From The Thaiger A team of Thai researchers found in a study that without face masks, there was a 10% risk of being infected with Covid-19 in public toilets. Random? The team, lead by a researcher from Chulabhorn Research Institute in Bangkok, found that the risk climbed to almost 100% if the Covid-19 infected person actually coughed or sneezed in the toilet. The study claimed, however, that if both wore N95 or surgical face masks, the risk was just 0.01%. Now, the researchers are warning the public not to take off face masks while in public toilets. Thammanitchpol Denpetkul, a lecturer at the faculty of tropical medicine at Mahidol University, told the Ban…

I had posted this in the Beer Bar but I believe it's a better fit here because of its importance to gay sexual health. From AFP US authorizes first condom for use in anal sex The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday authorized the first condom for use during anal intercourse, in what was hailed as a victory for sexual health by experts. Although people already use condoms for anal sex -- as is recommended by health agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) -- regulators across the world had only previously allowed companies to officially market their products as "safe and effective" for vagi…

From Channel News Asia KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is aspiring to become the hepatitis C treatment hub for Asia, with promises of treatment at a fraction of current costs. Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that Malaysia is poised to offer affordable and efficacious treatments for those infected with the virus. This is made possible as Malaysia is the first country in the world to be given conditional approval for the use of Ravidasvir in combination with Sofosbuvir to treat hepatitis C. “I hope Malaysia, launched today as a destination for Hep C treatment will offer those suffering from this disease access to more effective, accessible, and crucially …

Hi All! Any fellow brothers here ride Peloton? My husband and I bought ourselves one for Chanukah this year and have been enjoying the ride so far (yeah... it's kind of like a cult, but I'm hooked!) My goals for 2021 have a lot to do with Fitness and the bike and trainers are helping me stay motivated! Fellow riders, favorite rides? Favorite coaches? So far I am a fan of Ben Alldis, Alex Toussaint, and Robin Arzón! Particularly now that the studio is empty (because of COVID) I enjoy seeing Ben and Alex's ass in the mirror behind them while they're coaching! haha

I do! I haven't had any in several years. Today - 15 August - is the anniversary of India's independence in 1947. So several weeks ago I suggested here at the nursing home that we have Indian food today. Didn't happen. So I cancelled my dinner here and ordered Indian food from a local Indian restaurant and had it delivered. There are a number of Indian staff here.

Chicken Basil, or Gai Pad Gapow, is one of the classics of Thai food and is surprisingly easy to make. It is popular among the Thais and known as a no-brainer dish. In Thailand, when you are in a strange town and a strange restaurant, you know that you can always order Gai Pad Gapow and it will probably be decent. It's a simple dish that any restaurants know how to make it right. You know you've made Chicken Basil right when the heat from the chili peppers plays just under the flavor of the gapow and the fish sauce. Don't be afraid to use what seems like an excessive amount of gapow leaves - they make the dish. 2 Servings, Prep Time: 20 minutes, Total Time:20 minutes …

I need to train for a marathon in November and I need to loose at least 70 pounds. Notice I said at least! But, I know my body well and know that I need a varied activites to keep going. So last week, I hired a Muay Thai boxer (cute as well but aren't they all?). He is only working me out for an hour a day but holy shit! he is killing me. Knees hurt. Arms are sore. Legs ache. Shoulders hurt. And, the BF wanted to have sex tonight and I said, "sorry hear, I am tired." He looked at me and said, "You want to go to hospital?" haha But, I have lost 7 pounds total for the last 2 weeks. I am working out with the trainer and then doing another 1 or 2 hours per d…

I was on the street here in Rio and a vendor was selling fruits and veggies. I bought 2 trays of beautiful strawberries and next to them were fresh lychees. I've eaten the canned ones, but never out of the peel. Had no clue how to do it. Simple and really good. And I had no clue how large the stone in the center was. When you get them for dessert in the Chinese restaurants they have already been removed. Who knew?

Dining in the sky: does fear make food taste better? By Harry Wallop, video by Julian Simmonds 4:01PM BST 11 Sep 2014 telegraph.co.uk A hovering restaurant, winched 100ft above London's Canary Wharf, opens this week. Our intrepid writer - who suffers from vertigo - braved the first flight of the day London boasts some of the finest restaurants in the world, many of them with spectacular views over the capital. So, it is baffling why anyone would actively chose to spend £50 on breakfast at the most recent venue to open: London In the Sky. Unless you were a pepper pot short of the full cruet set. But I am surrounded by 20 fellow customers, most of whom seem to be look…

So says the food columnist for the Washington Post. I liked her article because I drink a lot of Coke Zero. But, I concede that water is best. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/the-case-for-diet-soda-it-gets-a-bad-rap-but-the-research-tells-a-different-story/2019/06/21/70ad3f54-92da-11e9-b570-6416efdc0803_story.html?utm_term=.bfb7281d1ae0

I attended a small business lunch yesterday, and the host served the most amazing potato chips with her sandwiches. I don't normally indulge in junk food, but I always appreciate a good potato product. When I asked her about her potato chips, I was SHOCKED to learn they were a product of Trader Joe's. Not only were the chips not over-salted, like most are, these were the crunchiest chips I may have ever encountered. There is definitely some magic formula going on here. The flavor of the chip isn't bad as well, considering they're lower in fat and salt. I post the photo here, and the bag is indeed naked. I hope this doesn't cause a problem with DMCA.

Flush the toilet, would you? Virus particles from poop fly into the air when flushed. Particles can reach heights of more than three feet and float in the air for more than a minute. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/06/16/coronavirus-toilet-flushing/ Then again, if it is your poop, then don't you already have the virus? So protect those who poop with you!

I just got my first prescription of four bottles of PrPE in France, and here are some interesting or even shocking facts (at least shocking to me): 1. It’s completely free, both for those who have French social security and those who are residing illegally in France. Actually France was the first country in the world which offered free access to PrPE in Jan. 2016. 2. PrPE in France is expensive, but nowhere as expensive as in the US. My four bottle of Truvada cost 1371.47 euros, which is, as I was told, less than one bottle of 30 pills in the US after the price increase. The generic version costs about 160 euros for 30 pills. 3. Both Truvada…
