I have taken bar boys to Fake many many times, they have always been enthusiastic and enjoyed themselves hugely especially the gay ones, Thai, Cambodian, Burmese notwithstanding. Again untrue I have been given a table near the stage multiple times, as long as there is one available. On nights with guest singers or special performers yes they take reservations in advance. You just have to indicate willingness to open a bottle so they know it is not going to someone buying two beers and a water. It is exactly the same system as in other big clubs. But if you do just want to have a single beer to check the place out it is entirely your choice. No compulsory spending. Somewhat exaggerated there are one or two security people but generally to break up fights on the floor. People giving the boys a grope and a tip are all part of the game. “Crazy” females are usually just drunk and pulled back to their tables by their friends. The performances aren’t particularly erotic especially by comparison to Patpong though the boys are good looking and (some) demonstrate teasing personalities on stage that makes it more stimulating.

I stopped going to Fake Club a few years ago otherwise I would offer. It is great fun but definitely requires the right company, preferably someone who knows their way around and how to get a good position next to the stage. There are a couple of guys at Jupiter who occasionally work at Fake Club and would probably be happy for an off to take you there. You just need two lively guys, and be willing to pay the price of a bottle which costs the same as Silom bars. No need to stay for hours, just an hour at the right timing to catch the model parade and show. I was told they have now built karaoke rooms at the back though I haven’t been there myself.

May I humbly add that I am not a fan of the new site though. It used to be easy to access and browse the forum from my phone, and view multiple post subject lines in one screen. While it was a basic layout it was straightforward. Now the display, additional pictures and text previews has made it much harder to navigate.

I was just speaking to a boy about this recently. Asgard is the big kahuna of host bars and many Silom boys have been trying their luck there. They can have up to 500 boys on stage, and rely on customers to buy stacks of drinks for them at a go. Even Chinese and Korean boys work there. I haven’t seen him in the flesh but based on the videos he appears to be a twink who was working in Pattaya years ago at BBB (when it was still a proper gogo bar). Back then he was very thin (underweight even) and the victim of a bad perm. He’s put on some weight and muscle, and his face has changed for the better, either from the weight gain or other reasons. Or I could be entirely mistaken and they are lookalikes, will only know for sure when I see him in person or remember what his FB name was (he was a friend of a boy I knew well who was ex Jupiter)

You are 100% correct. Rush spelled it “Noom” and chose it because it meant “young man”. To him, Noom was young, which led to my surprise (mentioned above) when I first saw a picture and he was not quite so young as imagined. As their relationship grew, Noom got more comfortable with his identity being outed and consented to photos being posted on the blog but I don’t think his real name ever was.

@bkkmfj2648 this is jolting my rusty old memories. Yes now I remember seeing Rush’s obituary posted on the Sawatdee forums. Noom was very much real though it wasn’t his real name (like Celine, it’s all coming back to me now). Though they are few and far between, Rush did post photographs of him. It is the same guy, across the passage of a few years. Seeing his pic for the first time (back in the days when the blog was still live), I distinctly remember thinking Noom was not my type and somewhat older than I envisioned. I just went back and did a search of the archived blog, by good luck and coincidence since the archived site is much harder to search and some posts have disappeared entirely, I’ve managed to locate a few photos of Noom. Would it be a violation of privacy to post them here or am I better off sending them by PM to @bkkmfj2648 and to @kram987 to see if it’s the same guy?

Suggesting a meal is an implicit offer to pay, and if the other party agrees, they understand this and are mentally willing to gush with appreciation when the bill is picked up….usually demonstrated by a big smile and a brief wai. No one accepting a meal invitation will then glower at you as you pay unless for a different reason.
