Just found out, the backup generators were diesel based, so were resently replaced with biomass generators and a brand new auto-switching solution so that Heathrow could move towards their Net-Zero target. They failed, hence the black out. Sometimes the old and well trusted solutions work best, despite a bit of black smoke.

You'll be amazed as to the number of SPOF's (Single Points of Failure) large organisations have. Whether by design or accidental operational incidents. Especially in Communications Companies, ie BT, Vodafone etc. Most issues caused by bean-counters, as full autonomous switch over of geographical dispersed infrastructure costs a shed load of money. While regulations, especially in the Finance Sector force Enterprises to invest in DR (Disaster Recovery) or BC (Business Continuity), the impact of Reputational Damage is always below cost on a Risk Register. For those of you who bank with the blue coloured high street bank, pray their main data center doesn't go down, as their primary backup site is at Heathrow!

Sorry my bad. Candy is solo. Not part of a group.

Both under the same management. So to be expected.

90 minutes isn't much time, unless it's a cruise of Pattaya's famous Khlongs!

Bavarian will be a restaurant. Slight slow down on building works, as one of the investors has pulled out to look at other interests.

If you wear your old 'Phil Collins' shirt I'll come and say hello.

Naked. Just skewered onto a stick in a very dry Martini.

So true Vinapu. "You to me are everything", and "Can't get by without you". As our resident Jedi Master, "Can you feel The Force?". Cracking band from '70s Liverpool.

Goes to show, working in IT is a hot business! -
Would you give someone bad advice in order to appear polite?

Sounds like a right old Grinch. It is Christmas after all, and only a couple of trees, as long as the lights aren't confusing LAX, what's the issue? Anyway they're be gone in 7 days time. (Twelfth Night). -
Good point. Will enquire when next in town.

Word on the street, is Bavarian Boys will be a restaurant, German owner also owns the 4T bar opposite, so looks like the lederhosen dancing boys dream will remain, a dream. At least for now.
-
Not sure. Will be up there on Friday so will enquire further.

Rattling through my hazy memory from last Friday evening's session at CockA2, someone mentioned that Bavarian Boys is trying to be ready for Hogmanay, or New Year's Eve as the rest of the world calls it.

There's only one pussy, and that's Mrs. Slocombe's cat Tiddles, from Are you being Served, the English version ( Grace Brothers). Not to be confused with our colonial loaf-stealing cousins version at Bone Brothers.

Need to look further down the beach if you want space and value for money. My old condo was 2 Bed, 2 Bath, open plan kitchen/living room/dining, uninterrupted sea view with balcony, communical gym and 2 pools, dedicated parking space, also Satellite TV at 105m². 25,000THB pcm or 5.5MTHB to buy, with 6,500THB pcm community fees. Bolt to JC 120THB.

For a comparison overview of Condo's look at thailand-property.com . Bare in mind the info isn't 100% up to date, for that use the specific Real Estate details and look on their website. Site is useful for giving build details, so date of construction, also links to Sale and Rental availability, so you can gauge condition and quality. If using AirBnB or VRBO, don't expect the landlord or person / agency offering the rental to complete the TM30 paperwork, which is required by law to be completed within 24 hours of you taking up residence. Hotels do this at checkin, hence why they always photocopy your passport. Fine to the property owner is 1600THB. Just don't make a reason to be apprehended by the BiB. Good luck.

Thanks for the update. Will ensure to make a trip when next up in BKK and enquire further.

Are the old photo's on display, or can you ask to see them? As would be interesting to see if my dad is in any of them.
