  1. "Old" in the sense of "as we got to know you", i.e. young, smart and good-looking!
  2. After your previous whining trip report I was really worried and thought what's wrong with Vinapu ... good to hear you had a great time this time and are back to "good old optimistic Vinapu" !!!
  3. I think it means "This evening I am alone", maybe even with a touch of "and therefore looking for a companion"
  4. I also prefer paying in cash. One advantage of paying by phone would be that it avoids accumulation of small coins that make the wallet so heavy. I think I will get rid of them the next time i pay for something, but then when i see the long queue behind me at the cashier I feel bad to take the time to pick out the right coins and just pay with paper money and the wallet gets heavier again ...
  5. I would never use it to pay at gogo bars or massage shops. It would be more useful for small amounts on some occasions. After Covid, I had a situation where I wanted to rent a bicycle on Ko Kret and the only way of payment was Scan Pay. Luckily my companion of the day called a friend who could pay it. Maybe this was only because shortly after Covid.
  6. https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/personal/digital-banking/pages/pay&tour.aspx Here is the downside: You cannot top it up with Thai Baht, i think you must exchange with Kasikorn exchange rate Thats a scam!
  7. I think it is a prepaid visa card?
  8. Is this new? Just saw it on instagram. https://www.tagthai.com/easy-pay It is from Kasikorn Bank You can top it up with Thai Baht (so not forced to use the bad echange rates of banks) You can Scan-Pay without having a bank account You can withdraw from Kasikorn Atms without fee Didn't have time to inquire further, maybe there is some downside. Anyone using it? Could be useful supposed the money is save when the phone is lost: If you bring a lot of cash to Thailand you could top up the app without loss, and it would eventually be safer.
  9. your karma for always haggling down prices 😁
  10. Won't happen too often, because: you don't plan to be in BKK before 2029 I resort to Baan Silom only in case The Quarter Silom is full (never happened so far) or rate is higher than I am willing to pay (happened last time) Personally I like Baan Silom less than the Quarter because rooms arent really dark with curtains closed bed was a bit on the harder side no pool no gym
  11. I have in mind visiting Da Lat, but last time in February I decided it was just a tit to cold for my taste ... so April to June it must be, but not this year.
  12. There is still space for 3 more such villages ... or have they constructed the leaning tower of Pisa yet?
  13. It looks like the Vietnamese like ancient buildings and cable cars. On the Bana hills near Danang they have constructed a medieval french village.
  14. Thats cheap! I thought 1 dong = 2500 baht (shorttime)
  15. One should also note he sells food supplements, so maybe not genius but business genius?
  16. Just because we can't see the cables of the elevator doesn't mean they are in better shape.
  17. Laos comes somewhat surprising, as it is poorer than Thailand, no? This "duty of sending money to family" - thing also happens within Thailand, from Bangkok to Isaan etc. I think this wasn't mentioned in that other topic about debt of the Thai middle class. I think it is really hard to accumulate any wealth for a guy who has a middle class job in Bangkok and a rather poor family in Isaan, even if he is not shopping or gambling addicted. Alls those bills, hospital bill for grandfather, school fees for 3 brothers and sisters, funerals, repair roof etc are neverending and add up to quite a significant amount.
  18. and it looked like there was not only money in his underwear but also a big c
  19. This is exactly the guy I am lusting after since I saw him performing at The Best Bar on Feb 25 + Feb26 and you and I are not alone with that! All I got was a kiss on his belly, a picture together with him and the videos I took of the performance. After the show they seemed a bit in a hurry leaving the bar, no chance to discretely ask for an off and I am a shy guy anyway. Sorry in advance that I dont post videos of guys on a public forum.
  20. Are you now a mamasan who assigns the numbers?
  21. Your guardian angel who was sure you offed the guy to go to the church will get scolded by his boss!
