Visiters to hotels. 18 and 19 year olds banned by som hotels
ChristianPFC replied to Travellerdave's topic in Gay Thailand
I wanted get an expert opinion on age limits in hotels, so I emailed this question to stickmanweekly, who forwareded it to Sunbelt Legal who replied here http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/StickmanWeeklyColumn2015/Meeting-Good-Thai-Girls.htm There is no law about visitors to hotel guests! I didn't know either. I forgot definitions: guest is the person who checks into the room (the hotel's customer), whereas visitor is someone who has no business with the hotel. A hostel I stayed at in Bali did not allow visitors to room, only to lobby. -
With arrival one day, stay one night, departure other day, how do you fit in Koh Larn? If you like beach it is a good idea; if you want some culture, I recommend Koh Si Chang instead, which is on the way (off the coast of Sri Ratcha) from Pattaya to Bangkok and has former royal palace grounds (Vinmanmek mansion used to be there) with park and famous Chinese temple and is less touristy. (I will travel to Koh Larn again some day to check if I missed something when I went around 2011, or if my assessment that Koh Larn's fame is only in being off the coast of Pattaya was correct.)

Such prices are not unheard of. I had one boy from Saranrom for 300 ST and another one for 800 LT, but in both cases it was the boy's suggestion. And Pattaya expats report 500 ST. But I would not offer such low prices when coming as a tourist. There was one exception: I was not horny, it was late and a cute boy was trying to get my business, so I asked him if he wants to go with me for 500, and he did. But this was mainly to confirm what I have heard (that you can get boy for 500 ST in Pattaya), on all subsequent encounters I tipped him 1000. On the other hand, there are boys who ask for unreasonable amounts. (Personal experience: around 2011 a boy at ICK disco offered me short time for 2500, and around 2013 a boy in G.O.D. asked for 3500 for short time.) I dislike (I hate) haggling over prices, whether for goods or for services, I let the boy make one offer that I either take or leave, or I make an offer (which would be 1000 ST or 1500 LT in the case above) and the boy can either take it or leave it. In most cases we don't talk about prices at all. However if the case quoted is by someone who likes haggling, than I can't see anything indecent, if they arrive at an acceptable fee in the end. It's common practice in SE Asian markets aimed at tourists to ask grossly inflated prices (I bought a souvenir in Bali, haggled down from 10 USD to 1 USD!), here it's the other way round. It all depends on the circumstances.

39 Underground is busy on weekend afternoon, Deja Vu on their staff naked party (thursday around 9pm), Farose 2 on weekends from 11 pm on, even with disco and unlimited free drinks (alcoholic as well! from 2 am the drunks fall asleep in the venue)

Tourist visa is 60 days + 30 days extensions for 1900 Baht. Even a foreigner who lives cheaply spends much more than the average Thai and thereby contributes to the Thai economy.

That's the first time I hear of problems when accessing my blog. But as other comments here show it seems to a problem with your computer, not my blog. What do you mean by "log into"? I deliberately allowed anonymous comments (although I recommend everyone sign their comment with a name), so my blog can be accessed and commented on from everywhere (unless blocked by local government - recent comment elsewhere by pong from China?) without log-in. I put Google AdSense on my blog, but wouldn't go any further as I dislike intruding advertising like on thaivisa or coconuts bangkok.

If you were planning a weekend out of Bangkok...
ChristianPFC replied to LAguy's topic in Gay Thailand
That particular train I would not recommend. There is only one train in each direction, only on weekdays. Leaves Bangkok 6:55 (morning!); return from Pattaya 14:21. Train station in Pattaya is far from tourist areas, and train can be slow (schedule 4 hours, where bus would take 2-3). I did it only once http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/02/pattaya-16-19022014.html and http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/02/addendum-to-recent-pattaya-trip.html, now go by van. Everywhere else in Thailand, I go by train if possible. First picture is Wat Thawornwararam in Kanchanaburi town, about 3 km from Death Railway bridge. When I went it was raining, so I cut my visit short, but will go again. Second and third picture is Wat Tham Sua and Wat Tham Khao Noi, about 15 km from Death Railway bridge. No public transport, but well worth hiring a car from town. Highly recommended, I went last year: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/11/wat-tham-sua-in-kanchanaburi-province.html -
Or maybe better make your offer first? I hate haggling, and when I go to Boys^3 again, I will ask the boy if he wants to go with me for 1000, after some small talk in Thai so he knows I'm not there for the first time.
-
Yes the poor street vendors! I can just stay in all day if it rains, but they can't and in addition to inconvenience by rain customer number will be lower. Since about a week ago, it has been raining every day in Bangkok. But not the usual short heavy downpour, but light to medium all day. I had to cancel several trips.

Drinks in Screw Boys are 300 Baht (or did you get a late night promotion 250 shortly before closing?) I got a similar replay from a Sunee boys whom I told I am going to Boystown.

I have been paying 1000 for ST in Pattaya since I first came here in 2010, and every boy would immediately go with me again. Some extraordinary got 1200 for ST. There was a poll some time ago about tips on one of the forums. Thanks for everyone's contribution regarding the attempts to push ST to 1500 in some bars. When I asked in BoysBoysBoys in August, staff told me ST 1500, but when I left without a boy and they asked why I go alone and I told them 1500 is too much, it seemed there is room for negotiation, and next time I will explore this room, if there is an empty seat next to me so I chat with the boy first.

There is a running track and with several fitness points around Phratamnak hill in Pattaya, and a simple open air gym near the entrance to the park. I saw large numbers of Thai and Farang running and using the equipment there when I went for runs. Some areas are cruisy.

Opinions about BKK saunas used nearly exclusively by locals
ChristianPFC replied to steveboy's topic in Gay Thailand
http://www.travelgayasia.com/bangkok-gay-saunas/ has up-to-date information of gay saunas in Bangkok, often with reader's comments. Although currently only 17 saunas out of 24 I know are on their list. -
I guess most hotels wouldn't allow 3 people to stay in a room that is for 2. You would have to make arrangements for an extra (3rd) bed. bkkmfj2648, what kind of beds did you have in the rooms, single plus double?Even I (age 35), sometimes ponder going out (disco or late night sauna), but then decide that a good sleep is better than any sex I can expect.

That's exactly what I said: "BTW most discos and saunas have minimum age 20 years for customers." I know that from hear-say (I haven't read Thai law in original or English translation), however I don't know the law for hotels. Asked at Malaysia reception: the rule has been long time, it's only know that they enforce minimum age for visitor 20 years. Before they let 18 and 19 year olds in. -
Please report, I am curious about this massage but want more feedback before investing time and money.

That's interesting, I feel similar. Bottoming doesn't give me much pleasure, I do it only with boys I like who are top only, but wouldn't pay anyone to fuck me. When lying flat on my stomach, I feel like needing to piss (but not in other positions). True bottoms are probably wired differently.

I recently visited friend in Lee guesthouse, looks fine. The Blooms further away from Malaysia hotel, past Tivoli hotel. Both are budget, The Blooms has rooms with monthly rent about 6000 Baht. New place http://sribumpenplus.com/ opened a few months ago, however starting from 1000 Baht per night is luxury by my standards.

Saranrom (around the park and palace) gets busy from 10 pm. I once met an available boy in the park in the evening, but have been only a few times in the evening (but many times at night). The Vietnamese boys were happy with 800 Baht + SGD to make a total of 1000 Baht? As far as I know, they ask for 1500 or even 2000 for short time. The top/bottom issue with straight boys is a bit more complicated. You would have to ask a straight boy before offing and with nobody in hearing distance if he is willing to bottom.

Anal sex is cultural imperialism by the porn industry. I do a lot of wanking with boys (some people claim wanking is no sex, can do that alone at home), and the one or other fuck, top or bottom. I know people who don't do anal at all and are happy. I'm more top, use lube and don't know how the boy cleans his ass. Had only one surprise in a sauna, it was quite dark so I didn't see it, but when taking off condom I noticed some matter on condom and on my finger, after some seconds of wondering it dawned on me, then I had to walk with it (condom and dirty hand) to a bathroom.

A friend who stays at Malaysia confirms: recently new rule minimum age for visitor 20 years and they enforce it. BTW most discos and saunas have minimum age 20 years for customers. Don't know if this is by law or arbitrary decision of management. -
From flyer "Public transportation at Suvarnabhumi Airport" 2013: Bus 389 stops at gate 8 on 1st floor passenger terminal, 5:30 am or 7 am to 9:00 pm. Departs hourly. Fare 134 Baht, ends at parking at Food Mart Jomtien (walking distance to Jomtien Complex). Two years ago, I found the Friday afternoon bus booked out some times (i.e. I had to wait over an hour).

I was happy with Chang Puak hotel (in walking distance to gay bars and Chang Puak bus station - I do a lot of travel by public transport so this is important to me) for 700 Baht (?) per night last year. This year I stayed in Green Palace (500 Bath (?), near Mall Had Suan Kaew and House of Male Sauna) for exploring area west of the moat.

Sorry, can't help you with becoming a paid member on gboysiam. I don't think any of the boys who post there is a paid member. Just had a look at registration, it's mainly in Thai, I can understand, but I see no need for me to register at the moment.
