  1. More and more posts across InternetLand challenge the state of 🍊 health and some even look forward to his obit.
  2. In one famous interview, Trump declined to choose his favorite part of the Bible, the New Testament or the Old Testament. He did claim the Bible was his favorite book. But back to the OP, could there be any doubt he is an Old Testament fella? An eye for an eye, stoning the rapist, and all that. I just finished watching an interview of Andry Hernandez Romero, the gay, Venezuelan makeup artist that was sent to CECOT by Trump's thugs. https://youtu.be/OINROI-uGdk?si=bRdbog1rNgz816p8 Many things struck me about his account of what happened, including how his faith helped him and his fellow prisoners get through it. Now home in Venezuela, he is making the best of the outcome and keeping a positive outlook. What a talented, articulate young man. The interview is worth a listen. For me it reminded how my Christian gays would point to Andry as someone that deserves a seat at the table (with Christ). As for Trump......welp?
  3. I liked how when Pete Buttigieg ran for the Democratic nomination he referred to Trump as the pornstar President. Democrats do need a more aggressive, clever, hard hitting narrative that challenges voter opinion of the GOP. Funny, I brought up Buttigieg in another Internet group, this week. That generated the response that Buttigieg is bad dude for trashing trans people. Maybe that's what got me in a pessimistic mood. Buttigieg never trashed trans people. He merely stated his strategy that deciding whether trans athletes should compete in sports is an ethics question, not a political one. In other words, how can sports bodies preserve meaningful and fair competition? Other libs canceled Pete when he ran for President, for various reasons. I get it. People have strong opinions and refuse to cede their ground. But that is how we ended up with 45, IMO. Libtards were convinced Hillary was too evil. So be it. Just be prepared for what you have wrought. So yeah, I'm in a pessimistic mood, hearing how easily the libtards falsely claim Buttigieg has trashed trans people, just because he doesn't fall in line and parrot what is the woke narrative. You guys appropriately remind how important it is that people continually call out Trump for the slimy POS he is. But will any of that matter if the Dems fail to win votes? It seems America has already shown their hand on that. They will vote for a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist over a Dem. A Red state like Iowa voted for Obama twice but then experienced a political shift, likely due to resentment. Maybe part of that is how voters saw a significant loss in jobs and wealth during the 2008 financial crisis, while banks and corporations were bailed out. Is it any surprise how the GOP plugs into that, always referring to East Coast elites? @stevenkesslar you make a good point, how Dems need to win in Red states. Iowa may be in position to begin shifting back. 2026 might tell the tale.
  4. The Dems could help save representative democracy from the Mad King of DC by gerrymandering all the blue states now instead of blathering on about it. Yeah, gerrymandering sounds anti-democratic, but the longer the Dems stand pat, the worse are the prospects for stopping the Mad King of DC fascist train. Are these MoveOn.org events happening now with Jasmine Crockett and others going to make a difference? Yeah, they seem exciting, when Crockett calls Trump a POS, and says the Supreme Court is corrupt, but I doubt if the low-information voters are watching or care much. There is another event tonight in Tejas, and others coming in Omaha, etc. You can stream these or watch video clips on Meidas Touch. https://www.mobilize.us/moveon/ But, even with a better message, I'm still not confident the Dems know how to consistently win elections. Isn't their strategy to wait around for voters to figure out the Dems are the good guys? Wake the fuck up. The GOP has been beating that strategy for a long time. So, IMO we may need to brace ourselves and learn how to endure what the GOP is doing to us. Sorry to say it, but maybe we should get used to grabbing our ankles and hope the pounding isn't too painful.
  5. It's happening to a greater degree now. For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has now lost credibility. I do have it on good authority there are thousands of new job openings thanks to
  6. With all of the "Drunk" and "Stumbling, Bumbling Drunk" allegations, my sense is one of these days they'll find ol' Aunt PittiPat tits up with his bourbon bottle. ☠️ And then King Baby will need to find someone else to rise to the level of executing the anal tongue bath only LindseyBelle could, bless his gay heart.
  7. My cousins' family were quite liberal academics, as liberal was defined back in those days. They were fans of Tom Lehrer. That's how I came to know about him. Our family purchased his LP. I was too young to understand the humor but recall everyone laughed.
  8. I attended a Daniel Mendelsohn event several years ago and was so glad I did. I would love to hear him speak again. In the meantime, there are videos on YouTube. His recent translation of The Odyssey prompted Times of London to query his thoughts about the upcoming Christopher Nolan film. He posted on his Facebook page, below. Daniel Mendelsohn spoke to the Times of London about the Christopher Nolan Odyssey movie Below is the Times article. The next Oppenheimer? Christopher Nolan’s new film is selling out already My thoughts so far: I am pleased Robert Pattison has been cast. I'm a fan. He will play Hermes. I was not a big fan of Oppenheimer, but I was a fan of Dunkirk. Hopefully Nolan will pull that right strings to make The Odyssey interesting for me.
  9. ..... 🎼 🎶 one might wonder how often 🍊 remenisces about the first time he grabbed a young pussy 🐈‍⬛,........ or the last time.🐈 Perhaps the East Wing of the White House will be renamed PussyLand, after Trump's planned conversion from the domain of FLOTUS into a grand ballroom.
  10. ...but I hear you always brought a big load. 🤠
  11. I remember the Bus Uncle. 😆😆
  12. The Book of Revelation may apply when stealing money from a New York children's cancer charity. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. ...and That's gotta hurt Donnie. Sorry, yet, for taking from the sick kids? That Trump allegedly allowed an underage girl to be spirited away from Mir-a-Lago by a pedophile, a lot of people are saying Trump did that, perhaps Satan has other plans for the Dear Leader, before the lake of fire thing happens. Eat a bowl of Musk's 💩? That would be a good start.
  13. @Suckrates makes the point I've been wondering and worrying about. Where is there hope the pendulum will stop swinging in Trump's favor? Even if enough billionaires get pissed off at 🍊, even if Rupert Murdoch allows Fox News to get in more and more digs against King Baby, is it too late for America's democratic system to stand up and be counted? Tell us @stevenkesslar. Is there hope?
  14. The last stall in the basement men's lounge at the Kennedy Center will be renamed Fort Lindsey.
  15. Some Repubs don't deny ICE cruelty and they defend being ok with it by stating "immigrants shouldn't have broken the law." That's such a narrow, fucked up, troublesome, and frequently incorrect view. I feel your niece. I have one MAGA brother out of 4. I seriously doubt that I will ever visit his home again. Another brother doesn't like Trump, but when I complain about the new anti-gay laws where he lives, that it's the last place I'd move to, he responded "it's a Democracy, the laws are what the people want." Wow, that said a lot. I responded he's a good fit for living there. The house I lived in during college is having a reunion next month. From social media posts I see a lot of their true colors. I am not traveling back to fly over country to rub shoulders with those college boys. There was brotherly love back then, but I've moved on from what that was and what it wasn't. So yeah, I feel your niece. I probably won't make time to visit friends or relatives that agree with oppression and my right to exist.
  16. The corporate media is helping throw cold water on the scandal. For example, I've heard news media parrot that "even if Trump flew to Epstein Island it wouldn't mean anything happened." And also, it would be unfair to make the victims suffer through new investigations. If the New York Times would pull their head out of their ass, they'd focus on the fact there are around 1000 victims. They'd investigate what all happened in Florida, in New York City, on harbor cruises, and so on. They'd pursue evidence reported by the Miami Harold. Last night on the Brooks and Capehart segment of PBS News Hour, David Brooks said MAGA voters won't care. He also said the following: The Democrats, Joe Biden administration, they had these files for four years. You think, if there had been something, you think they would have done something. The Justice Department, the courts, they have all said there's nothing actionable here. To that, I say bullshit. Epstein and Maxwell were at the top of the trafficking crimes, but others are complicit. I don't care who, whether it's Trump, Clinton, and so on. Virginia Giuffre and Epstein are dead, but that doesn't make the trail go cold. Why can't the news media publish a list of all the names that are chronicled under the investigation? Why are government entities disempowering the victims and protecting pedophiles? From the Miami Herald. I am just starting to read these, below. 17. 30+ years ago, a 737 landing at LAX crashed into a turbo prop commuter jet that crossed its path on the runway. 36 fatalities. Was an air traffic control error. The controller was distracted. I wonder if control towers have a "no mobile phones in the tower rule".
  18. Sky News Australia YT channel reports 22 dead. CBC/Radio-Canada channel on YT posted a 10+ minute piece on the history of the dispute, which I found helpful for a general understanding. https://youtu.be/nDZe2vraTHQ?si=cDpSDS8w_tFiypFa
  19. James Baldwin, American writer and civil rights activist Truman Capote, American literary figure Langston Hughes American Poet, social Activist, etc
  20. So, voters are saying Trump doesn't suck as much as he sucked last Trump cycle? 😮 That said, love how the metrics guy used all that dramatic body language to emphasize Trump = down, down, down!!! ...followed by the pundits adding colorful rhetoric, things are not good for Donny. CNN seemed like they bent over and let a nice long, loud, smelly fart in Trump's face. Nice work! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6rKJPdM/
  21. Trump will save America from the libs. Here's how. 😉😉😉
  22. I'm terribly cynical about polls these days. I recall a conversation Amy Walter of Cook Political Report had on The Bulwark last year, how polling numbers aren't effectively picking up "movement on the margins." Sampling methodologies are failing to effectively predict. I also remember how the New York Times interviewed undecided voters that did not like Trump, yet leaned towards voting for Trump because he was willing to tell the truth 😮, or he was best for health care and best for education. 😮 In the end, Amy Walters recommended not getting too wrapped up in polls. My current cynical nature is a sense that Trump is unpopular, but his base still supports him, despite disliking certain specific policies. For my own reasons, I already mentioned on this board, I don't see a path forward to stop the MAGA cult. I don't claim to understand why the Dems are losers. Does anyone sense there is a think tank coming up with answers? And that the Dems are ready to listen? I think it is stupid and cruel to abandon Fed funding of HIV vaccine research and abandon epidemic containment in Africa. The Dems and corporate media are mostly quiet about it.

  24. "Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret".
  25. Remember when Illinois re-drew their districts, and knocked Kinzinger out of any chance in favor of some MAGA clown? Should the Dems come up with a think tank, how to win back state legislatures and Congress? I'm tired of bitching about Stacey Abrams, how the Dems ignored her voter registration achievement. I'm tired of Dems clutching their pearls. Maybe I'll stop doing that.
