Almost every news source concerning Brazil discusses Brazil's high unemployment and economic crisis plus unhappiness of the current political party in office, including Brazil's president, Dilma Rousseff. Despite the above facts, the Brazilian real continues to increase in value against the dollar and other major currencies. Around the first of the year, the exchange rate was more than 410 to 1 U.S. dollar. Today, the exchange rate closed at 355 to 1 U.S. dollar. Each economist has a different opinion for why this strange contradiction is occurring with the Brazilian real. The increase of more than 13% in value of the Brazilian real since the first of this year is …

I just booked my flight to Rio for mid-March. My last trip to the marvelious city was back in June of 2013. Last night I found a great apartment on Airbnb but when I went back to book it tonite, I could not find it. So still working on where I will stay. Next up is to get a new Brazilian Visa since mine expired. So much to get done and only a couple of months to get it done. So excited to go back to Rio for both the boys and the baby chickens of Gallitos Grill

Hey Folks! Completely new to this forum. Very grateful for all the sage advice. I've certainly learned a lot. This is my first post. I'm going to Rio in a few weeks for primarily a "Rio Gay Sauna Tour". I understand that in the saunas, the cost to spend some "intimate time" is about 100 Reals. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I hope to meet a few men who are so amazing that I take down their number and either bring them home for an all-nighter or call them up later in the week and meet them in my apartment I rent. What is the going rate for an all-nighter? How much for about just 4-5 hours with some sexy time in bed and maybe dinner or accompanying me to a tourist att…

Thought this might be of interest.... I am trying to take a balanced approach to this looking at all points of view, but my experiences with uber have been fantastic and I am disappointed that rather than working on a comprehensive solution that would benefit everyone, the local governments just bent over and took it from the taxi folks. In cities as big as Sao Paulo and Rio I cant beleive that taxi's and uber each wouldnt find enough business. http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/brazil-taxi-drivers-protest-uber-33631386

Even though Brazil's economy is in the pits and its political system is in turmoil, the Brazilian real is gaining against the U.S. dollar (and many other currencies). Despite Brazil's high unemployment and increased crime, the local currency is increasing in value. Speaking of crime, for the first time in many trips to Brazil, last night I saw a gang of street hoodlums in the Pineiros area of Sao Paulo, not far from Lagoa sauna. They were walking up to people on the street aggressively pestering them for money. At the present time, there is a large presence of police in uniform in Sao Paulo doing street patrol. The police presence helps to control street crime. …

We read and hear so many different reasons why Brazil is suffering high unemployment and why Brazil's economy is in the pits, so to speak. We also read and hear stories about Brazil's president, Dilma Roosseff, in connection with calls for her being impeached or not being impeached. There have been demonstrations throughout Brazil relative to the above issues. Here is an article from the BBC (unquestionably, a highly regarded news source) relative to some of the issues surrounding President Rousseff. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-35728133 The article also furnishes some interesting history that contributed to the current problems. -

For those who have been to Rio or for those who have never been there, here is a Breitling Watch advertisement commercial that includes aerial shots over several parts of Rio and famous landmarks. The views are similar to what one might see from a helicopter. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/embed/LhR2WMGqjHU -

Hi Guys, Fortunately (for me at least), I have nothing to report on the for pay scene. Landed in Barranquilla a day before the carnival began. Within two days I got 100 messages in Grindr, only one of them mentioned money . However, I didn't even have to choose among them. As I have reported before, a month prior to my travel I registered my profile on MH (alternating weekly between Brnql, Medellin and Manizales),and had established contact with two guys. They were both good, but one of them was also a very nice person. I therefore invited him to join me on a week long drive to Mdlln and Mnzls. Consequently, I had no reason to sample the boys also in those cities. Of…

JW Marriott | Avenida Atlantica, 2600, | Copacabana · Rio de Janeiro | 55-21-2545-6500 | http://www.marriott....rio-de-janeiro/ The Marriott is located directly on Copacabana Beach. It is a 5 star hotel with full staff, a rooftop pool and full service spa. The hotel is kept up to JW standards with great rooms and restaurants inside the hotel. The rooms are a bit on the small side but they are very well decorated and clean. This hotel gets high marks for service and luxury. Also, be sure you are able to bring a guest up to your room. I was able to do this by booking a room for 2 and then just checking my guest in. However, some of the higher end hotels do not like gu…

Can any avid Brazilian travelers recommend some good bars/clubs with good looking go-go boys/strippers? Are they just eye candies or do they give lap dances/touch allowed? Thinking about relaxing there after Sauna closes. Thank you in advance for your kind advices.

This was my second time in Rio and honestly, every time I go it makes me want to move there. There is something about Rio that makes you feel more alive, and like anything can happen. I meet people everywhere there - the beach, the metro, the hostel. I am 29 and not to be conceited but I am very attractive (although there are plenty of guys in Rio way hotter than me). Guys are very open with sexuality which is so different from the US. In Rio, nobody cares about changing in front of you or if you see their dick. For example there was this gorgeous guy from Sao Paulo who was staying at my hostel. He started talking to me and giving me some advice about Rio. It was…

I will be spending a few days in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, arriving later this week. I hope to sample some hot Dominican guys while there and would welcome any advice. From what I've read, there's an active rentboy scene in certain areas of the Colonial Zone, on the Malecon and in a couple bars, but I have no experience hiring a guy from the street or from a club, especially in a city like Santo Domingo. Any advice?

I'm back from a 9-day trip in Havana. The weather was not good, raining most of the time, so I dedicated my energy to scooping and sampling cute and strong cuban boys. I had on average 2 to 3 boys a day, with some repetitions of course. I wrote a detailed report in Chinese and posted in a Chinese forum. Anyone interested can use Google Translate. It should give you an idea of the dating/cruising/pingueros situation over there. http://www.tt1069.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2636226&extra=page%3D1&page=1

The Brazilian States that observed day-light saving time are now back to standard time effective last Saturday night at midnight. There is now only a one-hour difference in time between the U.S. East Coast and Brazil. -

Things are moving along fairly quick normalizing commercial air flights between the U.S. and Cuba. A year or so ago, who would have thought this much progress would have been made at this time? It won't be long now before we will be able to purchase a non stop flight from major cities within the U.S. on legacy carriers directly to Cuba. It has been fifty years since that was possible. http://seekingalpha.com/news/3107006-u-s-cuba-sign-pact-restoring-scheduled-flights?dr=1#email_link -
