  1. I am worried that the staff at Foodland may see so much of @jason1975 that memories of @vinapu may begin to fade. Perhaps vinapu needs to make an appearance soon to refresh their memories.
  2. The Line account seems to be for an individual and not specifically for Pheremore Massage. Perhaps the owner’s Line Account. A work in progress, I guess.
  3. I think that these provinces have been on a warning list for the US state department since before the current ad administration.
  4. They may understand their clientele quite well. But they also may be up against the wall in terms of hiring people. It is becoming increasingly difficult to hire fast food workers. They may be trying to get away with not having the counter workers in order to continue to staff Enough people to serve food. I am sure they also understood that they were gonna lose customers with this. Fast food automation seems to irritate a lot of people of various demographics and they just leave.
  5. If you have an iPhone, you can always set the phone app not to ring for unrecognized numbers. Those will go directly to voice mail without the phone ringing.
  6. I have to wonder about foreign credit cards. I realize that one cannot use a credit card for everything in Thailand. But if one were to use a North American or European credit card with no foreign transaction fees for most purchases, and then paid off said foreign credit card with funds from a North American or European bank, then the money would never be “remitted” to Thailand, despite being spent in Thailand.
  7. So is this a poor imitation of the “vinapu tuck” or an innovative variation? The “seated tuck" inspired by vinapu
  8. How is the Welcome Wagon group in Pattaya? I understand that it is not gay, per se, but as long as it is not homophobic, I think that it could be quite useful. I also think that having non-gay expat friends (both male and female) could be less complicated. This would be true in Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.
  9. I wonder if these sorts of incidents result in people being declared personal non grata and banned from the country.
  10. When I was in Vietnam, our guide was very clear that that was the building in the famous picture and that it obviously wasn’t the US Embassy, which was a much larger structure that is still there. The classic perspective of the building in the picture is from in front of the post office. If you’re looking at the post office, you would look right and up and that would be the building. He also did say that the US Embassy had underground connections to other buildings. I think they were mostly important south Vietnamese buildings. I don’t know if there was actually a tunnel that went to the USAID/CIA building .
  11. Hmm. Now I have to wonder if off fees are accounted for by the bars for tax purposes. On the one hand, I doubt it, but on the other hand, everyone knows that bars charge off fees. Maybe a don’t ask, don’t tell situation.
  12. A 787 can fly BKK to west coast of USA
  13. The anatomy lesson of Dr.Nicholas Tulp
  14. I wonder how many people have off’d both brothers
  15. The most dangerous part of sky diving is the takeoff in the airplane.
  16. Finnair has a very nice business class with direct flights to BKK from Helsinki with Avios with much lower fees than BA. Just always set your location to Finland before looking for availability on Finnair.
  17. Of those 3, EVA might be the best because you can use other Star Alliance airlines points to book with but either almost a year out or less than 2 weeks. Etihad and Emirates are hard to get points on and Emirates charges $800 plus fees on long haul points flights, making them more expensive than other options for award travel
  18. Being present in the moment (a Buddhist concept) is not the same as “eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.” One can strive to be present in the moment while still making plans and preparations for the future. The two activities are not mutually exclusive
  19. So, perhaps the Gogo boys should ditch the briefs and g strings. They could wear loose boxers instead. Make the customers use their imagination
  20. I think that you should plan a trip to visit Thailand. Maybe a few trips at different times of the year. Do the tourist things. Do the gay things. But also go the the markets. Take the bus/train/subway. Take a cooking class. Go to the temples. Read up about Buddhism and the history of Thailand. Try to get a feel of the place and then think about whether you want to retire there. Thailand is a great place to visit. It might not be your cup of tea for retirement. You may figure that out during these visits, but I would bet that you will enjoy the visits even if you decide that you don’t want to retire in Thailand. I have no intention of living in Thailand myself, but I would not pass up an opportunity to go back.
  21. Navarro with or without a Harvard PhD is nothing more than a cheer leader. This train is being driven off the cliff with Trump gleefully at the wheel. Also, Elon knew that Trump was going to impose tariffs on everyone. He should man up and accept his responsibility in bankrolling this mess. (I know, I know. Foolish me expecting any of these losers to take personal responsibility for their actions).
  22. Schedule of Thailand tariffs on US imports: https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/Import-Tariff-Table_Thailand-Update-June-2024.pdf Various sources on line cite 3 to 4% overall. The list that you cited from the US Embassy covered various food products with varying tariffs. Interestingly, none of those tariffs were more than 60% on any particular product. And only products that had import tariffs where listed. The list is fairly short and there are no zeros. But more to the point, Trump’s tariff decision has zero to do with Thailand or any other countries tariffs. It is strictly related to balance of trade. In 2024, the United States had a goods trade deficit of $45.6 billion with Thailand, with Thailand's exports to the US exceeding US exports to Thailand. Here's a more detailed breakdown: US Goods Trade with Thailand (2024): Total Trade: $81.0 billion US Exports to Thailand: $17.7 billion US Imports from Thailand: $63.3 billion Trade Deficit: $45.6 billion Thailand's Trade Surplus with the US (2024): Trade Surplus: $45.6 billion If you take the trade deficit ($45.6 billion) and divide by US Imports from Thailand ($63.3 billion), you get 72%. This is where he got his number. This applies to the rest of the countries as well. Don’t fall for the BS that the White House accounted for tariffs and non tariff factors to come up with their estimate of “reciprocal” tariffs. There was no thoughtfulness put into this policy. Trump isn’t really capable of thoughtfulness.
