  1. I did not want to derail anonone's thread but this is quotation from his recent post:

" I think I prefer low season overall. A much more relaxed pace suits me better"

I wonder if others present in Thailand right now share the same opinion.

What is your take about bars , massages, boys , transport,  shopping, restaurants and hotels at this time of year?

How you compare it to quieter months ?

Started thinking about vacation  plans for next year / where I'm now is still broad day  on Dec 31 st  2013/ and wonder if trip at this time  is worth the trouble and expense. Or may be there's no trouble.

Last time   I spent Christmas  in BKK  was 2002 and recall unsane  crowds on both Silom an Sukhumvit night markets and trouble with hotel reservation but this was long ago.

    Any thoughts?

Happy New 2014 Year for everybody !!!

  2. One can always do what my neighbor did another day. Sidewalks are very icy, she went shopping to the plaza across the street and being about 80 was scared to return on foot so grabbed taxi to bring her home  about 300 meters   away.

    I'm not  making it up.

  3. Thank you for another batch of eye candy, one of reasons I never feel bored in Bangkok.

I must be old fashioned relic but to put it mildly I think  you guys treated Mr  D from Tawan in ungentlemanly manner.

With those biceps he would be likely able to handle all of you but remember Thai culture in non-confrontational and he reasonably could expect that you are cooking something nasty with this congregation of unannounced friends in your room.

Possibly he was not terrified of you guys but of situation he found himself in and not knowing how to handle it at the moment.

And you still blamed him for whole tribulation?

What I noticed recently there is consistent stream of raving reviews of Tawan boys which is great news as it was time when opinion was they are demanding and useless in bed.

I only hope the same will happen to  fame of Jupiter boys.

Not a bad idea to observe goings at massage parlor ,the same goes with bars. Worth admission ticket of drink.

I agree with your assessment of some clients but remember that boys are looking at them from wallet side rather looks.

Only complains I ever heard from them about clients were about foul  smell but this is not unique to clients as today's review of boy in GayRomeo section attests.

As you mention butch acting girly boy at Fan Club it reminded me my own affair with one of boys from Dreamboy, acting manly when in bar in speedos and completely changed personality and  speak  manner as soon as changed  for  street,  kind of feminine, clothes.

Enjoy tonight's festivities and avoid practical jokes in the New Year 2014.

Tell your friends to avoid street food till Sunday as higher powers in heaven  may took a gastro revenge for what you put Mr. D through.

  4.

Anyway I do remember an occasion when I had to dash from Boat Bakery to Boys Town...that was frightening...

But you were rewarded with good food they have there.

/ for newbies on the board, Boat Bakery is right across the street from Boyztown and is nice alternative to their  more pricey food options , this hair raising dash may save you 70 baht on breakfast compare to , say Cafe Royale /

  5. Most Asian countries except Japan, China and Taiwan et al, follows the British way of driving.

So instead of asking them to switch (as seen in post #11), why dont we accept it?

Anyway, how often did TS cross the road/streets in Pattaya?

Isnt most roads around the touristy area one way?

..Practice makes perfect... there are (still) some zebra crossings and traffic lights/junctions there..

I thought Japan drives on the left, not sure though.

No problem accepting British way of driving but I thought it would be enormous fun to observe  gradual  switch to right-side driving in Bangkok

  6. I haven't been to Cupidol for a while, but from walking past regularly I can confirm that it is high on my list of bars with the best underwear.

(Sidenote: Funny Boys now allow their boys to wear underwear they want every night, before there was just Sunday night underwear fashion show.)

Now firecat can distribute best Underwear award to Cupidol without hesitation

  7.

When I first came to Thailand, crossing the street in Bangkok was rather terrifying to me.  It got to the point where I would wait until a couple of Thais were going to cross and then I would go stand on their left side (thinking I'd have time to jump somewhere when I heard a car thump the first one!) and just step out when they stepped out.  The tricky part was the "shuffle" I'd do once we got to the center of the road - the shuffle being that I would quickly jump over to the right side of the group crossing the road  so I wouldn't be the first person whacked by the cars.

My only problem with traffic in Thailand is that everybody is driving on wrong side of street so I turn my head wrong way.

I think they should gradually switch to driving on right and switch should start with taxis first  just to see how it works

  8. Friends, if you ever come to Franconian Region of Germany be sure to visit my old pub brewery in the small village of Speilbach and I will give you one of my beers.  It will make you more brave to cross the roads in Thailand and Vietnam.  My Christmas ale is one of the best in the world.

Not a bad idea, thank you

  9.

In Hanoi, one has to have balls the size of water buffalo to take that first attempt to cross a street.  But, once you learn how to do it (you just walk at a steady pace and the drivers miraculously won't hit you), it'll make you think crossing a road in a Thai city is a walk in the park.

Thank you for bringing up fine memories, actually after few succesful attempts I started having a fun and was crossing streets there just for sake of it, like taking  free horizontal roller-coaster. I also recommend Saigon and Cairo , Egypt / may be not now / for the same kind of fun.

Hope our posts encouraged beermaker to re-visit Pattaya ASAP, no need to go to the moon as there are no boys there, and it's cold place apparently

  10. beermaker , today's newbie was complaining about  crossing Pattaya streets , now your first line above confirms it.

It was easy to outstay your competitor for Dik, the Vassa boy, congratulations and hope it will work as you dream.

Before award for best underwear will be distributed it wold be good to consult ChristianPFC on the subject to get his stamp of approval

Enjoy tonight's celebrations  and happy postings in the New 2014 Year !

Congratulations on your 1000 posts  firecat !

  11. Happy New Year to you!!

    Thank you,

you weren't ripped off by tuk tuk driver, he just gave you short lecture as to how free market works.

Reminds me my way to airport in May during  deluge at death of night, driver wanted almost twice of meter rate which I agreed to instead of being soaked completely.

Nice to know that prices in CM are so user friendly.

Watch your alcohol intake during tonight's celebrations

  12. You are happy to pay over 4000 baht a night for a hotel, when a perfectly good room could be had for below 2000.

A cheaper room frees up over 2000 to pay for sex with the cute boy of your choice, at the time of your choice.

    When in Rome....

Tarntawan would be good option, gay friendly with breakfast for boy  of the night  provided, no pool though.

Om Yim at 1100 will free another 1000 to cover drink and off fee at Dreamboys.

But I guess we all like to splurge on different things, may be to maintain our lifestyles or to feel pampered on vacations.

  13. I am terrified and leaving Pattaya today. Where oh where can I run to? Oh my, just lost my lunch.

One would almost think there was a troll hiding in plain sight. I think I will stay in paradise after all .

you can always run to BKK and try to cross Sathorn in rush hour , than return to Pattaya and enjoy empty streets there

  14. thank you for report, not boring at all. I never visited  Chiang Mai  so reading your updates with great interest with view of future visit there hopefully.

Funny thing , 50 minutes flight and the same wait for taxi but this may happen everywhere.

House must be old as 78 kg is not weight piece of wood should broke under, manager was right and both faces saved. No need for dieting as I'm under impression  from carefully reading posts your  weight  puts you in skinner half of readership of this forum right there with this youngster ChristianPFC.

Some people mentioned is unusually cold in Chiang now but you did not mention anything so I guess is not that bad.

How are massage prices and tips there in comparison to BKK , any difference ?

And no harm done in immersing yourself in Thai culture there , use this opportunity as your next step is Pattaya if I recall correctly, very cosmopolitan place in terms of access to local culture to put it politely.

Since you are already on New Year's Eve day enjoy festivities and happy New Year 2014 with 4 hand massage daily !

  15. Yes, the Thais are racist.

    http://50shadygays.wordpress.com/tag/gay-travel-in-thailand/

They also basically look down on anyone with darker skin.

No , only boy described in the story  was racist. No need for sweeping generalizations, specially  about looking down on anyone with different skin color. Every society has plenty of those unfortunately.

Xiluzer mentioned  clearly that Bombay  guy's attitude was not good. So may be this was reason for treatment he received. It would be nice to get insight of certain nation's tipping patterns before we start  formulating theory  based on moneyboy opinion.

Certain nations, rightly or wrongly  are more than others known for skipping tipping obligation and this may be reason why they are not treated as they wish and some places are securing girl and boy tips before actual off or massage takes place.

Happened to me at Scandic  & Copa for massages and Adonis for long time off.  no, I'm not man of color but could be taken for national of another place with mixed reputation in Pattaya.

    Just my 5 cents

  16. ... so I asked Jon to choose a muscle guy he likes..and he chose an older muscular guy named Win (formerly a farmer from Isaan).

We then showered and dressed.  Both wanted me to off them and  they wanted to come to my hotel.  I had to pass having an early morning flight back to the US.

PS Before coming to Hero I did stop by Banana Club..but it was really dead so I left

Great report and great read  from Hero , rickinoc, welcome to the board and hope you'll write more about your LOS exploits when you return home.

You did best thing for 4 hands massage -  pick up one boy and let him to pick up  his companion to ensure boys will work together well.

  17. Just goes to prove my theory again. Heinz 57 Varieties of Soup.

I hate Jupiter. Filled with a bunch of stuck up boys who expect you to do all the work and them do nothing.  I tried 5 times there and 5 losers. That was enough I will never return.  I have not had that experience in any other Bar and I am not alone.

Besides that the seating is a joke with 1/2 the seats blocked in some way.  HeHE just my balance to

bkkmfj2648  who I think is much easier to please then me.

I get it some people love it but I can find just as many who hate it but I will agree they are all farangs.

I think show and eye candy is great so best way is to go there with own boy, enjoy the show and do not worry about duds - what I did in November.
