It's either one or the other. If you try to come onto guys in a public toilet (which is not a gay venue), you risk getting bashed. Of course, some get excited by the danger, but if you don't want to court danger, don't do it, especially as an older man. Sooner or later you'll run into trouble, either legal or physical. I don’t think BKK is the best place for public toilet cruising. It used to be possible in the toilets in Silom Center, but there is always a cleaning person there now. I used to try it in the 90s, because in Tokyo where I was living, that was the easiest way to meet people, but never had any luck in BKK. If you want to try it, it still happens in Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, but if you’re older and not hung, it’s basically a waste of time.

Here’s how it works though.

You have to be in a cruisy toilet. Just any old restroom won’t do.

Stand at the urinal and play with your dick. If the guy next to you is interested, he’ll do the same.

Sometimes people just jerk off at the urinal. Sometimes, you can sneak into a stall, but that is less common now because security people are on to it, there are often cameras, and like I said in BKK, cleaning personnel seem to always be present.

There used to be a couple of guys who lived in the large apartment next to mine (they left aout 8 years ago). One was a regular at Telephone/Circus bar in the evenings meeting up with farang friends. The other cruised frequently in Silom Complex at Saladaeng BTS Station.
