In Os Donos do Jogo, Profeta is from “Campos”. Is that short for Campos dos Goytacazes? Has anyone been there? Anybody out there want to recommend another good Brazilian Netflix series?

Yeah, I never much understood why society prizes virginity. I’d much rather be with someone that has a bit of experience and knows what they are doing.

Cute and to each their own but my general experience with the, say, under 21-crowd is that they are clueless both in general and in bed. A bit of experience is a good thing. I certainly did not have many of the talents/abilities that I have now when I was “over 18”. It takes a while to figure out what you like and what you like to do with other people.

The thought that was going through my head is that the experience I am having with this particular guy is similar to experiences I have had with guys from Brazil but never really with someone from Thailand before. I do agree with you about “content” too though. He is very comfortable being photographed which is again typical of Brazil but not Thailand (or it wasn’t when I last spent any real amount of time there) but also typical of those that grew up with social media and smart phones. My recollection of Bangkok contains memories of guys that should have no body image issues whatsoever (and in some cases had been on stage in their underwear shortly before) darting under the covers to avoid standing naked for any amount of time in the hotel room. Update: As I was writing this I just asked him how old he is and he said 29. He looks younger. I was expecting 23 or 25. I am not sure that changes anything other than that if you apply the one-half plus seven rule, he is just barely age appropriate for me but whatever. I don’t have any plans to go to Thailand any time soon anyway.

While doom scrolling earlier this week, X showed me a picture of a guy that looked like the identical twin of my first boyfriend from more than 20 years ago. Well, identical except for a paw print tattooed on his ass which is both kind of odd and kind of hot all at the same time but I digress…. His IG profile was linked so I messaged him there and basically said I thought he was hot and that he reminded me of someone I used to know. A day later he wrote back and we have been chatting ever since. His English is excellent and, yes, he “makes content” but also has a science/engineering day job in Bangkok and is genuinely interesting. I am in my early-40’s now and have not spent much time in Bangkok recently but did use to travel there somewhat regularly 10 or 15 years ago so I know how the place works and, well, this is not what I remember. Is this a thing that happens in Bangkok now? Have others had a similar experience? Did Thailand start taking lessons from Brazil recently?

Has anyone been to this sauna? The sauna’s IG advertises “boy interativo”? A large, clean, good gay sauna similar to steamworks in Chicago opening in Rio and filled with hot Rio guys before I am completely aged-out of that scene would be amazing.

Yeah, this forum is definitely not what it used to be which is a shame because I definitely prefer Brazil to the other side of the world. In fact, I don’t even understand how someone could like the other side of the world better. I am headed to Bangkok for a few days though soon so perhaps I should check in over there. I have no comment on anything else other than to say that it would be nice if the members of this board would expend their energy writing about their actual experiences in Brazil rather than whatever this is.

Hotel chili in SP is a very popular gay sauna on Friday nights. Rudimentary Portuguese will greatly improve your experience.

Thanks for the kind words and point taken. In a feeble attempt to make up for my posting indiscretion I will share my activities from yesterday which was a Sunday in São Paulo. Two laps around Ibirapuera Park in the afternoon. Dinner at Simbalae Bar & Burger on Rua Guaiçuí. Simbalae is overpriced for what it is but I’ve been eating there occasionally for years now and I like the bartender and it’s what I happened to be in the mood for last night. There are numerous other restaurants to eat at on this small street and the whole place always has a festive atmosphere. Even if I can’t whole heartedly recommend Simbalae to all, I would recommend visiting this street when in São Paulo. Arrived at Lagoa around 6:30 and met Rian from Minas Gerais. He has a gorgeous pau with a lean toned body and is versatile. If he wasn’t a smoker, he would be perfect. Still, I left happy around 9:00 with plans to see him again possibly today. The going rate at Lagoa these days seems to be 200. @Xclay are you an expatriate of some sort? De onde?

I don’t do much cooking and I almost never bake but last week I had cause to buy chocolate chips for someone else that does do that sort of thing. The bag of chocolate chips was almost $15 USD. I’m not actually sure how much chocolate chips are supposed to cost but that certainly feels like too much. Yes, I’ve planted a cocoa [probably a tree but I’m not really sure] on my rooftop deck while I’m waiting for the widget and cog factory down the street to be built so that I can get a job there but it doesn’t seem to being doing so well. My life in fake-America was good but it is time for a change.

My research indicates that I can invest R$1,000,000 which is less than $200,000 (or at least it is for the time being until the current administration finds a new and improved way to drive the economy off a cliff) in Brazil and obtain permanent residency. Could I buy an Airbnb as an investment in Ipanema, hire someone to manage it in the near-term while I sort out what exactly the terms of my divorce with Merica are going to be and then, um, drink caipirinhas and stare at the ocean and exchange bodily fluids with nominally 28 year olds that have a toned swimmer’s body and a mocha complexion until the sun explodes or I die, whichever comes first? If you are curious, I am in my early 40’s but have skills that can be employed remotely. I am also very comfortable owning real estate as an investment. Has anybody out there done this? It seems almost too easy.

So, I went to HotelChilli Saturday night. It was decent but I think Friday nights are better possibly because of a lower entrance fee as someone else mentioned. The clientele was still ages 18 to 80 but skewed more toward those that are middle aged rather than 30-something’s like the last time I was there. The complexion of the clientele was also much lighter than what I recall.
