As for me coming for Songkran is highly unlikely although I realize at one point I should experience it. For now I need to pass it as April is too hot, I don't like crowds (Loy Krathong at Saphan Taksin BTS in 2013 was kind of scary experience for me) and work wise it's most lucrative part of year. no, while I like LT, can easily see why others don't - wanting good night sleep or worrying about security with stranger in the room. For me LT is most humanitarian way of making sure I have guy beside first thing in the morning rather than say, making boy waking up at 5 am and travelling to my hotel at wee hours.
