Hey all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone has any info on Musclebar Saigon?

From their insta, it seems to be a gay bar but not sure if the muscle guys are available for hire (like the gogo bars in Thailand) or just hosts (like Spacehair in Phnom Penh)

Appreciate any info or experience you can share. 😁

It is show bar. 50/50 drag and muscle show.

Place for meeting with locals. You cannot "hire" dancers via bar.

But you may talk with them privately and if you will be lucky (depends on your age, how good you look and amount of money), maybe you will get agreement.

My tour guide from Siamroads took me there at the end of our day and evening touring.  He seemed friendly with some of the staff there. 

What I saw bears out what Moses has said. 

Some of the Muscle Boys that danced with the drag artists were very hot.  And the bar staff were very cute too!

Pretty clear to me. I put this bar in the loser bin category if the category were to be stripper bar styled after those in North America. But it’s not a stripper bar or bar/brothel. It is what it depicts: a place to drink and view some mainly look-not-touch buff guys that mere mortals may deign to ogle and tip. Screw that. Apart from the 4 performative add-ons it appears that you can purchase house money (like casino chips concept) bills to flick at your faves that they then ostensibly cash in as tips, much like the dumbass ribbon sash at Moonlight, or purchase medals to show your appreciation. That final option kinda sucks. Why would you want to, say, purchase 3 medals stratified by conventional worth to place around muscle pup necks and imply you are ranking your rating of their attractiveness? Who comes up with these stupid ideas? Mind you, the nation’s prostitution laws seem strict and and perhaps a lack of tendency for authorities to look the other way makes it difficult to expand club entertainment playbooks.

You'd be surprised how many would tip handsomely (a.k.a throw money at) such guys for mere "look-not-touch". It amazes me all the time.

Exactly! Good looking guys have their own "tail" of fans and monetize their popularity trough such shows. 

For clear understanding of that place: Vietnamese gay bars do not targeting tourists as a main customer group like in Thailand. Situation in VN is totally opposite: bars are for locals. Tourists are allowed to visit and will be served on the same level of hospitality. Go-go and host bars do not exists in VN, bars do not promote their waiters and dancers for to be private hired and do not provide such service.

Good to know. The thing is that no venues globally can explicitly describe what’s on tap erotically. Misleading works both ways: the good way wherein you can get into some pretty heavy table or private dance petting that you may not have expected as an option, perhaps with an ATM on the floor, and the bad way where you attend with hope against hope but leave with blue balls yet billfold intact. LOL
