Is about time the gay community to express solidarity towards Bruce Weber & Mario Testino, victims of a vicious campaign by the New York Times. Unlike Weinstein there was no rape involved, harassment is no reason to finish a true artist career. Where is Calvin, Tom Ford and all major designers? Modeling is not the pharmaceutical industry, a tough skin should come with the territory. Weber, Testino and others that spent their lives enhancing the male body, we are with you!

Joshua Wong, the 21-year old Hong Kong activist, has been jailed for three months for his part in leading protests in Hong Kong. "They can lock up our bodies, but they cannot lock up our minds," Wong said before he entered the jail. Wong has been active for several years in fighting encroaching Beijing efforts to assert more control over Hong Kong, which the British cowardly ceded to Beijing in 1997. The story of yesterday's court appearance and jailing: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/16/world/asia/hong-kong-umbrella-movement-joshua-wong.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=second-column-region&re…

The people of Puerto Rico have certainly suffered terribly from these two hurricanes. It will take many years to resume anything like normal life there. We will have to see how much America will contribute to that territory since they are not a state of the US. But, nothing has been said about this from our President or Senators.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) People huddled in their bathtubs. They ran into businesses or rushed into basements. They got into storm drains. For nearly 40 minutes on Saturday, Hawaii's 1.4 million residents thought they were under ballistic missile attack — and they did everything they could to try to get to safety. At 8:07 a.m., this alert went out to all Hawaii cell phones: "Missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter." It took city and military officials about 15 minutes to confirm the message was sent in error. And it wasn't until 8:43 a.m. that an all clear message was sent to Hawaii phones, 38 minutes after the first message sounde…

I went to check my balance of points yesterday, should have been a lot of points. But, could not log in. I tried a few times and called IHG. They asked some weird questions and then said my account had been hacked and that all my points were used in Tokyo for a Chinese family to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel during December but they were already checked out. I was shocked as I have never heard of anything like this. The hacker had apparently got into my account, changed my email to his, used the points for redemption and then book a stay for several rooms. I don't know how it was possible to change this information but it was done. IHG said they would in…

From NY Times For a fashion model, success is the ability to incite desire. The job requirements often include nudity and feigning seduction; provocation is a lever for sales. In the industry, boundaries between the acceptable and the unacceptable treatment of models have been etched in shades of gray. This has allowed prominent photographers to cross the line with impunity for decades, sexually exploiting models and assistants. The experience, once seen as the price models had to pay for their careers, is now being called something else: abuse of power and sexual harassment. Fifteen current and former male models who worked with Bruce Weber, whose racy …

From The Nation Irresponsible tourist-boat operators have been blamed for dumping their rubbish into the sea, resulting in a large amount of garbage being washed ashore onto one beach in particular in Pattaya and harming both tourism and the environment in Pattaya Bay more generally. A large volume of garbage has reportedly been washing up on Cozy Beach, with plastic waste – mainly empty bottles and discarded cutlery items – seen littering both the beach and the sea. Cozy Beach beach-bed hiring operator Uthai Pengphan yesterday said the garbage problem on his stretch of sand was not new, as rubbish washed up on the beach throughout the year. However, at th…

From Straits Times BANGKOK - Several areas of Bangkok were flooded on Wednesday (Jan 10) as torrential rain caused chaos on roads in the Thai capital, affecting hundreds of office workers during rush hour, the Bangkok Post reported. The pre-dawn thunderstorm slowed traffic to a crawl on Lat Phrao Road, a major road in the capital, with floodwaters surging to 20cm deep along a 400m stretch of the road. Pedestrians were also affected as footpaths near the road's Tawana Market area were also submerged in floodwaters, the paper reported on its website. Bangkok's Bang Kapi district was flooded, with the water reaching 30cm deep at a carpark located in the district,…

A former girlfriend took the opportunity of attempting to ruin the mood after James Franco won a Golden Globes Award for Best Actor. She asks Franco: "Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17? After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17 year old?'" Yet another actress claims that Franco did not pay her well enough for doing sex scenes in his movies. Well! If I were faced with James' erection all hot for my attention, I would have taken a different course than did the complainer. And you wouldn't have had to pay me at al…
