  1. I did a search and the first figure is up to may, but the second figure is for the whole 2020.
  2. We have seen significant reduction of hospitalization amongst 60 and older already, which was vaccinated during phase 2 (april). Hope the rest will follow suit. However delta variant is here as well, so might take a while to see reduction.
  3. Lots of internet troll out there, trying to say things that obviously wrong just to get some attention.
  4. An update to this, we are now 4.6mil second doses completed (14.3%) and are doing 400k doses daily now. The gov shift the vaccine doses to two most affected states, and aim to vaccinate all adult at least 1 dose by august 1st, after which walk in is allowed for people in these two states. 63% of adult have received their first dose in these two states.
  5. Why stoop to their level haha. Ignorance is bliss
  6. Its complacency. Thailand has been lucky to enjoy low infection rate for the most part of 2020, and able to bring down second waves pretty efficiently. I think we observe similar trend with taiwan and australia as well, where the goverment are able to contain the spread but fail to order their vaccine supplies. Now that delta variant wrecking havoc, turns out that their strategy or lack of strategy backfire. Ive said this before, that some countries will be ill-equiped to fight the spread simply because they have chosen to ward it off out of the countries from the get go, so their whole system to combat the virus have not been tested. Add incompetant and corrupt gov in that mix, you get what u see now in thailand.h Though my guess was a bit off since i thought that phuket sandbox might be the reason. Instead, its their lack of border control or possible some high so refusing to quarantine is the reason. Of course, any competant gov would see this mistake and start to impose strict lockdown, but instead, we saw songkran holiday was allowed. Its not the first we heard this though, it has been repeated over and over in many countries prior to this, when everyone is scrambling to learn about the virus and how to control it. It just that thai couldve learned from other countries mistake and avoid the current disaster. My country malaysia isnt doing any better in containing the virus though. And i dare to say due to similar reasons. We were doing well early on, get complacent, and thought we could control it even if we see some increases in the daily cases. Politicians kept saying they cant impose strict lockdown to save economy (mainly factories and construction) until its too late and our hospitals are hammered. The only thing that we did ok is vaccine acquisition. We are not the best and ordered enough supply early on, but we picked up early and start negotiating contracts and even join covax albeit a bit late. And it is due to our second waves, that started in october due to a state election resulted from power grabbing move by politicians there. And the current third wave right now, our minister managed to expedite some vaccines orders through further negotiation and of course some donations as well. Another move recently is to expedite vaccination in the two states that see high daily cases, (KL and Selangor). By August 1st, all adult is these two states will at least get their first dose, and any resident who have not receive their appointment yet or those without identification (illegal) can simply walk-in to get their vaccine. Hopefully cases will go down soon, as today daily cases are 12.9k with 6-7k are in these 2 states alone. We are vaccinating around 400k+ doses daily now, for a 32mil population country. Back to the topic, Malaysia is one of the country that is waiting for astrazeneca deliveries from thai factory. However, the delay will not affect us much for now as we have ordered i believe 30% more doses than required to vaccinate the whole population.
  7. Sadly im a user but we only have a choice between food panda that doesnt support civillian protests and grab that bought off uber and monopoly the market, increasing their rate by a lot after. Post lockdown, id definitely have a choice to ditch both of them
  8. Luckily so far, most variants while more contagious, are not directly more lethal. Of course if more people contracted the diseases, the death count increases. But i think the lambda variant in peru is raising a concern as peru were seeing increase in case and death. As long as people keep getting infected, mutations will carry on. We might need yearly shots of vaccine because of this.
  9. Sounds like a get rich money scam rather than insurance. With these around, no wonder covid cases in thailand cant go down hehe.
  10. Only for phuket model i believe. Coming in and quarantine 14days doesnt have to be vaccinated.
  11. Seems like all that time he is quarantined to keep himself from potentially spreading the virus into thailand, but instead he got the virus in thailand. How ironic.
  12. What kind of coverage they give if you get infected? Typically here for covid, its all pay and claim, so you wont make money off the insurance.
  13. I almost exclusively tried to get boys overnight when im in bangkok/pattaya lol i guess id do very well in mexico then hahaha.
  14. We got similar reaction to AZ initially, and our gov first wanted to limit AZ just for elderly, but after that announcement, 10k+ people pulled out of the registration. Due to this, gov decided to make AZ an opt in vaccine, and registration is based on first come first serve and 8k or so of those who pulled out reregister. First batch registration of about 200k+ doses opened for only two states, filled up within 3 hours. Second batch of 1.2mil doses, opened to 5 states, sold out within 90mins. Thereafter, gov decided to put back AZ in the general vaccination plan. Of course our daily cases are at its worst now, 13k yesterday. So right now, any vaccines is highly sought after, be it pfizer, az or sinovac. Our DG of health just released a statement that 3k+ fully vaccinated HCW were infected, but only 3 of them at stage 3, 3 at stage 4 and zero at stage 5. All of them are vaccinated with 2 dose of pfizer. So, if anyone had a choice, pfizer would be favorable.
  15. Did australia end up donating their AZ vaccine or even with not giving to under 40s, they still didnt have enough vaccine?
  16. U forgot milk
  17. #KerajaanPembunuh = Government The Murderer.
  18. Reality in malaysia now. The video is mostly english but if u need some translation, can ask me here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8E3Smk06MJo
  19. Few possibilities, with the top one would be japan prefer moderna and pfizer, and have ordered enough of those vaccines, which made their AZ vaccines unused. For that reason, donating is better than letting those vaccine expires and go to waste like some countries elsewhere. Another reason is they are donating to hard hitting countries in south east asia, while i believe japan is doing well so far keeping the virus under control in their country. Of course there is always benefit to donating in need items as a diplomatic way to strengthen relationship, and it goes a long way with asian countries.
  20. Too late, there is kappa and lambda strain already. https://m.timesofindia.com/life-style/health-fitness/health-news/covid-variants-difference-between-delta-delta-plus-lambda-and-kappa-variants/photostory/84336227.cms?picid=84336247
  21. While im sure we cant rule out corruption, we also cannot rule out that ordering sinovac could be as simple as this is what available in the shortest time. Vaccine shortage is worldwide, so its very logical that the less effective ones are the most available. Beggars can't be chooser. I guess chinese sinovac has been very active pushing their vaccine while others are already overbooked by a lot, thus if thai gov put an order now, they might not see the first shipment maybe until 2022. I wish price is a factor but sinovac is more expensive than astrazeneca. If AZ can cope with world demand, ill bet itll be the first choice of any government struggling economically. But then again TIT. Anything goes hehe.
  22. My guess is an extension cords that either have multiple outlet and or usb ports.
  23. To someone who weigh the risk vs benefit, sinovac definitely did very well in preventing death. Unless you have the luxury to choose vaccine type, which thailand dont have, sinovac is better than no vaccine. Indonesia also observe similar low rate of death amongst their health workers that were infected by covid, where 90% of them were vaccinated with sinovac. Yes, if the media only fixated on the death after fully vaccinated, itll in fact will make those that were on the fence about vaccine or sinovac to choose either wait for a different vaccine or worse, avoid getting vaccine at all, which is still weird to me since the fact is, covid death has been way higher multiple folds all over the world. What responsible reporting would look like is to compare the death rate amongst health workers before and after vaccines and see how vaccines help reduce the death rate. In the end, people will only see what they want to see. All the information are there, its up to the adult to decide for themselves. Some countries are making vaccine compulsory though.
  24. Or maybe share the pic of the hot brazillian escort you are trying to meet in rio here. Chances are some members might be able to vouch for him?
