For quite some time (at least a couple of years), there were special prices on Monday nights to encourage clients to come to sauna Lagoa on Mondays, a relatively slow night. Mondays are usually (not always) dead nights at saunas in Brazil. The entrance fee during the price special at Lagoa on Monday was R$20 and the cabines were also R$20 (depending on what kind of cabine a client rented). These special prices were provided the client paid cash rather than used a credit card. Yesterday, Rodolfo (the owner of Lagoa) ended the Monday night specials. He now charges R$50 entrance plus R$50 for a cabine. For some reason, Roldolfo does not understand or doesn't care th…

After an 8 months absence I was back at 117 this past Tuesday night. I was very curious to find out if the economic crisis in Brazil had improved the quality of the boys. Too much responsibility to make a statement in such a macro-economic issue, since it might hightened the expectations of a lot of people and possibly cause some disappointment, but I´m inclined to confirm that yes the quality was noticeably better, although nothing spetacular, there were several aspects that should be taken into consideration: It was not that crowded, it was a cold night and the fact that there were a few guys that interested m ein such a smaller pool is significant, I´m the type that i…

Im just back from two weeks in Colombia, having visited Barranquilla, Cartagena, Cali, Bogota and Medellin. Its a wonderful country, full of beautiful and interesting people. But the scene is not nearly as well-organized or convenient as in Brazil. When I mention Brazil, I mean the sauna boy system wherein there are places to go to see a variety of men, choose whom you like, and strike a bargain right there. Nothing analogous exist in Colombia, sadly. Perhaps they await the right couple of entrepreneurs to set it up. There is very little English spoken among the sex worker class. Colombia seems to trend somewhat toward the youngish twink types, with visible indigenous anc…

Hello fellow members, I apologize for delayed report I was busy when I came back until I got lazy downloading some pics to post here. I cant show all but only their backs... I went there by myself since last year since none of my friends don't want to come with me anymore and that is how I came across with this site and it encourage to go by myself. I went there this April to celebrate my birthday there and find a hot garoto. I stayed there for 10 days, SP -> Port -> Rio. I booked the Travel Inn Lodge which is in Rua Borges Lagoa, 15 min walk to Thermas (for the past 3yrs) so I dont have to take the cab/uber and go through the traffic at 4-5pm. SP is my first pit s…

Information from CNN International and ESPN: WADA has decertified the Olympic drug-testing lab only 6 weeks before the start of the games. It was supposed to be working 24-7 testing blood and urine samples Much better is that I succeeded yesterday in getting tickets for the two men's basketball finals. Tickets for the final sold out in under a minute. I was in the process of filling in my credit card info and my purchase was cancelled. But I did get the two semis for half-price senior citizens resident's discounted price. The closing ceremonies still have tickets available for 4200 Reais/seat and then I would get a ticket for half-off. 2100Reais seems a…

I'm heading to Cali the first week of June and would appreciate any recommendations. My friend and I booked rooms in the Hostal Dona Sol, owned by an American, John, and I presume his Colombian partner. Looks like a beautiful home with four rooms for rent. There's one suite and then three double rooms with private bath. The doubles are $30 a night, $45 for a couple or if one has an overnight visitor. They offer airport pickup for $45 and as best I can tell they are located conveniently and can provide tourist and gay spots advice. Has anyone been to any of the saunas or clubs in Cali? I do find that many of the cutest guys on Chaturbate are from Cali. I know i…

One off-topic note: Having trouble posting using Android, in the present topic had to use a regular PC. Now going to the point: Rio´s most famous straight sauna Termas Centaurus has just closed it´s doors after more than 30 years in business. Located in fancy Ipanema neighbourhood catered to the moneyed elite plus occasional international visitors like European soccer players and the like. A few years ago made international headlines when Justin Bieber was photographed leaving the premises while still a minor. The business model is pretty similar to the gay saunas, the difference being the ladies wear clothes, not towels. The admission costs twice what the gays place…

Hey Folks, Going to PA for the first time this summer. Very excited. Primary goal is to check out the garatos in the sauna. Maybe I'll do some sight seeing, but that's really secondary. Question: housing. Airbnb is much cheaper than a hotel, but I do see benefits to the hotel. Should I rent an apartment near Mezzaninu (making getting there and back to where I sleep real easy) or would you have other suggestions? I will be there for only 4 nights Thurs-Sun. All suggestions (even if it's about just a good time in PA such as restaurants, cafes, cool gay non-sauna hang-outs etc) are welcome. And thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to these forums. I have be…

Some newbies that have never been to Brazil during weeks and months gather information from previous post on this forum and ask questions to its members to such detail that reaches the point of almost making the trip redundant. They finally feel secure to take the plunge, spend time there, have a blast, get back home and not a single line about their experience. When we gonna learn?

A bit slanted, but fair enough. The author neglects to mention that most of the forced expulsions were from favelas, whose residents are being provided with some form of substitute housing. I found interesting, although not surprising, that Mayor Dudu Paes has fed so many of the concrete contracts to the family of the tourism secretary. Not nearly enough was written on certain issues like the Metro Line 4 and Guanabara Bay cleanup. Nor the coup against Dilma Rousseff. http://www.playthegame.org/news/news-articles/2016/0179_rio-de-janeiros-olympic-gamble/

Sometimes you just can't make this stuff up. Anti-Coruption minister resigns over leaked recordings. Cunha, Temer et.al. voted out Dilma and put in their own cabinet, all white and all male. Already three are gone for being caught on tape trying to end the Lava Jato investigations. http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-brazil-corruption-idUKKCN0YL14V And little Michel Temer is the owner of investment property. Quite the entrepeneur http://plus55.com/politics/2016/05/michel-temer-corruption-son-owns-millionaire-estate

Im curious about the opinions of those of you who live there. Brazilian democracy is only 30 years old. Are the institutions strong enough to depose a president without blood in the streets? What happens when the parties that united to impeach Rouseff turn on each other? Will the impeachments stop with her or her party?

A few months ago, a couple of forum posters commented about their anticipated flights to Brazil via Boeing's so-called "dreamliner" aircraft - the Boeing 787. Several airlines use the dreamliner for flights to Brazil. When the dreamliner first became used in commercial aircraft, many of us remember how often the dreamliner was grounded and removed from service for months at a time. The groundings were later determined to be due to onboard fires that were related to lithium batteries used during operation of the aircraft. Now, something new is amiss with the dreamliner. According to the Seattle Times (a news reporting source located where Boeing is based), the dreamli…

- For those new to Brazil, check out the link below, then go to this garoto's video - He is already a hit at Lagoa - He gives many of the other garotos a lot of competition for clients. I think the answer and reason for his high demand in the saunas is disclosed in his video - here: http://malicia.com.br/Anuncio/AnuncioDetalhe?idAnunciante=5110 By the way, there is an error in his ad. His ad says "idiom" (languages) - espanhol - He is from Northern Brazil and speaks Portuguese. -

- Yesterday, the Brazilian real closed around 350 to 1 USD. The significance of the above statement is shown by saying it another way. Such as, earlier this year if we exchanged U.S. $1,000.00, we received R$4,100.00 reais. Today, if we exchange U.S. $1,000.00 we would receive R$3,500.00 reais. That is R$600.00 fewer reais than we received in January of this year. R$600.00 can buy a lot of entertainment in Brazil. Depending on who offers an answer or reason or opinion for the marked change in value of the real, no one is in agreement. This is because no one knows. The answers are mostly guesses. Check out this link concerning yesterday's increase in value of…

I am interested in starting a thread to help with translation for some sexual terms. This will help me on my upcoming trip, and it should also be helpful for anybody who might be interested in the future. I know some people may disagree with some of the things I put on here, but know that some of these things I am adding for completeness, and not just because they are my own sexual preferences (although mine are definitely included!). I would love any help translating these, because apps often translate using scientific words (esperma vs. porra/sperm vs. cum). Thanks in advance to anybody who chimes in. Feel free to add any phrases I have missed that you would find helpfu…

I'll be arriving in Brazil in exactly two weeks, and my question is two parts: What is the best way/place to get reais? In Mexico, I have always found the cheapest is to simply withdraw from an ATM. You have to pay a fee no matter how you do it, but the fees for ATM withdrawal for pesos are about half what they would be at a Cambio/currency exchange. Another benefit is not having to bring a bunch of cash. One caveat is that the ATM at the airport is WAY more expensive than the one in town, so I always pay for the taxi with a credit card, since I don't always have pesos on hand. Is getting money from an ATM the best way to get reais? (And I guess a side question is: do t…

Have gained so much knowledge from members of this forum, so I'd like to share my experience in Brazil from a first timer's perspective, hoping my experience will provide a bit insight for other novice travelers. (Disclaimer: my experience is limited and i don't speak Portuguese, so take it with a grain of salt - ) Currency exchange - ATM fees are high and withdraw limit is low. At some places I felt comfortable using credit cards, and carried cash, both methods got me the best exchange rate, at least 8% more than any ATMs. Power outlet - US plug won't work 99% of the places and I had to buy a power outlet converter. Language barrier - for sure having knowledge of P…

One of the guys I have known in Brazil for a long time asked me to be the Padrinho (Godfather) for his new born child. For a number of reasons, I plan on declining. I have been told that the obligations of a godparent are different in the Brazilian culture but I do not know what the differences are. Anyone know what the expected obligations of a godparent are in Brazil?
