I'll bet they live there.... a wise man once said, If you live in Thailand, you can't look forward to visiting Thailand..... living vs visiting are 2 different experiences and it shows on their faces.

I just came back from a month in Brasil.... My friend from NYC recently retired there and was trying to convince me to go live there, with the weak Real, real estate is a value.

So I looked at my time there thru a different lens, if I lived there. I did in 2004 but I knew it was a short time thing and I was renting, this time I came to the conclusion of the wise man, visiting is more fun than living there.... I feel more at home in Mexico.

Did you looked back with a different lense the time you visit mexico vs living in mexico before you decided to move to mexico? Maybe during that time, that wise man havent given his advice yet? Hehe

My reading was that it was celebrating "the love that dare not speak its name...."  That is, inter-generational and inter-racial, while recognising how impoverished in terms of physical and emotional comfort some elderly people feel in the West.

Or perhaps that's reading too much in to it. It just made me smile.

Mexico fees more like home, it's not a tourist destination where I live, although national tourists come during holidays or events.... and no, the wise man wasn't that old when I moved here. 😉

I do love the sentiment but if the image is promoting love for Thailand, then why is the farang wearing a Vietnamese singlet and drinking a Vietnamese beer? 😅 (don't get me wrong, I love Thailand and Viet guys too, but lol)

How many love Thailand and are always with Viet guys 🤷‍♂️
