  1. LOL. guess all you want my dear! What happens in Bangkok, stays in Bangkok. (except the Fat Guts which may be traveling with me to USA).
  2. Sorry, for Iron Fairies, the burgers were 250-280. Soda was 80 baht each. Corona was 180 baht. French Fries (wedges) were 90 baht and we had Tiger Prawns (so so) were 130 bath. They include Service Charge in the bill. See attached receipt.
  3. Stop 4: Iron Fairies The boys and I tried Iron Fairies tonight. I had been there before with a friend a few years back and had a good time but we sat at the bar. I didn't go upstairs. Tonight, we were upstairs. There is no place in Bangkok like Iron Fairies. It is unique. It is interesting. There was live music tonight which had a jazzy sound. The tables are not comfortable and neither are the stools but the place is alive with sound and people. It is a very small place and every-time I have been there, it has been packed. Tonight was no exception. It was packed and we waited a bit for the table. The place is right around the corner from Bangkok Burger Company in Thong Lor area. Once again, I really like this area and the vibe of the entire place. Iron Fairies is a restaurant, bar, music place, blacksmith shop, art gallery and trinket place. Yes, it has a lot going on. It is hard to explain other than it is lit by candles at night and fun. See the photos on the website as they are very realistic of the place. I have also attached a few we took. The burgers are great. Real Australian Beef Burgers. They are the biggest we have eaten to date and all 3 of us gave them a 4 our of 5. We loved the fries and they are the best fries (really potato wedges). We tried 3 different burgers and all three were great. The cost for fries are extra. We also had beer and soft drinks. There were 3 of us and the bill came out to just over 1800 baht. We give Iron Fairies 4 our of 5 for burgers and a 5 out of 5 for uniqueness and ambiance. http://theironfairies.com/ Iron Fairies 394 Thonglor Road (Sukhumvit Soi 55), opposite Ton Krueng Thai Restaurant, Bangkok tel +66 (0)84 425 8080 Open Monday-Saturday, 6pm to 2am Stop 1: Duke's Express Stop 2: Bully's Pub Stop 3: Bangkok Burger Company Stop 4: Iron Fairies
  4. The cult series Absolutely Fabulous! which ruled the airwaves in many countries for more than 10 years is to return to screens in the UK next year with three 'specials' to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary. All the original cast will be back, including the two principals, Jennifer Saunders and the wonderful Joanna Lumley as her Stoly/Bolly drinking best-pal Patsy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-14700772
  5. She is getting the headlines and in the end that is all she cares about.
  6. I think most people are in the grey area of sexuality. I prefer men and love to have sex with them. But, if a beautiful woman throws herself at me, I am most likely to say what the hell and give it a go. I was totally straight until I was 28. Well, at least in public. I was a closet case who still dated women for show and men on the downlow. I got over that and now date men mostly. I do have one lady I dated in the last 10 years and still enjoy her company from time to time but she wants something more monogamous. That is not a word I am good at especially when I now that I'd be attracted to her brother.
  7. If you are in Bangkok on Sept 1, drop by the Balcony at 10PM to see Toi perform. I have seen him many times in Pattaya and really enjoyed the show!

  12. Perth – Children in an Australia “Christian” school have been asked whether homosexuality is “the sickest sin” in a school assignment. The homework given to 14 and 15-year-olds at Armadale Christian College, also also points them to bible quotes describing homosexuality as an “abomination”, and describes “coming out of the closet” as “open sinning”. Inquiries by The Sunday Times have prompted Education Minister Liz Constable to order Department of Education Services staff to go to the school to ensure it was “satisfying registration requirements”. “(This is) to assess the lesson content being used by the school in relation to their Religion and Life syllabus,” Dr Constable said on Friday. Meanwhile, Stephen Lee, chief executive officer of Swan Christian Education Association, which encompasses the Armadale school, said his association would “review the use of this material” and teaching materials used at other SCEA schools, following questions from The Sunday Times. One question in the assignment given to the Year 10 students in June was: “Is homosexuality the sickest sin there is?” Another question asked what God said about homosexuality and pointed to Bible quotes for the answer, which called it an “abomination”. The assignment also stated that homosexuality was a “compromise for the need to be loved and accepted”, resulting for many from “low self-esteem (and) gender emptiness”. Also on the assignment was: “Many people say that homosexuality is an inborn trait. Is a person born greedy, jealous, malicious, gossiper, slanderer, thief, child abuser, serial killer?” Relatives of children in the Year 10 class expressed “disgust” about what they called “bigotry” in the assignment, which under its heading “Homosexuality”, had the biblical quote: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? … Neither fornicators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites”. Dani Wright, coordinator of youth support service Freedom Centre, said discrimination through such teaching could lead to mental health issues and even suicide. She said blanket policies were needed about homophobia in schools because, while the WA Equal Opportunity Act did not allow sexual-orientation discrimination, there were “loopholes” for religious institutions. One student’s relative, James Notman, praised the Minister’s quick action on the matter, and said such “extremist” teachings could “seriously damage the mental well-being” of some children at a time of life when questions of sexuality were of huge importance. “I also went to a Christian private school, but what we were taught about homosexuality was that we should all love and accept everyone as the same, because it doesn’t matter whether you’re gay, straight, male, female, we’re all humans and we’re all equal,” he said. Mr Lee said the assignment was used to “facilitate discussion on Christian views” as part of a lesson within the WA Curriculum Council course Religion and Life. He said the section which had the question that asked about the “sickest sin”, identified “numerous” views on homosexuality, including that it was an illness, in context of views that it may be genetic, an inborn trait or a lifestyle choice. Mr Lee said that the school was not teaching any of these view points, but was “facilitating discussion on common views in society”. http://m.news.com.au/WA/pg/0/fi806086.htm
  13. The man who allegedly murdered Charles Jones in Thailand was a Talented Mr Ripley-type figure who preyed on gay tourists for cash, a close friend of the Kiwi said. Thai police yesterday arrested a 22-year-old Syrian named "Mohammed" for the brutal stabbing of Jones in the resort of Pattaya. Police found $40,000 in cash, as well as Jones' laptop, mobile phones and his watch when they arrested Mohammed. Stuart Yeatman, who discovered Jones' body, said the Syrian national had completely changed his appearance since the murder, cutting his hair and buying new clothes. Yeatman described him as a "professional thief" who befriended tourists before robbing them, and likened him to the lead character out of the movie The Talented Mr Ripley. He said: "This guy would have relied on the fact that the people he robbed were quite secretive and guarded. He was a professional thief. I think he felt it was just another tourist." Yeatman described the police investigation as "relentless". Police were planning to re-enact the murder in Jones' high-rise apartment in the next few days. Jones' brother-in-law, who asked not to be named, said the arrest changed nothing. "We have still lost a loved one." Jones' body will be back in the country in time for a funeral in Westport on Saturday. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10747892
  14. Thanks for the link to that video. I had not seen it yet. I agree that we need more companies like Apple. But, we need them to start making their products in America. We need them to do it all in the USA. It will not hurt Apple to do this.

  16. New Software Update today.
  17. A great article in the NY Times today by Cornell West. I have always love reading his opinion and listening to him talk. Read this article if you have time. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/26/opinion/martin-luther-king-jr-would-want-a-revolution-not-a-memorial.htm "As the talk show host Tavis Smiley and I have said in our national tour against poverty, the recent budget deal is only the latest phase of a 30-year, top-down, one-sided war against the poor and working people in the name of a morally bankrupt policy of deregulating markets, lowering taxes and cutting spending for those already socially neglected and economically abandoned. Our two main political parties, each beholden to big money, offer merely alternative versions of oligarchic rule. " Do you feel he hit the nail on the head? Is he missing something? Or, pretty damn accurate?
  18. One of the things I like the most about Amazon.com's is their recommended list on my homepage every day. Sometimes I find something I want, and sometimes I do not. However, they are pretty close when it comes to my book selection. I only buy Kindle books. I have only purchased one hard book in the last year. Other than that book, the only other hard copy books that I purchased@Amazon.com are photography books. Everything else is a book that I downloaded to my Kindle and my iPad. Today TampaYankee mentioned a mattress that he had purchased online. I went to Amazon.com to find something similar and found many that I liked. Knowing that I will be back in the USA for several months next year, and knowing that I need a good mattress, I put this mattress in my wish list. This way when I know more of my plans all I have to do is go to my wish list and move it to my cart. As I said before, Amazon is one of my favorite websites.I don't think I will ever reach the status of Amazon.com not having something to recommend for me to purchase.
  19. We have had over 100 posts in the last 24 hours. Fantastic! I love it! Thank you all for supporting the site!
  20. I went to one of the 7 Sister schools. It turned coed the year I started and was one of less than 20 males in the school for over a year. The college was east coast liberal and I would not hesitate putting that I was gay on my application (but I wasn't open back then). However, I know too many college administrators and I just got off the phone with 2 of them and they both said that if you go high enough up the food chain, that an admin most certainly can detail any admission decision.
  21. That was his opinion FloridaRob, what did you think? Also, they cater to a mainly Thai audience, you can't get upset if they don't understand your question. The size of the burgers are on the menu (in grams). I doubt a Thai would know much more how to tell you how big. They seem to get dick size wrong here, so I am not surprised that burger size is hard. I left totally full after eating the smaller burger. But, I will admit to having the desert. I'll give the place another try and see if the larger burger satisfies me. I also have to try Iron Fairies for a friend.
  22. Just curious to see where the majority of members live or spend most of their time. I have really enjoyed my time in Bangkok but it is coming to an end next month and I'm headed back to USA and South America. I know I'll return again soon but have not yet decided on my next long stay destination in Thailand. Where do you stay? Why?
  23. I usually go to Hero every weekend as I am never disappointed. A friend who is visiting Bangkok suggested that I try Fan Club Massage off of Soi Convent. I remember going there once a few years back but he said he has had 3 guys in the last few weeks and all 3 excellent. Anyone else like Fan Club? Recommend it?
  24. Great video. Keep up the good work!
  25. I just saw this movie and thought it was adorable. It is about a feminine gay boy in the Philippians. It is the story of his love, his life, his family and his desires. It is really a very sweet movie. If you have not seen it, give it a try!
