Its about time for me to start my trip report for my trip last month. This trip was a last minute trip planned only few weeks before. Prior to this, ive been in contact with several forum members to see if we can have our trip aligned but im on a strict schedule this year so in the end, i booked a trip for 2 weeks in July, only manage to be with a forum member (not active) for 4 days. I did managed to meet few others who are residing in bangkok though. Anyway, once i booked my ticket, time to start booking hotels and planning a side trip. Booked Furama Exclusive Sathorn for 6 nights, love the location, room was great although i prefer the modern furama hotel bathroom better, as the room that i get didnt have a separate shower, only a bath tub with shower attached. Exploring the options for a side trip, it was a toss between Phnom Penh, Phuket or Pattaya. Ive been wanting to go to phnom penh or phuket for a while now but ticket price to phnom penh isnt cheap booking this late, so maybe will put it for the next trip, hopefully soon. Having read that phuket gay scene is diminishing, i contacted a guy and proposed a trip together with him to phuket if he is interested and available. While waiting for his reply, i started to read back Vinapu's report on phuket, and start to look at options for hotels and location. Ive got to do few nights for upgrades on my Hilton Honors, so Hilton Garden Inn Bang tao seems like a great value for this purpose. The location is a bit far from the action which is concentrated in Patong but if i have a guy with me tagging along, maybe it wont be an issue. If he couldnt join me, im left with either going to Phuket alone and stay near Paradise Complex or go to Pattaya for the rest of my trip. Im not as motivated to go to Pattaya though, since i find out my crush now has a girlfriend lol. So, i was really hoping that my guy would say yes. Luckily, it wouldnt take too long for him to say yes to my proposal. So i proceed with hotel bookings at Hilton Garden Inn Bang Tao for 4 nights, and booked Hilton Sukhumvit for my last night in Bangkok before going back home. Now that all the bookings done, i had about 10 days before my trip to browse through the numerous lists of available massage guys to fill my time there in bangkok, before my guy join me for phuket. There are a few stunners that would definitely make my heart flutter. My usual targets are jey spa, arena and vck, but ive seen few stunners in aurora as well. For the bars, my usual hunts will be in jupiter, moonlight, the one, but have taken boys from banana, hotmale, and former screwboys too, so those are the targets for this trip. Ive yet to find anyone i like from freshboy and the last time i hire a boy from dreamboy was from their previous location in soi twilight, but since i heard a guy ive taken before had moved to dreamboy, i included dreamboy to the list, and visiting freshboy will be at the bottom of my list, unless someone drag me there lol. Other than bars and gay massage, onsen/sauna visit is on the list because the forum member im planning to travel together for part of my trip likes to visit them. And finally, no trip to thailand will be complete without a visit to Prime Massage, my favorite non gay massage place.

Cant help with your questions but i heard people complaining about the sound proofing issue on quarter silom rooms, i.e u can hear next door neighbors talking and moaning. If that suites you, you would be happy with this hotel.

Its hard if you ever plan to see him again in the future. Otherwise, its pretty easy to ignore in my case. I also noticed some boys will just broadcast messages to all his potential/previous clients once in a while or in case of freelance with tourist visa, whenever he is in town. This one is easier to ignore

I go with the same mantra when i travel together with someone like minded. But its hard to find one, and harder to find one and get the time aligned, so it is much easier to just travel solo, and meet other like minded travelers along the way. Even when travel with guys, i know its important to give them some alone time. This can be as simple as more time to sleep, or gym time or time for them to call their parents/family etc.

Bangkok also have a few that still have plenty of boys that will be available for you to choose inside the center. One in particular, has no pic of masseur available through website or line. Reason was to protect their masseurs confidentiality. Arena has never disappoint me though with their selection of hunks muscular masseurs available. Vck on the other hand, has both line updates of who is available on the day, and very large number of boys available on site. Similar can be said for massage places in silom soi 6, where most available masseurs will be there for choosing. But their line also have listing of boys, but might not be updated. Given the popularity of hugs bar for bear and chasers, its only a matter of time those guys make way to the new the one bar. My experience with tawan is mixed bag as well. Seems like they do have a lot of freelancer that comes whenever they want, which could explains the mixed reviews. These rare gem usually comes when they need money, or when they are free only. Sadly, i dont think there is a pattern, but i guess if they have regular job, weekend nights might be when they will make appearance for some extra cash? Sadly, the permanent exhibit of old tawan and i guess The One as well fits the recents trip reports.

Im more a shorter stay guy, mainly due to work but recently, i tried going for a 2 week long in thailand, and i didnt regret it one bit. Granted, i do split my time between bangkok and pattaya. The last few visits, i rarely did bangkok or pattaya sight seeing anymore, so i added in side trips, such as chiang mai, vientiene, hua hin, kanchanaburi etc. I do have an advantage of living near to thailand (2.30 hour flight) so shorter trips is more desirable but sometimes work schedule make it easier to just take leaves at the end of the year, when most people takes their leaves. Thus the longer trip. I just finished a work trip that is 3 long weeks, and i pretty much cant wait to return home. I guess 2 weeks or less is my sweet spot.

Ive never book a place to watch firework before but ive been in bangkok and pattaya during new year few times. Roof top restaurants/bars usually have a dinner/drink/firework packages that u can book, some can be quite expensive though. Furama silom roof top has one annually. Booking a higher tier room there could also work, but like u already guess, the rate during that night is high, can be triple the normal rate.

I consider myself very picky, but even then, ive had some duds before. But i still consider bars to be the preferred way to get my guy of the night, as i preferred LT, and its the bar that gives me higher rate of willing guys. Many masseurs arent even willing to meet outside their workplace, even less that are willing to take LT after whole day working at the center. Though i blame myself too as i rarely make effort to take them off site as i like the massage table better when getting massage. Plus considering they can get more per hour in the center, especially if they are popular, its hard to motivate them to be with you LT, unless you are willing to be more generous. I wouldnt bank on straight top guy to bottom for you either. Very unlikely itll lead to a satisfaction ending.

But if u are sending him off without an off, after sitting with you for a while, yes, it is customary to tip. 100 baht is enough. I rarely tip mamasan unless he is helpful. Usually, this means his service leads to me offing a boy, LT. Pushy mamasan gets nothing from me.

Language barrier is always a challenge when it comes to chemistry, but i do find that using key words with thai accent helps them understand better. This works in other countries and languages as well, even when i speak malay in indonesia, if i imitate their accent, itll be easier for them to understand me. Ive observed similar thing in vietnam, japan and korea as well. One particular incident in vietnam made me realize this. I was ordering an ice tea, from the counter at the cinema, where they sell lipton ice tea in the bottle. After repeating few times in clear standard english, with him not understanding what im saying, i resorted to sign language and pointed to the bottled drink behind him. Immediately he says, ooooo "aih" tea. So afterward, i tried few times imitating their accents, and definitely improves the communication hehe.
