I have met @ChristianPFC occasionally here in Bangkok and twice in Taipei where he had gone to learn Chinese. He is considerably younger than most posting here. Speaking near fluent Thai and being well accustomed to Thailand - has anyone travelled around this country as much as he, I wonder? - he can clearly attract guys for sex more cheaply than most. 

While I totally disagree with his comment about third world countries and the price of a sexual encounter being similar to a daily wage, if guys are prepared to spend time with him for less than for most posters here, as long as he respects them as individuals - and I am certain he does - he is as entitled to tip as he wishes and his boy du jour accepts.

The feedback I receive from my two decades of volunteering to promote safer sex among and provide mental health support to sex workers and vulnerable populations in Malaysia and Thailand is that sex workers don't generally charge on the basis of a customer's age, looks and/or language ability. If they did, most of the elderly farang would have been priced out of the market following the Asian "invasion" of the last ten years or so. 

They say looks, age and/or fluency in Thai don't necessarily compensate for a serious personality flaw.  They would be happier with an easygoing, easy-to-please, jolly sixty-year-old and be done in forty-five minutes  than with a prickly and fussy forty-year-old cheapskate bum who counts every baht and every minute.

I personally don't care what @ChristianPFC pays for the kind of guys he gets at the kind of places he frequents if it's a case of a willing buyer and a willing seller. But if he tries to wrangle too much of a bargain and take advantage of a poor man's desperate circumstances as he is wont to do, I wouldn't be surprised if one day he's going to end up on the front pages of The Thaiger as another farang casualty in Thailand and that day wouldn't have come too soon. 

What I do take issue with is his unhelpful comparisons and baseless analyses. Venues and working boys/girls aren't created equal and one simply can't compare the guys at the higher end establishments and the street hustlers he meets and squeezes and say that customers are paying too much for the former. The greed and cruelty aside, it's simply misleading and misrepresentative to newbies reading this forum. He should confine his remarks to the shitholes he visits and is accustomed to "all over Thailand".

In my vast experience, if you take someone from a higher-end establishment or pick up someone from street-trade, if you 500 or 2000 for the encounter, there is no correlation to the service delivered. That's why I go for lower end.

Can you elaborate on "greed and cruelty"? The misrepresention is presenting expected tips of 2000 THB as the norm. I provide an opposing view that a good time can be had for much less (1000 online vs. 500 own drink, 500 boy drink, 500 off fee, 2000 short time tip = 4500). 

Furthermore, I wish to point out that my various detractors have never met me and judge me by what I write, whereas members who have met me and know me in person defend me against unfounded accusations.
