he may be deleting this screen name, but he may have other screen names active in these forums.  there are at least 2-3 others that appear as fake accounts, yet heavily engaged from time to time.  

Some of them post detailed trip reports - but if you read them closely they are just recycled information from other posters here.  No new information and when they do provide some details, they frequently are red flags that contradict known information. 

They are usually new members (or maybe a year at the most) with relatively few postings but they ALWAYS ask for referrals to specific escorts.  Another common element of fake accounts/trolls is focusing on getting bareback sex from escorts.  

Frequently they are “planning” a trip, but the trips don’t happen and no trip reports obviously.

I am so naïf. 

Some members here seem to enjoy & support the trolls - even after they’ve been exposed.

You do this (by “this”, I mean mongering around the globe and reading/participating in various message boards and groups about mongering) long enough, and you learn that there are a whole lot of bad-faith posters / clients / travelers out there. Some who are so sociopathic that they care nothing about another human being as long as their own prurient interests are taken care of. Some who view those that are economically disadvantaged or just not lucky enough to have been born in a first-world country as somehow “less than”. Some who care nothing about any lives that can be ruined by their public disclosures, so long as they can read a hot porn story or see a face attached to a dick. Some who exaggerate or just outright make shit up about their travels and encounters, just to titillate or fool readers.

There are readers / posters here and elsewhere that I’m not particularly popular with because I don’t play in these reindeer games. Like I said before, I’m cool with that — I’d much rather maintain my good relationships with the locals where I travel. I leave the USA to avoid this kind of mess — not to socialize and fraternize with them once I go abroad.

I’ve been active on this forum for 17 months. At first, as an observer and gradually more participation, culminating in a trip to SP and extensive trip report.  What a full circle education into the good & bad of online behavior.  As mentioned, I don’t participate in any other “social media” as I was always suspect about things that could happen.

Here are my takeaways after 17 months here - there are 3 kinds of people using this forum. Basically about a third of the members fall into each category 

1 the good guys that post real information with good intentions & willing to help others. this group is savvy & actually travels and has real experience.  I’ve learned from this group and am grateful.  I probably wouldn’t have for to SP without knowledge gained here.  Now it’s my favorite place in Brazil and can’t wait to go back.  Likewise, Medellin is now on my list thanks to legitimate information posted here.

2. guys with good intentions but terrible decision making - frequently posting unrealistic trip expectations or scenarios where I just can’t believe that anyone could be so foolish.  Or posting equally ridiculous stories about Brazilian “namorados” aka sex-workers and all the foibles that correspond to that line of fantasy.  This group doesn’t mean any harm - they just dont operate in the real world for whatever reason and probably get themselves into bad situations, routinely.  They probably also don’t have great experiences with sex-workers because they will sense when someone is flaky fast. 

3. the trolls/lurkers/time-wasters/abusers/imposters/fakes - they come on here for a variety of reasons.  some are living vicariously through real stories posted here, some want contacts for unadvertised sex-workers to harass, some want to engage with other members to ask details about sexual encounters to get off, some want to post lengthy fake trip reports for attention & to gain other members confidence (a con-game), some just want to irritate as trolls, etc.  the common thread Ives identified with this group is either always planning a trip that doesn’t happen, asking for specific referrals to sex-workers and a weird preoccupation with forcing bareback sex. 

the good here far outweighs the bad for me  & I’ve quickly learned how to spot the trolls operating here.  and you all should too.  the quicker they are shut down & identified, the better for all the members here that operate in good faith.

It is generally considered rude and selfish to ask questions that have already been answered on the forums. Questions are certainly welcome in forums like these, but you should provide some evidence that you've read the relevant posts and looked around before you ask the forum members further questions. Asking members to spoon feed you answers is not ok.

All of us here have asked questions at times, but you are likely to annoy other forum members if the answers to your questions are in a recent thread. If they are in an old thread, say so and ask if it still holds. Evidence that you've tried to get the answer from existing threads goes a long way towards getting friendly and useful replies.

I never would have thought there was so much beneath the surface. I assumed most people here just wanted information, though some seem to have more travel experience than others and some did more homework than others.

but, really - give it some thought: this is an anonymous forum with sex-tourism as the niche interest and members are posting detailed reports about experiences w sex-workers.  Of course it’s going to attract a lot of “voyeurs” curious about the content.  No harm there if they aren’t causing trouble.  This subject matter will also attract those with underlying sexual/psychological issues looking to get-off & who knows what else. This forum is prime territory for unwell people to play their games.

the lurkers/imposters/fakes/trolls are always going to be here.  but, if it’s known that they aren’t welcome & they are challenged when appropriate- then the worst ones will leave or just watch vs. engage.  The worst ones seem to want to engage & want some attention.

for those of you who did not understand what was at play here by the trolls/fakes - then you know it now and can take precautions to limit your vulnerability and exposure to the trolls.  They will be back - count on it.

the last one on here this weekend @richard265 went down kicking & screaming. but he went down after a bunch of very detailed posts in order gain confidence of others.  Unfortunately for the trolls, the core group of good guys knows way too many details about all the major destinations of interest here & the trolls inevitably make a mistake that shows they are fake.

I am no particular friend of Lucky, but I have been reading his posts for mote than 10 years on this board and on its previous incarnations, and this story is news to me. I would be interested in you substantiating this accusation before we all "move on".

I was the one who posted that. However, I never said Lucky was the one who made the comment text. I said that he was friendly with those who did it and authorized it.

Oh gosh, @Slvkguy you sure can dish out the criticism but you just can't take any. I never commented on your posts critical of other forum members. My position on publicizing PMs applies to anyone, not just you.

@SolaceSoulthanks for the clarification. I still don't know what you are talking about. If I am friendly to another poster or posters, does that make me responsible for their behavior? I don't think so. I have no recollection of the incident of which you speak.

@forrestreidthanks for speaking up. Solace Soul has clarified that I did not do what he complains of.

So, yes I can take criticism because I’m an adult and understand everyone makes mistakes.

I generally agree with you about private messages - except when they are sent by trolls/fakes who are using the PMs to further their deceit.  That’s why I did it. And there was no personal information in that PM, so it was harmless, unlike the troll.

I will do what needs to be done when I encounter an obvious fake here.  There are still a few obvious ones right now.

You would probably feel different if you received text messages w multiple screenshots from a good guy garoto who was being harassed by a member from this site - while the harassing member is telling that garoto that you are his friend & you referred him.  Thus, implicating you as part of the harassment.  The member assuring the garoto he was on the way to SP and was “interviewing” him w dozens of invasive ridiculous questions.  Then you see the same member likely posing under different screen names here fishing for more information to do it again.  There’s a distinct pattern.  It’s always the same.

I believe we will now get a reprieve from the 3 or 4 screen-names that were operating as trolls.  And those 3-4 screen-names were very likely the same person.

They come here for a specific reason - the main fetish they all have in common is obsession w bareback sex with escorts.  Since they can longer indulge themselves in that subject without exposing themselves as trolls  - it’s like their oxygen has been cutoff.  If they continue to try the bareback sex discussions in these forums,  then you know it’s probably a troll.  They likely won’t hang around this forum if they know the other members are on to them.  And that makes the forum a better place for us.

Nobody likes condoms - but I’ve yet to meet an experienced traveler interested in sex tourism that doesn’t use condoms simply as protection against STIs.  My experience in Brazilian rentboy saunas over the years is that condoms  were non-negotiable although that may be changing now due to widespread access of Prep.  Likewise in BCN Termas condom use was always non-negotiable.

I’ve seen some comments here & there in this forum where bareback sex happens as a one-off in certain situations w rentboys, but that’s different from the trolls being obsessed with it in many of their posts and supposedly seeking out specific escorts for barebacking.

Regardless - having bareback sex with a professional sex-worker seems a bad decision given that same person would likely be having bareback sex with multiple partners every day.  Exponentially increasing the chances of the client picking up some sort of STI.

And yes, I know many American based escorts routinely offer bareback sex.  I personally avoid those people because I figure if they don’t care about their own bodies, then they sure don’t care about mine.  Likewise, when I see an escort offering PNP in on an online profile, that’s a hard no for me because I’m assuming that person has similarly poor judgment in others areas of their life that could affect me. 

None of this comes from a moral point of view, but practical and acknowledging reality and the facts.
