  1. Will do. Sorry. His response to you shows you what I've had to deal with since I've joined this forum. It's sad. He needs a hobby.
  2. Thank you. Now that I've hidden several people, it's a little better. I'm still being stalked. One person in particular needs to get a hobby.
  3. To each their own. Have a nice day.
  4. Thanks. It's obvious you want this forum to be one thing. It's not. I usually go to PV in the off season. It's less crowded and there are more Mexicans and fewer gringos. The ocean is warmer and it's better for swimming, and prices are cheaper. I'd be happy to share tips with you.
  5. LOL - I may be old, but yes, I'm naive and I usually expect people to be kind. Maybe a little more cynical after what I've encountered here. Fortunately, after a little time, the feeding frenzy has stopped and I've hidden a few people. Appreciating most of the people here who are sharing lots of good information. After two years of not traveling, I'm ready to get out!
  6. Thanks for the tip.
  7. Since I'm "that guy" I would like you to back up your claim that I'm trying to "infect the Thailand forum as well". I answered a question there. Is that your idea of "infecting" a forum? Seriously, what is wrong with you guys? The three crusaders you mentioned have been harassing me since I joined a week ago. Apparently, they think I'm someone else who was someone else who was someone else. As TotallyOZ has confirmed, I am not whoever they are claiming I am. Now, can you please leave me alone?
  8. It seems that one or two people had a bad experience with someone getting contact information and then harassing people. That certainly is behavior that needs to be condemned. But when those people then accuse newcomers of having the same intent, or accusing newcomers of being those people, it's problematic. The paranoia then takes over, and this forum becomes toxic.
  9. Thank you for confirming. I've been accused by the three trolls mentioned here of being someone else. I have never been to Brazil and have no intention of going to Brazil, so I don't really care about GP contacts (I didn't even know what I GP was until I started reading this forum). I think the accusations that are being made against me are slanderous and need to be stopped. I have been contributing to the Thailand forum because there were questions asked that I knew the answers to (question about a hotel I've used for years). The ganging up that I've been experiencing here is far worse than any bullying I ever experienced from straight people for being gay. It is especially disturbing because it's gay Pride month. This is the way gay men treat each other? I think the intent is to drive me off of this forum, for whatever reason. I just don't understand it. I have never asked for contact information for anyone, anywhere. If anyone is accusing me of that, then they'd better bring some receipts, otherwise, it is delusional slander.
  10. I actually love it here - it's just the trolls who are harassing people that I find problematic. But thanks for your concern.

Totally get it. So for those asking the difference between the two, I think that's pretty much it. Furama Silom is on Silom, for me easier to get to. Sathorn is located on a soi and you have to walk through several sois (with no sidewalks) to get there - not as convenient if you want to get to your hotel quickly, but you can also experience life on the sois off the main streets better. Sathorn is a newer hotel, Silom is older but renovated. In the end, both are good bets and no problems with visitors in either.
  12. Here's what the old troll does: 1. Accuse you of being a troll after one post. 2. Claim you are the same person as someone else he's accused of being a troll. And that person is the same person as someone else. And that person is the same as someone else. In his deluded mind, everyone here is the same person. 3. He looks for all posts you've commented on and then responds to all of your posts. He's like an annoying gnat that just won't go away. 4. He'll take things you said out of context and then makes it seem as if you are the problem, when in fact he is the one who is stalking and harassing you. 5. He constructs a very elaborate conspiracy theory that rivals Q-Anon pizza parlor pedophile ring levels of crazy. It's so crazy, even Marjorie Taylor Green wouldn't believe it. 6. He uses what appears to be a lot of free time to make little memes that he thinks are cute. Maybe he could put his computer skills to better use? 7. This troll doesn't like that people use Grindr to meet guys. If he finds out you use Grindr, watch out, he's coming for you! I guess when guys see him on Grindr they just block him. 8. After you post a trip report, he'll Google what you wrote and the claim you Googled the information and weren't actually in the place you claim you were. Like, who would do that and why? His level of delusion and paranoia is like nothing I've ever seen.
  13. Personally, I don't think you'd want to go there during the day either. Maybe I'm biased, because I stayed in Poblado and it was so nice there - el centro was very gritty and noisy and generally unpleasant. The exception for me is that you'd want to go to Plaza Botero. I was not really a fan of Botero paintings, but the sculptures are something worth seeing. The area is gritty and the plaza is filled with homeless and addicts. There was a heavy police presence. I recommend going with a local. Based on your posts from the DR, I don't think any of the guys you might find in this area would really appeal to you. It's not worth the risk. If you pick someone up there, where would you take them? I say stick to Grindr, where you seem to have better luck, but as I said in another post, be careful there. Ask for multiple photos and if you still are not convinced do a video call. Plan to meet in a public place if you haven't met them before.
  14. I see you are also a victim of the old trolls.
  15. Yes, I still get notifications when people I'm ignoring comment on my posts, and sorry, I am curious to see what crazy shit they are spewing. You're also one of the crazies, I see. You 're also pretty obsessed with me. If I bother you so much, why don't you put me on your ignore list?
  16. Looks like that's what you're doing SLVKguy
  17. I don't think he cares. Is there a way to completely block someone so that they can't read any of my posts? I've hidden him, but he looks for my posts now and is continuing his smear campaign against me. I think he needs a good fuck.

I've stayed at both, and can understand why you like Sathorn better. It is a nicer hotel (I think it's newer). But for me, it was not as convenient as Silom. You have to walk through the sois to get to the main streets. I've been staying at Furuma Silom since it was the Tower Inn - lots of fond memories there
  19. joizy replied to Olddaddy's topic in Gay Bangkok
I've been staying at Furama Silom for years. I love it. It used to be the Tower Inn. No problem bringing guests up to your room - the reception is towards the back of the lobby - you enter right up to the elevators. They redid the rooms and they're really nice. Used to have very loud air-con. Nice pool on the roof and a bar, also great breakfasts. Last time I was there was about 2018. It may have changed since then, but I really enjoyed my stay then. Close to BTS station as well. I used to use the Malaysia Hotel with taxi drivers to get to Babylon since I wasn't sure if they'd understand Babylon. Never been there though, but it seems a bit out of the way.
  20. I'm happy to move on. Wish you'd stand up to SLVK and tell him to stop harassing members though. This entire thread is slander and delusional.
  21. What did mama have for lunch today?
  22. There he goes again. Yes, I'm the same as the other person who was the same as the other person who was the same as the other person.. You truly are delusional. What drugs are you on? Maybe early onset dementia? Please get a psychological evaluation. You need help.
  23. I've hidden the paranoid troll, but every now and then I click on his responses to my post to see what crazy rant he is going on. So now he's saying I Googled information about Medellin in order to create a post with some general tips that I didn't see anywhere on this forum. Apparently because I didn't talk about Fercho's or other pimps that people use to find dick, that makes me some sort of a fraud. This is what he does. He makes up these insane claims and floods every forum with them. What I don't get is why people believe him. I did not say anywhere in my post that I used escort services. Why? Because I didn't. I only used Grindr. I found guys who wanted to have sex for free and a few who wanted to be paid. I don't need someone to help me find dick. Even though I may be advanced in years, I still got it, and especially when I'm traveling, they come to me. I don't have to work hard. I guess the paranoid troll is angry about that and that's why he is so protective of the guys who will have sex with him for money. I guess when you have a limited supply of dick, you get very territorial about it. Anyway folks, I'm happy to provide verification to the site administrators to prove that I was indeed in Medellin. Just contact me and let's figure out a way that we can meet in real time. I'll show you my flight record, Grindr messages, receipts, photos, anything you want to see. I'm not going to sit back while this troll calls me a fraud. From what I can tell from reading through this site, he has not traveled in years, has not posted any useful information, and all he does is go on these paranoid rants accusing people of faking trips and trying to gather information about hustlers. It really needs to stop. Get help man!
  24. I didn't know it was a thing until it happened to me - for posting some tips for travelers, which I thought was being helpful. Not sure why your friend found the need to downvote it, but after saying I need to grow a spine, now you admit it is a hurtful thing to do. I'm shocked by the behavior of some of the older members here - calling people trolls for posting and asking questions, accusing people of being someone else, piling on new members because they do something that new members often do (like ask a question). You all should be ashamed of your behavior. It's clear you don't understand what I'm trying to say. My point was that the one accusing other people of being trolls is the biggest troll here. I didn't know who he was and had no interactions with him until I posted my trip report and he downvoted it. I didn't care, but I was wondering why someone would do that. Then the more I read, I saw that he has a disturbing pattern of behavior which I would describe as delusional. He thinks multiple people are the same person. He follows and stalks people. He made someone post photos of his passport after calling him a liar and even that was not enough to satisfy him. He doesn't seem to add anything to any of the discussions - provides no helpful information, hasn't posted a trip report that I can tell, all he does is harass people. And it seems you've done some things as well. It's shameful that gay men act this way. I think the intent is to drive new people away and discourage them from participating. Not sure what you gain from this.
  25. I don't have time for you. First you misread what I wrote and now you're going to come at me for it? Go find someone else to troll.,
