Day 12, part 1 After Phet left I returned to still warm bed and slept soundly till almost noon. Nothing wrong with that as one of my few Thailand problems is self-inflicted sleep deprivation but after 2 nights, true to form I’m moving hotels again so barely had enough time to gather my goods before reception called and reminded me that I should release room. This time I marched to D’Varee Baily Silom , just beside DJ Station steps from everywhere, one of those places location can’t be beaten. I never slept there but actually was inside few years ago when my friend Xiluzer stay there and remembered that some rooms are windowless. I did not expect anything better as I booked cheapest room and true to form I got room without the view. Bit claustrophobic but otherwise well appointed and very modern so no complains although I missed spaciousness of my previous digs this trip at Copa, The Venue, Ambiance , Classroom and Baan Silom but for just one night ( tomorrow I will leave just before midnight so took room for 2 nights for convenience ) it was nice to try something new. After settling in I relized that it’s almost 1 p.m. and I did not eat anything since last evening’s Mango Tree feast but Guardian Angel had another plans for me. Passing by mouth of soi 4 few times among boys from Nakarat massage trying to sell their his massage skils I noticed pretty faced and well muscled boy and now , seeing he is there I couldn’t pass an opportunity. Not particularly cheap , 380 with draft beer but very tasty , I feel I add that restaurant to my 4 obligatory food stops in Thailand. Had some internet business to take care of so went to café beside Silom Complex and then , energized by such good massage with Art got that moment of enlightenment, jumped on BTS and went to My Hero. I had privilege to be one of last customers of old Hero on their closing day and one of first when location opened as My Hero and was curious how it is now. surely I agree although like with any other purchase sometimes , mercifully rarely, we don't get what we expect but that's the risk of dealing with real people who may have their own priorities. My destination today is Bank of Thailand Museum and learning center by Rama 8 bridge , recently opened in former banknote printing facilities across the street from another Bank of Thailand Museum in old place – that one I visited in Sept last year. There’s a bit of walk from pier through maze of sois but that one of pleasures of vacationing - no rush exploring here and there. There are guided tours but unfortunately last one already departed and next one was scheduled in 2.5 hrs but somehow I persuaded them to let me in ( there’s no admission fee ) and even got a bit of guided tour by nice lady who showed me around , explained how security printing of banknotes works , showed me presses still loaded with sheets of banknotes, proudly showed me 500 baht note from series 11 emission ( 1975 on to 1988 ), first entirely designed and produced by Thais and even explained how to get free 2 hr internet access in the library. Very pleasant mid-day time in air conditioned and not crowded environment. Returned using the same boat but not before leisurely wandering through Bangalampu’s sois and river bank. Before 5 parked myself in front of hotel, waiting for Boonthon who arrived on time for short but intensive session of admiration of his carefully sculpted muscled body and after dark, around 7 we both felt a bit of hunger (again , other than few ice creams from 7/11 I did not eat anything since breakfast ). Placed our orders for three Thai treats – can’t recall what it was because I really was hungry but it arrived fast , portions were generous and served in style – some stew with mango was served in drilled ananas. In short very, very fine dining experience, perhaps none of us needed such opulence but it was nice to see , try and taste. Bill was tasteful as well -1629 baht , 129 more than my first long time at The Venue, Jomtien earlier this trip cost me but it was worth a try. Even if service charge was included in the bill boy reminded me to leave some tip to server so another 100 baht was added. Boonthon went to his bar with mission to remind Phet tonight is his turn to put me to a sleep as yesterday’s draw loser and I wandered through Patpong back and forth , it was almost 9 p.m. when I got that urge to go to Senso and see if M will be there. Quite a late but I was relieved to see sign on the door they are opened till 11 so I entered just to see smiling M right in front of me. Other boys did not stand a chance as I motioned to him we will go upstairs immediately. I did good deed as it turned out today was extremely slow day , me at that late hour being their second only client. We were talking about chemistry in the tread recently and sure we had one with M. I'm not so sure, guys full of self confidence tend to steer encounter to their liking not mine. Happen rarely but it does and I wonder then who is in charge of agenda. It's why I like straights, they usually are in business for money and tend to stick to their side of bargain. Stars are good to look at in the bar but often due to their popularity tend to skip on services and , what is important to me, on time as well. Exception worth mentioning is Mekhin , former star of Tawan , now at Jupiter who was surprisingly amendable and easy going and that is impression few others had about him as well. As for walks I tend to be liberal and understand that sometimes boys don't really want to be seen with farang age of their grandfather. Another memorable walk mention already in my reports was with another Tawan boy who asked to go to Raya on another side of Suriowong. On his way he was stopped by at least 3 if not 5 people for a brief chat so I kind of understood why.

Day 10 I was sleeping quite good, well deserved considering excesses of last few days, late breakfast at KISS again, visit to internet café in soi 13 ( I hate typing on my tablet and had some internet stuff to catch up with ) , quick packing – travelling light come handy. Short walk to baht bus station ,one just departed so I was first in next one and it took only 4 minutes to fill it up and we were on our way. Arrived at Jomtien’s airport bus station with plenty of time ahead before departure on my 1 p.m. bus so settled in nearby bar over beer to kill time and actually finish reading my magazine I started on the plane 10 day ago. Before 3 we were at Swampy , I exchanged last money at one of Air link exchange counters – best exchange rates are to be had there , rivalling those at Silom and Suriwong. From now on I need to relay on cash withdrawal from ATM, not an attractive option considering that Thai banks are charging 220 per withdrawal and by bank adds another 125 at their end but pleasures of just being in Thailand justify such an excesses. Unfortunately for myself I have self-imposed limit of 500 $ daily withdrawal which adds to the costs but I made it with bank just in case, just in case. When travel I use strictly cash , very rarely credit cards because I fund budgeting and expenses control easier that way. I like cargo shirts and pants with many pockets and have a system of distributing money among them so when whoring and bar hopping I more or less know how much I have on me and if I feel I’m short I can quickly assess where my money went. I know I’m repeating myself but I do this for sake of new readers who may find my approach useful or wasteful, up to them. Anyways for new arrivals – if you arrive during day time never exchange money in the airport until you actually reach train station in the basement where are several booth with , as I said very good and competitive exchange rates . At night unfortunately if you need cash you need to use airport booth, good news being that all of them have the same rate so no need to shop and difference in rete , while visible is not disastrous i.e. 30 baht for USD in the airport and about 32 in the basement at train station. 200 baht shortage on 100 USD while can be felt is not taking skin alive without anesthetics like some airports in more developed world offer. Weather at airport was sunny but on approach to the city we could see that center is enveloped in very dark cloud, very dramatic view from as close as Hua Mak station, last sunny. Then as expected we entered deluge but thanks to new walkway at Makkasan station I managed to walk dry to the MRT / underground / and when at Silom station rain started to ease up. My Bangkok hotel for next two night was Baan Silom in Silom soi 3 , recommended to me by the same member who suggested Classrooms so I was confident it will be great choice. Soi 3 is very narrow soi just opposite soi 6 , one leading to Tawan bar . Can be easily overlooked, hotel itself is about 200 m into soi on the right side distinguished by the stainless gate and small parking are at front. No fuss check in and upon entering room my jaw dropped since bathroom was as big as room itself with enough room to install a bed inside as one of my boys I was hosting later suggested. Room well appointed, full sized refrigerator , kettle, I can’t ask for more. Bathroom doubles as wardrobe and safety deposit box is also there so some degree of discretion is required since when door are closed out items may be inspected by our guests but this was not my concern at all , just a thought as I never had anything missing from room in Thailand. I was just truly impressed and all that for 46 USD. Not a gay place but nobody bat an eyelid when I was hosting bar dignitaries and can recommend place with whole heart although our friend commented that some soi Twilight boys found trek there too strenuous . In case you run out of supplies there’s 7/11 in the soi just opposite hotel. By time I tidy myself up and got settled it was already dark so I did my customary walk along Silom to Thaniya, then to Suriwong and passing by soi 4 I noticed pretty muscly boy trying to catch clients for a massage in the new Nakkarat place in the corner of soi and Silom. Short ride to the hotel , some supplies from 7/11 and finally I could put my hands on his muscular, massive body. Day 9 In the morning we went to Foodland Pattaya for a breakfast ( there are no dining facilities at Classrooms hotel ), I gave boy 100 baht for taxi and went by baht bus to Jomtien to purchase bus ticket for tomorrow . I found it to be good idea to go to Bangkok using airport bus from Jomtien and then train to Phaya Thai BTS. Less hassle to get to airport bus station in Jomtien than Northern Pattaya bus station where buses to Ekkamai , prone to be stuck in traffic in BKK , are departing from. Airport bus ticket can be purchased day in advance , it’s why I made that trip. Then got that urge to climb a mountain so went up to Pratamnak hill to both Big Budda and admiral statue and thane wandered through the streets between the hill and the sea – area popular with Russians I guess due to ubiquitous shop and restaurant signs in Russian . I even found restaurant called “Diadia Vova” ( uncle Vova ) featuring face of Lenin on it’s sign. Returned by motorsai as I was not keen on navigating winding streets to find way back to Pattaya. Lunch in Ambiance and then massage with one of their boys , nothing memorable , just massage with few indecent touches but back in the soi I spotted Ko sitting in front of Copa so immediately engaged him for 1.5 hr. session well rehearsed on my previous trips . Great finish of Pattaya part of my trip with great boy, kissing me good bye and good night was very suitable end of day 9.

I think that was clearly fishing for somebody naive or extremely horny. I had the same in Royal House massage in Pattaya on the last trip. In such a case what you did : '' no, thanks" is the best way of handling it as haggling to bring tip down would give such request a whiff of legitimacy.
