Immigration line at BKK airpot is …..

not as bad as i was prepared.  not at least last night on my arrival around 11:45 pm.  only 7-10 people on each line at the priority counters. and approximately 50-75 people at the regular counters.

I must have misunderstood; I thought the new entry on-line arrangements were there to expedite matters. My "special" queue has been longer since it was introduced than before. Three weeks ago, it was so busy that a kindly officer took some of us to an underused entry point for Thai citizens. To my left, the "ordinary" queues were stretching down the slope to the walkway. This was at 1600.

The amount of time  spent with the I.O. seem to me be the same as in the old days. I should add that exit arrangements do seem quicker. No passport departure stamps, I note.

The last few times I haven't had much problems maybe a 15 minute wait 

Longer wait was at the baggage claim 🛄 🛄

it all depends of luck, our jet may be first or last in line of 5 or 6 landing at the same time  one after another

Yes, when I came through in December there were only a few ahead of me at the regular counters, I felt like I had won a lottery.

When I arrived a few days ago mid-morning, it wasn’t super busy but there were also not that many counters open so it took probably around 30 minutes to get through and my suitcase was already taken off the belt by the time I got there. I was also asked for proof of my hotel booking (which I easily showed on my phone) as well as how many days I was staying. Dunno how often these questions are asked but helps to be prepared.

You are asking for common sense in a country that wants to take your fingerprints and picture every time you enter even though they have it dozens or more times on file from past visits. Don’t be so demanding!

Departure is now by machine, and very easy.

In Thailand some form filling can be maddening. I have lived at the same address in Bangkok for 26 years. Yet I have to complete a 90 day form with that address, when overseas give my address on the advance of arrival form, and then again on a ridiculous form I have to fill in within 36 hours of arrival. I sometimes wonder if I ever inserted the wrong apartment anyone in the Immigration Department would ever notice.
