  1. Are we supposed to care about polls again? Or is this just a cable news feature to drive up TV viewership and internet clicks? I don't trust their value, e.g how those polls will translate into change with this White House American's don't understand much these days. As Jimmie Chieng says, they don't read enough or have the vocabulary to foster ideas why they might want to resist MAGA.
  2. Trump just told defense contractors the Pentagon must reduce spending by 8%, in each of the next 5 years. So yeah, I really wonder if defense and aerospace sector has buyers remorse. Trump is a lame duck president, so he might not worry too much. As long as he succeeds as a good power bottom for Putin, it seems he is on track for that piece of his agenda.
  3. I can't understand how the US Aerospace and Defense industry is pro Trump. Maybe it's old thinking that Repubs increase defense spending. Yet will NATO buy American weapons after Trump shits all over them and Ukraine? Frankly, it seems Trump is fucking up a lot of trading partnerships, and potentially fucking up domestic businesses that rely on immigrant labor. When will the private sector revolt?
  4. May I just say thank you New York Times and Washington Post for helping me understand the health care agenda and where to look for the truth. And may I assume how we all need to vote in the midterms? Happy President's Day sistahs.
  5. I wish politicians like Cuomo and Clinton could have kept their hands off da chicks.
  6. Thank you for sharing the biographer interview. "Demon mode" must come with risk. Thinking how demon leaders of the past have wrought so much terrible suffering, e.g. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and so on, one might worry how Musk could magnify the damage wrought by Trump. Would Musk have any sway over defense policy? As the biographer explained, with Starlink and Ukraine, that can happen. We should worry. His design-for-manufacture algorithm to reduce costs by eliminating requirements might raise a bunch of red flags. Sure it might be OK as he said if a few rockets blow up. But when will it not ok, e.g. the Challenger disaster, our functioning democracy, our global alliances?
  7. Who knows why he is so wretched? Perhaps a guilty conscience? Projecting ones own sins onto others is a common playbook for the MAGA crowd Elon Musk calls British diver in Thai cave rescue 'pedo' in baseless attack
  8. There's no one the libtards hate worse than a shady f@ggot. Of course shady blacks and Latinos get them really steamed too. Frankly they hated Buttigieg if we're being honest Sorry sistahs, I'm in a mood this evening. All the libtards that voted against Hillary, and all the Muslims that voted against Harris.....welp????
  9. I was not referring to market activity creating wealth. I rather expect the same result predicted by hedge funds. Trump finds all kinds of ways to enrich himself. He has been boasting about the gigantic leftover wad of cash from his election campaign and even joked he might run for a third term. It's not too much of a stretch to imagine accepting new political donations. But there are other ways Trump gets his hands on cash. Remember his buying golf resorts with cash in the UK? IMO more than ever the Presidency is for sale. He's already fired IG's. Corporate media may not be much of a watch dog. Will anyone be minding things or will there be a free-for-all as far as Trump trying to be as rich as Putin? https://newrepublic.com/article/188271/trump-profit-presidency-emoluments-supreme-court So yeah, one might wonder how various entities seeking tariff relief would follow hints from King Baby, what can be done to avoid the tariff nightmare.
  10. I am so sorry. It's fucked up. Sadly the transactional president is waiting to hear his ChaChinggggg! Can Trudaeu record his phone call with King Baby tomorrow? Does anyone ponder.......Who might enjoy loss of trust between the United States and our neighbors?
  11. We never got the wall (Mejico will pay for it), the massive Foxconn plant in SE Wisconsin (13,000 jobs), cure for AIDS, a replacement for the ACA (something bigger and better)....and so on. Clearly the media doesn't give a sh!t. America is in Fuck Around (with Democracy)/See What Happens mode.
  12. I streamed it twice and look forward to seeing it again. Would be a good one to see in a theater. Sweeney's first film, Straight Up, was so clever. That was no accident. Twinless has all the right stuff. Loved it. If the Academy gave Oscars to quirky, indie movies, Dylan O'Brien would get the Best Actor Oscar for this movie. Phenomenal. I loved how the movie sampled the song Crazy for this Girl.
  13. One hopes Sec. Duffy is in touch with the Aussies about avoiding transportation disasters.
  14. If corporate media meant anything they would ask why Trump said such a lie.
  15. Praise our great leader, everyone. King Baby saved California. Next, he will drain lake Michigan and flow all of that water to California. Enjoy!!
  16. Folks that believe US surveillance isn't aware of drones or weather balloons floating across our skies are likely mistaken. Congressional intelligence committees hear certain facts, but those committees meet in secret. The last thing the US will do is disclose top secret capabilities. With King Baby and so many MAGA nitwits in the mix, protecting sensitive information must be quite a high wire act.
  17. When I heard that James Sweeney was creating a film costarring Dylan O'Brien, I was excited. I admire both quite a lot. Sweeney wrote, directed and starred in Straight Up a few years ago, a clever, funny movie. I watched it on Netflix. O'Brien has done a variety of roles. I enjoy him. The film is at Sundance, where it is having very positive buzz. I splurged and bought a ticket for the on-line screening before it sold out. Looking forward to it!! Twinless is about two grieving men that bond in support group and form unlikely friendship.
  18. Sometimes one can let a friend vent, and even ask "you don't like Xmas lights?" without getting in the middle of it. Some folks use decorative lights in their backyard (usually white lights) year around, at least in SoCal. If his neighbor's are Christmas lights, seems like a temporary annoyance, but yeah, he sounds like kind of a Grinch.
  19. I would like to see it. Looks good! The Hollywood Reporter has an encouraging article about the film. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-reviews/how-to-make-millions-before-grandma-dies-review-thai-oscar-entry-1236099938/
  20. Hegseth did promise sobriety, serving as Sec of Defense.
  21. Dean Cain posted that he'll be there tomorrow. Make America Great Again, again!!
  22. Trump plans to sign many executive orders on Day 1, CNBC reports this evening. Let us pray!
  23. The article seems to say that drinking coffee provides a hydration benefit, same as water, and I've been told that is true, by a friend. However, I have my doubts that there is equal hydration benefit, coffee vs. pure water. I do drink a lot of coffee, probably too much. I try to drink at least 1000 mL water a day, and then increase that amount when I am exercising, such as working in the yard, sit-ups, and so on. I don't know if that is optimal. I have a hunch I ought to bump that up. If I happen to enjoy an adult beverage with friends, I try to alternate to a glass of water between cocktails. This image below is from the American Heart Association at HEART.ORG. Finally I know a long distance runner who tells me that runners especially need to stay aware of their hydration, that the consequences of failing to do so can be deadly. So perhaps the article reminding everyone regarding hydration makes sense. I just finished 500 mL while reading this thread!
  24. This short is nicely done. Sounds like part of a bigger, future project. The same YouTube channel has a lot of related content for anyone interested in movie making.
