Accomodation in Bangok when staying in Thailand for 2 months
BjornAgain replied to gytis123's topic in Gay Bangkok
The 30 day rule is linked to the Hotels Act, i.e. any stay less than 30 days should be a 'Hotel', as opposed to renting a condo or house. Key reason behind this is recording where visitors are staying. Whenever you check into a hotel they copy your Passport to submit a TM30 application to the Immigration Police. Technically a landlord can register their property (condo or house) under the Hotel Act, and therefore be compliant with the Immigration Act. Most AirBnB operators don't, hence the impression "AirBnB is illegal in Thailand". As your initial accommodation is a hotel, you'll be initially registered on the Immigration database. If you want piece of mind, ask your potential Landlord "You will be providing me with a valid TM30 within 24 hours of arrival?", and see how they respond. As a suggestion, download the MisterB&B app, as prices can be more favorable then AirBnB. This includes Hotel type rentals as well. Best of luck. -
Sorry that title is currently reserved for the UK PM. (To quote Ben Elton, "little bit of politics").

Visited PP and the new bar, Jungle Boy, on Monday, which is between Candy Bar and the alley way down to Zing Resort. Both are Thai owned and managed. PP as at 23:00 is 80% full, and best described as a Karaoke bar, stage is over in the far left of the bar, so sitting down at street level on the right isn't deafening or less cringeworthy if the budding vocalist is say, vocally challenged. Jungle Boy is a pool table on the inside, and low volume music, so holding a conversation isn't a strain. Seats at street level, so ideal for people watching. Thai Whisky (Blend 285) at 119THB, Gordon's 139THB, Thai Whiskey and Coke at 150THB, Thai Soda Water 79TGB, Chang Beer 150THB. And a handful of boys to sit with you, else they're playing pool. Manager called Charlie at Jungle Boy. Inside tables, formica topped plywood on beer crates. Good atmosphere and 90% full at 23:30.

Does that imply you'll be here for Christmas and strutting your stuff on the dance floor?

My kitchen / front door CCTV keeps an eye on my Tommy Sauce, just incase some tealeaf (Cockney rhyming slang for thief) nicks it. -
Flashy tall Chinese guy walked up, stood next to me whilst "'aving a fag", spoke to PapaSan who pulled one of the big muscle guys outside, crisp new 1,000 note handed over. Both then left. Might have been a special promotion? On your first point, did try to tuck it inside the condom, but too tight!

Midnight Bar, tried to sit on the sofas underneath the Happy Birthday sign, music a bit loud, just asked and they turned it down.

Advice sought for a BKK GAY bar for beer but not boys n tips
BjornAgain replied to durian's topic in Gay Bangkok
"Apperatips" is a portmanteau combining "app era" and "tips", referring to advice for navigating the modern age of mobile applications. It is most frequently used in the context of dating and social interactions. Simples. -
Wonder how much he'll quote for the Capella? Has any members of this fine international forum stayed there, that could comment?

Advice sought for a BKK GAY bar for beer but not boys n tips

Would suggest Midnight Bar. Underneath Fresh Boys on Patpong 2 Alley, just up from the infamous Took Kae Dae, aka Foodland Phat Phong. -
Decided to have a few days up in Bangkok to address a touch of retail therapy, 2nd hand Japanese Electronic Goods Market down in Samrong as well as Fortune Town by Rama 9. Also allowed for a catch up with members @Keithambrose and @floridarob (again) as he passed through on his way down to Bali. Met up with @floridarob & @Reader at G’s, and was treated after the meal by Guido to a sharing platter of “Kaiserschmarrn“, literal translation, Emperor’s mess, a traditional German / Austrian dish of shredded pancakes with raisins and “Zwetschgenröster“, or plum jam as we call it in English. Absolutely fantastic. Took a wander over to Rainbow Dragon Bar on Patpong 2 Alley, just across the road from the world famous 7 Star Emporium of Chicken & Cashew Nuts, only 1 other couple there when we arrived, music not OTT so easy to hold a conversation. Also gets my vote as serves an excellent tonic water, rather than the yellow canned variety that ubiquitous to Thailand and SEA that destroys any taste or texture of a decent gin. 3 other groups arrived before we left, so all booths in use, plus a couple at the bar. Following evening met up again at Wine Connection at Silom Complex for a pizza. As the name implies, there is a mini wine cellar, so you can have a rummage and choose your wine which is costed at shop price, so no restaurant mark-up or corkage fee. Wine, 2 pizzas, 1 garlic bread and a water was 1,545:50THB. Beware any Coke drinkers, this is a Pepsi place. Also, you get 10% discount off the food element of your bill if you pay via a Thai Bank. Next headed over to Fresh Boys in Patpong 2 Alley to catch the end of the 22:15 show. Luckly wasn’t raining, so the steps were easily manageable. No entry fee, but 400THB per drink. The Candle show was free flowing with wax, unfortunately the boys were wearing Speedo’s, consequently, no encore of a self-made Church Pillar candle! A bit of grimacing by the boy on the receiving end of the Sadistic Show when being battered. Room was full, with a large party taking up the far-right side as you walk in, so only the stage facing seating and window side seating available for customers. Stayed for the 22:55 show as well, large cocks on display throughout, shower show extremely frothy, and the best bit was the display of “Tubular Bells”, admittedly; not very musical, as the same Dance Pole was used throughout, a couple of boys winced after their display! Did notice all boys wearing condoms, so good to know the venue is practicing safe-sex! After the Pole show, the boys wandered about soliciting a grope and a feel for a tip. Due to complete lack of apparel, no @vinapu tucks were administered. Bade goodnight to @Reader and headed down to Midnight Bar for another drink. For those not familiar with Midnight, it’s on street level underneath Fresh Boys & Hotmale Club. Bottle of beer only 140THB, Spirits from 150 to 220THB, or VSOP Brandy’s at 350THB. Open till 04:00. Noticed various boys dropped in for a quick one (a drink that is!), whilst we stayed till kicking out time. Took a wander over to Soi Than Tawan, and popped in to Than Tawan Bar, PapaSan escorted me in so I could take a butchers (look) inside, venue full, admittedly with slightly more boys than customers, but packed. Said we would return tomorrow and was promised drinks at 350THB before 22:00. Took a look in Super A Boy Cocktail Lounge, nothing doing, so headed off to McDonalds for an early breakfast. Next evening @floridarob and myself met up at Happy Beer Garden for some food, made the mistake of not realising the page of Tiger Prawn dishes were sold by weight, so was shocked at the 950THB at the end. Did taste delicious though! Wandered over to Than Tawan to take advantage of the pre 22:00 discount. True to their word, drinks at 350THB. 1 other customer present. Boy drinks at 500THB, and Off-Fee at 1,000! Plenty of boys on show, full muscle, large but not bulging muscle, Twunks, and wannabe Twunks; aka Twinks. About 16 different performers whilst we were there across the 4 displays. Left just after 22:00 as the drinks went up, slight detour via Super A to check the merchandise and headed back to Patpong 2 Alley, popped my head into Good Boy, relatively busy. Drinks at 400, shows at 22:00, 23:30 & 01:00, and via the Underwear stall (real, genuine designer swimmers, briefs and shorts all from 50THB) on Silom Road; just in front of Silom Edge, ended back down to Midnight. ‘Me Colleague’ fell to the perversive charms of the local basket girl and ended up buying a collection of battery powered cat toys. After a couple of beers, called it a night and headed off.

While technically true, also no known actor has won a Nobel prize. Having said that, Peter Handke won the prize for Literature in 2019 and has written a number of screenplays, plays, directed and produced a number of films.

You should have asked the bar owner of your favourite dancing / karaoke bar in Jomtien Complex. He use to be the GM before he retired to Thailand.

Asian boss (youtube): The hidden industry that runs Thailand
BjornAgain replied to macaroni21's topic in Gay Thailand
The key issue is logistics, designing the set for a West End or Broadway production is heavily determined by that venue, plus sets would be built / ensembled specifically for and at that venue. Put the show on tour, then your set and associated production has to be built / collapsible / transportable depending on the varying limitations on stage height (flying scenary in & out between acts as in a big production theatre, or having to compromise with static scenery as stage flexibility is limited), stage truck access, loading bay access, orchestra pit size (if any), stage size, stage angle, power availability, auditorium size and levels, audience view of the stage, ability to fly touring lights / PA or being forced to use the House system, plus whatever local 'Elf & Safety regulations you are limited by etc, etc, for whatever venues you're visiting. The other factor which disappoints audiences are the performers, run a big production in The West End or Broadway and you'll get the stars, as most likely they live or can live locally. Put on a touring production and most named performers won't do it, so the audience enthusiasm for the show is diminished some what. So any touring production of an award winning West End / Broadway show will be different to the original show. -
