zoomomancs Posted June 27 Author Posted June 27 I know the education system isn't great here, some families don't have the money for school uniform and books to send children to school, some families expect or need their children to work. But some of the calculations that workers get a calculator out to do amaze me. eg 220 + 120; 120 - 116.5; 15 x 2. khaolakguy 1 Quote

I know Victor Churchill's over in Woollahra would have it or Stockmans the online butcher, but their's is most likely to be frozen, so expect a taste and texture impact. Quote

Popular Post zoomomancs Posted Sunday at 01:05 PM Author Popular Post Posted Sunday at 01:05 PM People get ready to take part in the 'Love Pride Parade', under the theme “Spectrum Forward: Power of Creation”, in Bangkok, Thailand on 29th June, 2025. The 6 kilometer parade from Suphachalasai National Stadium to Benchasiri Park was delayed by heavy rain. I don't even know if it went ahead as it was still raining when I left. zoomomancs Posted Wednesday at 07:10 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 07:10 PM The Pride Parade did start eventually, over an hour late, after the rain had slowed to a drizzle instead of a torrential downpour. People in it had put a lot of effort into their costumes and decorations so they deserved to be seen. FunFifties, vinapu, khaolakguy and 1 other 4 Quote
zoomomancs Posted Wednesday at 07:49 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 07:49 PM My last few nights in Bangkok I wasn't feeling 100% so I didn't take anyone back to the hotel. But at the end of a trip I always have a mental list of which men have treated me right and deserve an off or a bigger than usual tip. I took the Myanmar man, who is good at kissing, out from Good Boys (GB) to see Dreamboys, which he hadn't been to before, and he seemed to like that. He was surprised the hotel wasn't on my agenda afterwards. I know taking the men to another go go bar can be boring if they have been around for a while but can be ok if it's new to them. One of my favourite Vietnamese men in GB had asked me to take him again to the 'dance place' (Silom Soi 2) so I took him and his cousin, who hadn't been there before. On Sunday night it was quieter than I expected but I prefer that to it being jammo these days. If anyone is new to that Soi customers do need a passport, either on their phone or real to prove their age - over 20 last time I checked. Even I was checked the first time I went and I was 59 but they seem to know me now. And I never went, in this trip, to Silom Soi 4, or Hotmale or Jupiter or Banana. But I have been to all of those multiple times before and they're all worth a look. On Tuesday my flight from BKK to DOH was at 21.05. At 17.00 the rain was heavy so I ordered a Bolt taxi, not wanting to stand on Surawong getting drenched while trying to flag down a cab. Bolt arrived about 17.25 but Bangkok was traffic locked down at rush hour in the storm and it took 2 hours to get to BKK. Starting early was the right decision. BKK is a good airport and I was in the lounge in the new terminal with a farewell red wine in 40 minutes. Again using the e-gate so no exit stamp. Goodbye BKK for about the 56th time in 14 years. khaolakguy, vinapu, Travelingguy and 1 other 4 Quote

zoomomancs Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago One way they remember me at Silom Soi 2 (dj station) is that, some years ago, I slipped on a greasy slope there, smashed the beer bottle on the floor and needed stitches. Four staff were immediately on the case, fetching plasters to try, stemming the wound, finding staff member with motorbike. Four minutes later I was in Chulalongkorn Hospital A&E with 2 women pouring water on the wound. A young doctor arrives to see me. An anaesthetic injection in my thumb and some stitches later - 1500bt. jason1975, vinapu, Travelingguy and 1 other 2 2 Quote

zoomomancs Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Another story from the past. Once I wanted to report a crime and popped into a police station I was passing in central Thailand. I wrote out the details in English in capital letters. The police officer suggested coming to my hotel nearby. I assumed he wanted more details of the crime. He arrived in my room but every time I turned round, about three times, he fingered my arse. I didn't fancy him so made some excuse to get him to leave. I know we Caucasians are exotic and white (sorry, a sort of beige off pink colour) but ??. TiT. Quote
