your own report before making such uncharitable, to put it mildly , comment. Sure , reports are of varied quality but also readers expectation may be different, some may be looking for juicy details, others for practical leads about accommodation, where to go, to eat or how organize their vacation day. Some like short , up to a point stories , other may be looking for longer narratives but one thing is sure : we should be grateful that members are taking their time and effort to put something together for us. Specially hats off for those who take chunk from their vacation time to update us on their adventures in almost real time. Tedious is process of writing report , not easily avoidable treat, even if doubtful of reading it. fully agree with this part though
  7. in reality what other country has boy gogos of similar variety ? Mamasan was sensible by explaining whole process as in fact it's quite possible for novice in Thailand , not knowing prices , to assume that price quoted includes everything. This is a case in Japan I understand but of course not 500. Quite possible Toy Boy incident in report above was result of such false assumption One of massage guys I know recently had misfortune of having two Chinese customers in one day and they both refused to tip him claiming that massage fees should include everything. He says they were explained all , just played cheap trick. Poor boy, two assholes in one day on the table! sorry , double quote by mistake then go next time , If you don't you will never know doesn't matter how many reports you will read and how many clips on YouTube you will watch. Nice Boys is a must to visit IMHO Depending of how many days you will be there but I would say make sure you visit both areas. Not that it's very far, in 10-15 minutes by motorsai taxi you will be in Jomtien and walk from Boyztown to Sunee is even less then that. In Sunee you have only 2 go-gos, Winners and Nice Boys so easily you can visit 2 areas on one night. Second round in Boyztown is also good idea as there may be some pickings you missed on your first visit because of their absence.
  8. I almost exclusively off long time and always fix this part in the venue but unfortunately several times I had the same problems with excuses to go early. I guess some promise LT afraid if they don't agree they don't get a deal but still I think it's very unfair, specially when I offed guy in the past and he knows what he is up to. Some excuses are outright idiotic - wrong parking of motorsai, perennial " my friend lost a key", need to move or visit in hospital etc. I don't fight with them over that and let them go usually cutting their tip accordingly but next time they try to extract tip, drink or an off I tell them bluntly no and why not. In short, I cross them from future engagements but of course few exceptions apply if I have soft spot for them. ............. I feel your pain. Some boys are possessive indeed. I have masseur in soi 6 whom I like quite a lot but because of this constant pestering he is kind of forcing me to the the same- to pick up alternative route to avoid passing by his shop and it's not good for the boy and the soi if walking ATM is bypassing whole section of it.
  9. not really, specially when you take their show into consideration, much more progressive than all other bars combined. And no, guys on the stage are not in jeans or even boxers.
  10. after visiting few years ago Bang Melea temple in early morning with me and two Chinese loads of buses present , I'm not surprised. Good that temple was already ruined, otherwise would not likely survive that attack. I'm not saying it was representative of how Chinese behave, far from it but still what I saw was bordering on scary. At least after giving up on ruins they were buying trinkets at local market.
  11. I think I like 38 the best
  12. waiting for your word abut last trip impatiently. Do they still have that desk and guard by elevator in Tarntawan where they check ID of visitors, even in day time?
  13. When I was planning my first and so far only Sept trip back in 2017 several members warned me ' pack your umbrella". It was not bad abut I needed it few times. I find twinks at Tawan very refreshing, at one visit I counted at least 5 and I must say I like them even if twinks are not really my territory. Is good to have a choice. For bar it's good idea as it broadens clients base. While I agree location of Quarter Silom is close to perfect, central yet bit hidden. I'm not big fan myself as I find rooms bit cramped for a price. But they are well appointed and organized and very modern so it may satisfy many. The same I can say about Icon Styles on Silom between Convent and soi 3
  14. not entirely speculation. last year in Mexico I was witness of discussion between American tourists who joined tour I joined too. I and some Americans bought it locally for about 60 $, other Americans bought it before they left through their travel office back in States and they paid almost twice. So half of their tour money never left USA presumably. From my travels I know that by no means this is unique situation, opposite, it's how it works. It's why guides are full of advices ' buy this or that tour / trek locally , do not prepay" . Chinese may be stingy in bars, massages or restaurants but since they like to show off, they may be shopping more hence, higher spending.
  15. no idea but one I use always is responded to very fast good that you guys managed before midnight because after midnight prohibition starts until 11 and then again between 2 and 5
  16. better than other way arround thank you for report, fun reading but I suspect also fun writing
  17. very good point !
  18. if he is true professional he should know without asking
  19. sometimes outright unpleasant on narrow side streets like sala Daeng, piles there attracts so many rats that it may be hard not to step on one. Better cross the street. But it's not tourist generated trash
  20. you not alone , I have also 70 and 80 baht notes. All of them are so called non-circulating legal tender commemorative notes
  21. my question exactly, obviously he did not strangle you if you live to tell the tale, Hope you have nice breakfast in the morning. I'm surprised for lack of response from Jey Spa, me experience with them is they respond almost immediately and I contacted them quite a few times, always very fast and up to the point. Perhaps regular guy had day off or something
  22. I guess North Korea , Somalia and Afghanistan don't have problems with noisy and messy tourists. Yes , tourists are binging mess and crowds but also money with them. It's enough just to look back to summer 2020 to see how world looks like without those messy hordes.
  23. let's see how it will work, hope we will be surprised
  24. no and neither I'm selfish, I always think about the others. What made you thinking I have myself in mind? poor, needy and senior? Me?
