I am down to my last few weeks in LOS before I head back to USA and Brazil. Anything of interest going on in Bangkok that I should see before I leave?

I hate overnighters. I can't sleep well and always wonder if the person is up to no good. I always ask them to leave no matter what time it is but I always discuss that before hand. I do have 2 boys that currently live with me full time but that is a bit different than a one night hookup. If I trusted someone and knew them, I'd be happy to let them stay overnight. But, someone I don't know well or just recently met, I much prefer a romp and then a goodbye kiss.

AGs wants online ads for illegal activities gone Attorney General Michael Delaney and 46 other state attorneys general on Wednesday requested information about how the website Backpage.com attempts to remove advertising for sex trafficking, specifically advertisements that could involve minors. The website has been involved in several cases this year in New Hampshire, involving advertisements for items ranging from drugs to escort services. In a letter to the online classified site’s lawyers, the attorneys general say that Backpage.com claims it has strict policies to prevent illegal activity, but legal officials in numerous states, including New Hampshire, have found hundreds of ads on Backpage.com’s regional sites that would appear to involve illegal services. The letter states, “Nearly naked persons in provocative positions are pictured in nearly every adult services advertisement on Backpage.com and the site requires advertisements for escorts, and other similar ‘services’ to include hourly rates. It does not require forensic training to understand that these advertisements are for prostitution.” The letter says the website is a popular destination for individuals seeking to exploit minors and points to more than 50 cases, in 22 states over three years, involving the trafficking or attempted trafficking of minors through Backpage.com. “These are only the stories that made it into the news; many more instances likely exist,” the attorneys general wrote. “Traffickers who exploit runaways and other disadvantaged kids shouldn’t be provided with a tool that makes that process so much easier,” said Delaney. “The only way for Backpage.com to completely stop child sex trafficking on its site is to take down adult services advertisements altogether and take aggressive steps to be sure such posts don’t appear elsewhere on the site.” Attorney General Delaney added that kids aren’t capable, legally or otherwise, to consent to be sold for sex. And regardless of a prostitute’s age, it’s difficult to know whether the person advertised is being coerced. “I don’t know of any specific instances involving advertisements involving minors taking place in New Hampshire, but it is well documented that these advertisements appear on the site across the country,” said Delaney. Last January, a Manchester man, Harold R. Maylone, 32, was charged with intent to commit sale of a controlled drug, after police said he tried to sell OxyContin tablets for $2,550 to an undercover officer, after posting an ad for $50 a pill on Backpage.com. In May, ETEA Weight Loss Spa in Salem was forced to cease and desist operations, after the owner, Lori Barron, 47, of Salem was charged with two counts of prostitution-related offenses after allegedly posting ads at the website to hire people to give massages and provide sex services (and advertising those services at the site as well). Last January, Portsmouth police say a 16-year-old girl was advertised and sold as a prostitute through the site. There were 59 advertisements for escort services in the state of New Hampshire at the site just yesterday. Backpage.com, owned by Village Voice Media, LLC, is a top provider of ‘adult services’ advertisements. The multimedia company, which owns 13 weekly newspapers in the United States, admits its involvement in advertising illegal services. In a meeting with staff at the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, Village Voice board member Don Moon readily acknowledged prostitution ads appear on the Web site. And in a June 29 article published nationally by the Village Voice, the corporation criticized those concerned about child sex trafficking as “prohibitionists bent on ending the world’s oldest profession,” acknowledging that, as a seller of adult services ads, “Village Voice has a stake in this story.” Industry analysts suggest that Village Voice’s stake in adult services advertisements is worth about $22.7 million in annual revenue. Many state attorneys general believe that Backpage.com is attempting to minimize the impact of child sex trafficking because they fear it will turn attention to the company’s robust prostitution advertising business. While Backpage.com has ramped up its effort to screen some ads for minors, the attorneys general involved in today’s letter believe that “Backpage.com sets a minimal bar for content review in an effort to temper public condemnation, while ensuring that the revenue spigot provided by prostitution advertising remains intact.” The letter from state attorneys general makes a series of requests to Backpage.com, asking that the company willingly provide information in lieu of a subpoena. The letter asks that Backpage.com describe in detail its understanding of what it considers to be “illegal activity,” and whether advertisements for prostitution fall into that category. The attorneys general also ask, among other requests, how many advertisements in its adult section and subsections have been submitted since Sept. 1, 2010, how many of those advertisements were individually screened, how many were rejected and how many were removed after being discovered to be for illegal services. In 2008, 42 attorneys general reached an agreement with Craigslist to crack down on illegal listings, in an effort to reduce crimes like human trafficking. Craigslist ultimately removed its “erotic services” section altogether in May 2009. In September 2010, 21 attorneys general wrote Backpage.com to request that the adult services section be closed. The states signing on to the letter are Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming and the territory of Guam. http://www.unionleader.com/article/20110901/NEWS03/709019981 Read the comments afterwards in support of legalizing prostitution.

I have a friend in USA that went to his dentist and has to get some dental work. They quoted him 18,000 US for the work. He wrote to ask me about Periodontists in Bangkok. I don't know of any. Any suggestions? Places to check? He can then contact them to get quotes. Thanks. Michael

Stop 1: Duke's Express Stop 2: Bully's Pub Stop 3: Bangkok Burger Company Stop 4: Iron Fairies Stop 5: Roadhouse Roadhouse BBQ: I have eaten at the Roadhouse many times over the years and always have a good time there. The prices are a bit high but the food is good and it is close to the gay bars. Corner of Surawong & Rama 4, Tel. 02-236-8010, Website: www.roadhousebarbecue.com The boys and I went today to test their burgers. We all tried a burger with different cheese and different toppings. We also had beer and soda. The burgers are made of Australian beef and they taste pretty good. The bacon is cooked great and not raw like a lot of places in Thailand serve them. The fries are tasty but full of grease. So much grease in fact, the boys put a napkin on one and it was drenched with grease. The burgers are 345 each and IMHO, that is too much for what you get. Both the burgers at Iron Fairies and BBC are better burgers and we left with a much better feeling. All three of us gave the burgers 3 out of 5. And we gave the place a few marks down for prices and fries. So, we give it a 2.5 out of 5 total. If you are in the area, the burgers are good. They are just not the quality of Bully's, Iron Fairies or Bangkok Burger Company. However, if you have a craving for a burger in the area, drop by and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. I have had their ribs on several occasions and they were good. Most of the time.

I really enjoy True Blood. I like the idea of witches and can't wait to see the final episode. I love the sex scenes and the one where the hottie brother was "raped" by all the women panthers was so funny. I wish this season showed more sex, but we have had a good bit of sex. I love the Marnie character and can't wait to see Bill fuck her in the ass!

An alleged cannibal in Russia has been arrested after confessing to stabbing, killing, and then eating a 32-year-old man met using a gay dating service. The 21-year-old man, identified only as Ivan L reportedly confessed to eating the gay man, identified as Roman E, in the city of Murmansk, in the extreme north-west of Russia. The English-language Russian news agency RIA Novosti quotes Murmansk Investigation Committee chief Fyodor Bludenov as saying: “the defendant wanted to try eating at least 10 people in the future. “It wasn’t that he had an extraordinary hatred for those of a different sexual orientation, but he was sure that such people [gay men] would keep a secret about who they were meeting, so it would be harder to catch him. “The accused stabbed the man a few times, and after having assured himself that the man was dead, he cut up his body and ate him.” It is claimed that Ivan L posted video clips online of his culinary achievements. The investigation committee indicated that the case is not unique, stating that it has been 20 years since the last case of cannibalism in the city of just 307,700. http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2011/08/31/russian-cannibal-confesses-to-eating-gay-man-he-met-on-gay-dating-website/

Stop 4: Iron Fairies The boys and I tried Iron Fairies tonight. I had been there before with a friend a few years back and had a good time but we sat at the bar. I didn't go upstairs. Tonight, we were upstairs. There is no place in Bangkok like Iron Fairies. It is unique. It is interesting. There was live music tonight which had a jazzy sound. The tables are not comfortable and neither are the stools but the place is alive with sound and people. It is a very small place and every-time I have been there, it has been packed. Tonight was no exception. It was packed and we waited a bit for the table. The place is right around the corner from Bangkok Burger Company in Thong Lor area. Once again, I really like this area and the vibe of the entire place. Iron Fairies is a restaurant, bar, music place, blacksmith shop, art gallery and trinket place. Yes, it has a lot going on. It is hard to explain other than it is lit by candles at night and fun. See the photos on the website as they are very realistic of the place. I have also attached a few we took. The burgers are great. Real Australian Beef Burgers. They are the biggest we have eaten to date and all 3 of us gave them a 4 our of 5. We loved the fries and they are the best fries (really potato wedges). We tried 3 different burgers and all three were great. The cost for fries are extra. We also had beer and soft drinks. There were 3 of us and the bill came out to just over 1800 baht. We give Iron Fairies 4 our of 5 for burgers and a 5 out of 5 for uniqueness and ambiance. http://theironfairies.com/ Iron Fairies 394 Thonglor Road (Sukhumvit Soi 55), opposite Ton Krueng Thai Restaurant, Bangkok tel +66 (0)84 425 8080 Open Monday-Saturday, 6pm to 2am Stop 1: Duke's Express Stop 2: Bully's Pub Stop 3: Bangkok Burger Company Stop 4: Iron Fairies

I think most people are in the grey area of sexuality. I prefer men and love to have sex with them. But, if a beautiful woman throws herself at me, I am most likely to say what the hell and give it a go. I was totally straight until I was 28. Well, at least in public. I was a closet case who still dated women for show and men on the downlow. I got over that and now date men mostly. I do have one lady I dated in the last 10 years and still enjoy her company from time to time but she wants something more monogamous. That is not a word I am good at especially when I now that I'd be attracted to her brother.

Perth – Children in an Australia “Christian” school have been asked whether homosexuality is “the sickest sin” in a school assignment. The homework given to 14 and 15-year-olds at Armadale Christian College, also also points them to bible quotes describing homosexuality as an “abomination”, and describes “coming out of the closet” as “open sinning”. Inquiries by The Sunday Times have prompted Education Minister Liz Constable to order Department of Education Services staff to go to the school to ensure it was “satisfying registration requirements”. “(This is) to assess the lesson content being used by the school in relation to their Religion and Life syllabus,” Dr Constable said on Friday. Meanwhile, Stephen Lee, chief executive officer of Swan Christian Education Association, which encompasses the Armadale school, said his association would “review the use of this material” and teaching materials used at other SCEA schools, following questions from The Sunday Times. One question in the assignment given to the Year 10 students in June was: “Is homosexuality the sickest sin there is?” Another question asked what God said about homosexuality and pointed to Bible quotes for the answer, which called it an “abomination”. The assignment also stated that homosexuality was a “compromise for the need to be loved and accepted”, resulting for many from “low self-esteem (and) gender emptiness”. Also on the assignment was: “Many people say that homosexuality is an inborn trait. Is a person born greedy, jealous, malicious, gossiper, slanderer, thief, child abuser, serial killer?” Relatives of children in the Year 10 class expressed “disgust” about what they called “bigotry” in the assignment, which under its heading “Homosexuality”, had the biblical quote: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? … Neither fornicators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites”. Dani Wright, coordinator of youth support service Freedom Centre, said discrimination through such teaching could lead to mental health issues and even suicide. She said blanket policies were needed about homophobia in schools because, while the WA Equal Opportunity Act did not allow sexual-orientation discrimination, there were “loopholes” for religious institutions. One student’s relative, James Notman, praised the Minister’s quick action on the matter, and said such “extremist” teachings could “seriously damage the mental well-being” of some children at a time of life when questions of sexuality were of huge importance. “I also went to a Christian private school, but what we were taught about homosexuality was that we should all love and accept everyone as the same, because it doesn’t matter whether you’re gay, straight, male, female, we’re all humans and we’re all equal,” he said. Mr Lee said the assignment was used to “facilitate discussion on Christian views” as part of a lesson within the WA Curriculum Council course Religion and Life. He said the section which had the question that asked about the “sickest sin”, identified “numerous” views on homosexuality, including that it was an illness, in context of views that it may be genetic, an inborn trait or a lifestyle choice. Mr Lee said that the school was not teaching any of these view points, but was “facilitating discussion on common views in society”. http://m.news.com.au/WA/pg/0/fi806086.htm

The man who allegedly murdered Charles Jones in Thailand was a Talented Mr Ripley-type figure who preyed on gay tourists for cash, a close friend of the Kiwi said. Thai police yesterday arrested a 22-year-old Syrian named "Mohammed" for the brutal stabbing of Jones in the resort of Pattaya. Police found $40,000 in cash, as well as Jones' laptop, mobile phones and his watch when they arrested Mohammed. Stuart Yeatman, who discovered Jones' body, said the Syrian national had completely changed his appearance since the murder, cutting his hair and buying new clothes. Yeatman described him as a "professional thief" who befriended tourists before robbing them, and likened him to the lead character out of the movie The Talented Mr Ripley. He said: "This guy would have relied on the fact that the people he robbed were quite secretive and guarded. He was a professional thief. I think he felt it was just another tourist." Yeatman described the police investigation as "relentless". Police were planning to re-enact the murder in Jones' high-rise apartment in the next few days. Jones' brother-in-law, who asked not to be named, said the arrest changed nothing. "We have still lost a loved one." Jones' body will be back in the country in time for a funeral in Westport on Saturday. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10747892

Thanks for the link to that video. I had not seen it yet. I agree that we need more companies like Apple. But, we need them to start making their products in America. We need them to do it all in the USA. It will not hurt Apple to do this.
