You need to read more closely. Thailand airports opened to incoming on 1st of November. Nothing to do with clubs, bars alcohol etc. If you want to know about the reasons Pinocchio gave for the 15th January, look around these boards or Bangkok Post or Google. One glimmer of hope is that some committees reporting to the CCSA are pushing for easing before January -- to be discussed this Friday. Look for the thrice weekly English language CCSA bulletin broadcast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Why do you mention 1st of November rules? They will almost certainly be superseded by the 1st of December rules.

Richard Barrow's Newsletters and bulletins are the most reliable and up to date information. (Usually posted WAY BEFORE anything appears on the Bangkok Post website!). Last week he corrected info. on a CCSA infographic. Very soon he will be coming back to Thailand (only a week or so away) and will recount his airport experiences.

I have a premonition --- probably as wrong as all my previous ones -- that to save face the dictator at the end of this month, will declare restaurants will be able to serve alcohol from the 15th of November and then at the end of the month all will be open.

Of course 'no quarantine' actually means 'one night quarantine in a selected hotel' to await test results.

PM has asked the CCSA and the Ministry of Public Health to urgently consider allowing foreign visitors to enter Thailand without any requirement for quarantine if they are fully vaccinated and arrive by air from low-risk countries. All they are required to do is to show an RT-PCR test result undertaken before they leave their home country, and do a test in Thailand. After that they will be free to move around Thailand as Thais can do. Actually the CCSA meeting will be on Thursday, chaired by the dictator can approve these or other easing (or tightening) of restrictions. Also no alcohol in restaurants till December!
