May 20, 20224 yr I have to say this & maybe it’s because of my age - but I’m seeing these new posters here that are arriving in foreign countries (or going soon) as sex tourists, don’t speak the language and have apparently done no research before arrival in said country - then come on here asking basic questions when they are in the very place they’re asking questions about. I mean, it must be standard for most travelers to do some research of a place before a first time trip there ?? Or, at least have the skills to connect with the locals to get some actual referrals for whatever is needed ? There’s one guy supposedly in Medellin asking about basic stuff there. And another going to Cuba with no clue about internet service and thinks he’s gonna work remote via Facebook - when basic internet apps don’t work at all, or so slow as to render it useless. I’ve been there & know how it doesn’t work. And, besides that, shortages of many things in Cuba and a tourist infrastructure not ready to receive tourists. So, the stories don’t make any sense & both asking for specific sex-worker references - when both cities have rentmen.eu and Medellin has mileroticos too. Both cities have plenty of publicized places in these forums to meet sex workers when in those cities. Either these 2 are totally fake or wildly unprepared for what they’re looking for. Or, I suppose too,lazy to figure it out by reading what’s already posted here - over and over and over. There’s an old saying in American schools that no question is a dumb question. Not so sure about that anymore. Some of this looks pretty dumb. Or better yet - take an educated risk and go visit the place you’re asking about - then write a trip report to help the rest of us. No wonder so many tourists are victims of crimes in developing countries there, I said it

I always read everything relevant, but somtimes it's just not updated. This is especially true in these post-covid times. An additional point (not a complaint): sometimes the lingo used by experts is partially un-understandable by those not in-the-know. That's my two cents

And definitely not for living out an online fantasy with no plan to actually go anywhere or make use of the information here. But, yes those people are still here & participating - so respond accordingly.

I'm assuming the purpose of this forum is to ask questions. What may seem obvious to you with your years of wordly experience may not be obvious to others. And some people don't spend weeks researching where and how to get laid before going to a place. I'm an experienced traveler and I've been to many places in the world pre-Internet, and I usually was able to figure things out. The Internet opens up a whole new world of possibility, and in my opinion, one of the best things it offers is the experiences of those who have been to places and experienced things first-hand. If it offends you that people are asking others for advice, you might want to take a look inside and ask yourself why that is so offensive. Again, isn't that the purpose of this forum? In my case (as perhaps the "guy in Medellin" that you are referring to) - I will not get into the reasons why I am here, but it came up suddenly and it had nothing to do with sex tourism. In doing my "research" I came across this forum and I read as much as I could. The Colombia forum has a lot of posts about places other than Medellin and also way too much about Brazil (Medellin is not Brazil) so I thought the quickest way to get information would be to ask questions. It seems I've offended you, and I'm not sorry. Asking questions should not be something that one finds offensive.

Seems this post was really complaining that people are asking for information rather than providing good jerk-off material. I see nothing wrong with asking questions, and as you pointed out, a lot that is here is old and times have changed. Also, the lingo. I asked about a sauna in Medellin and someone asked me why I was going to a GP sauna. Apparently, it's a term used in Brasil. Slvkguy is upset that I was asking basic questions about Medellin, but what about the people who apparently couldn't even take the time to read my post and know that I was not in Brazil? Maybe I should write my own rant.

May 21, 20224 yr So many red flags - and I’m not buying it. At all. There’s actually a ton of information posted here about Medellin. Some of it very recent & in great detail. The giveaway that you’re not serious is when asking for referrals to exact sex-workers. It’s a well established pattern by very new posters. my strong position on this is because I recently got duped by someone just like you - and maybe might be you (again),, with the same exact pattern and request for sex-worker referrals. That poster then went on to harass a Brazilian sex-worker for hours w a supposed imminent trip and he sent me all the screen shots of the conversion, including the real WhatsApp number and picture of the person contacting him. I have the receipts and have since detected several people here doing the same exact thing. There’s a small chance that you may not fit this pattern and may not be one of those people - but, if that’s the case then you try to not come off as so completely clueless & poorly informed, incapable of asking questions to locals where are are in the city you’re asking about.
