Its a day to celebrate the memory of loved ones or strangers who sacrificed for us, and allowed us to live in a Democracy up until now... What WORD would you have used, since happy seems to have triggered you a week later....? Quote

All of the suggested alternatives are just too wordy. I dont really see anyone saying those things when offering acknowlegment of the day to friends or family..... Happy seems benign enough to be given and accepted without issue, except to those that obviously get triggered by it. I appreciate you giving me a course corrector. However since only ONE person even acknowledged my post, I think we can put this to rest until next year, when I WILL NOT post about the day. Quote

It's what Trump posted " Happy Memorial Day" That'll keep you from saying that ever again 😝 Quote

If Trump said it, I will never say it AGAIN. floridarob and Patanawet 1 1 Quote
PeterRS Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I cannot imagine any Day recognizing the sacrifice of so many as "happy". And although the USA may regard the day as being one honouring the sacrifice of its own citizens, it is I suggest pertinent to recognize that tens of millions all over the world sacrificed their lives in defence of precisely what those brave American man and women died fighting for. I accept that other countries have their own armistice day. Is it not time for one world day when all who died worldwide are honoured? Mavica and kokopelli3 2 Quote

"Wishing a meaningful Memorial Day": five words. In my opinion adding two more words once a year is a small gesture to show respect. Quote

Members Thomas_88 Posted May 30 Members Posted May 30 If you don't want to type two extra words once a year, you can copy & paste this: "Wishing a meaningful Memorial Day" in your e-calendar (May 31st, 2027) & copy & paste every year. In a few years A.i. probably can take over so you don't have to copy anything. Patanawet 1 Quote

Bottom line is: YOU have your opinion, I have mine....All opinions should be respected (except those of Trump).. but they dont need to be embraced. WE are different people I post to be authentic, not to jump on some "popularity" train and vote with the masses like some Cult.... I didnt BASH your opinion, I just subscribe to a different one For me, this topic is now CLOSED, and ya'll can give it all the "down vote" emoji's you like. Seems to me its usually the SAME members here that always have anger and grievance ? Try to have some friggin Positivity for a change. You might be a happier person ? 😍 Patanawet 1 Quote

Sending people good wishes on special, commemorative days IS positive, you FOOL ! Even if the day being celebrated brings back some bad memories, hopefully people have healed, or sending good wishes can help them Heal.... Ugly, angry people just cant understand that. Now please go find something else to complain about here. You've beat this long dead horse enough, and honestly everyone but YOU and Thomas 88 are OVER it and have moved on. You just might be this sites "KAREN" ? Quote
