I'm glad you had good day at Arena, I agree other places may have better ambiance and better looking boys but I have soft spot for that place.
When you mention boy there was raising his hand to bring your attention it kind warmed my heart as this is how I landed in arms of my consolator from there -Dit.
Your assessment of X-Boys is matching mine but I'm surprised with goings at Jupiter with boys in street clothes, may be just too cold inside?

Thanks for the trip report, I missed out on Hero last trip but have put it at the top of my agenda for the next trip, I too am one of those that a bit uncomfortable with having to pick from the line ups but understand it may be the best way to get the guy you desire.
At Hero is actually not as intimidating because this glass wall and no pressure atmosphere. If you shy you may have a drink or meal in their restaurant which has also view of glass enclosure. Senso is place where you are really close to the boys so you my wish to go there after you visited few other places to get more confidence. In Banana you are pretty far from their faces.
Best place to ogle available boys is Bangkok Massage in soi Twilight , you can have your drink or meal at Maxi's across the soi with direct view of boys in front of you. And you will not be intimidated because they are usually glued to their smartphones.

few years ago Man was working as A at Senso, his picture is still on their website. He earned raving reviews on boards when working there. When he changed venue he also changed name. He may be slightly over 30 , certainly not 50 !

While love from the first sight happens in real life it never happened to me in Thailand, possibly because I was never there long enough.
I don't like to waste time on vacations, saunas, discos and bars are not my scene so resorted to paid company. Since variety is spice of life I usually butteflied / i.e. each time picked up different boy from different place /. Recently got more sentimental and started to meet the same boys more than once as no butterfly reinforcement pill is available locally.
Chase may be quite pleasant but also time consuming and costly with all those diners , shows, shopping trips etc, but not trying to discourage you at all- some had better luck.
Don't plan too much , just show up here , have your eyes open and see what happens . And bring money either for off fees or those trinkets you may wish to treat you newly found love with.
And do not be discouraged by some stories about greedy boys, my experience is most of them are happy with what we have for them and at least me personally very rarely I met boys with list of demands.
Whatever way you will choose remember they are real people with real feelings, hopefully you will find somebody with those for you. Just try to have fun and make sure your boys have fun with you too.
I have my doubts about quality of real feelings from GayRomeo boys , even those who are there for fun , not money but firecat69 from this forum is expert on the subject so wait for his input.

Mine was HIS, in the same building where Arena is now. Closed few years ago
As tribute to this day I usually start my BKK explorations from visit to Arena
Aqua certainly had it's glory days with restaurant open and two mamasans handling weekend traffic.
They were on death bed for a while as their website was not not updated for years, gym and sauna closed few years ago too.
In November they had only 6 boys available on Saturday night and it was this feeling of faded glory as I mentioned in my report.
Sad day for me too as my first multiple off Pom was from there.

According to the post in CFS forum today Dec 28-2013 , Aqua Spa is closed forever. May be somebody in BKK now can confirm ?
I'm not that surprised as it was pretty deserted when visited them in November but I have lots of good memories from earlier years.

You treated yourself to a great day at both Guy Spa and Dreamboys / actually scene downstairs is called BoysBangkok, used to be separate bar years ago /.
It looks we both are great advocates of Guy Spa on this board but it was you who enticed me to go there.
Dreamboys off fee is 650 and drinks are 380 upstairs and 360 downstaris if I recall correctly.
Great Christmas we have on this forum with all those fabulous reports you guys are spoiling us with.
Only thing I don't get is how come somebody is on vacations in LOS and is waking up at 1 p.m. , don't you think you spend too much of vacation time sleeping?
I credit all those massages I was taking for my body's great tolerance for sleep deprivation when there, only once was in bed till noon but this was only because boy volunteered to stay that long so couldn't waste opportunity.
But I guess we all are different when comes to sleep pattern

I decided to pick Uniman because of vinapu’s glowing review!!
I am not sure cute guys can do that (based from my exprience). The hairy guy has strong veiny arms, that’s an indication that he is strong, and hopefully can deliver a strong massage.
I was shocked when I got in.. a bit run down… I turned my head a saw the bathroom… OH MY GOD!!! It was really really old, looked like an abandoned public toilet!!! I even felt scared going in, what if there are roaches there!!!
I have exactly the same feeling like you about going to saunas and I wonder if we are wrong as one never knows for sure until visits a place
Thank God you are happy with following my recommendation for Uniman, as for cleanliness either I had good luck or you had bad one as I do not recall any substandard shower in room I was assigned to.
Cute guys can sometimes deliver surprisingly strong massage, I think proper training is to be credited for that.

Maybe the punters in BKK are more generous but who knows............
May be PTY punters are more inclined toward rather twinky and youngish crowd so is harder for massage boys to get a clients.
Pattaya has true gem -Magnolia.
I had 4 massages in 2 days when in PTY in Nov and can't complain about neither massage nor boys quality at the massage places.
Performance at the hotel by the offed massage boys in another story but definitely I would not dismiss Pattaya as massage wasteland.

I wouldn't say strange , rather non-standard way of spending Christmas, probably more pleasurable than sitting around the table overfed , with bags of gifts one does not need and forced to listen to the same jokes , complains about prices and weather like last Christmas and with the view of repeating the same next day.
As for taxi drivers likely they saw and heard it all and even more so I wouldn't worry about them witnessing dealmaking but it would be interesting to see taxi vs. car count

Next stop was Boyz, Boyz,Boyz. Lots of Gogo boys, most on the older, more manly side with some very hot.
When I was there I noticed that those older boys are more popular than youngish ones, during show all of them including one pretty chubby and not much in shape, were sitting with some admirers.
Hope after you conclude your Christmas reports we will be getting some after-Christmas ones

Bars with older boys like Tawan, Jupiter, BoyzBoyzBoyz seem to be busy and are doing well so certainly there is following for their offer.
My personal experience is that younger guys tend to be more affectionate but older ones are trying harder to find out what pleases their clinet and usually are better built is one is looking for meat on the bones like me.
At Derby in Jomtien there's masseur Wat, aged 39 with body of 25 y.o. Greek god. Highly recommended

Friend of mine landed in BKK at midnight on Christmas Day/ I don't say today as in BKK is already 26th when i'm typing those words/ and e-mailed me that in his 13 trips he never experienced such a cold air there. So I gather days are pleasant but nights may be chilly . I feel sorry for all those massage boys in shorts in front of their shops.
Now I know what I missed at Tawan, I was there with boy from Dreamboys who was falling asleep and at one point I took pity on him and went to hotel missing fuck and J/O show you described - one more reason to re-visit bar on next trip.
Tawan must be only bar with J/O show as I did not see it in any of soi Twilight bars.
Recently there was quite a few very favorable reflections about meeting with Tawan boys on various boards as legend had it they are not that productive - looks it's not truth.
2000 for Silom was short or long term rate ? / I think you mean short term /. If you were happy with man I don' think you overpaid, Is this what he suggested or you felt this is what you should pay?
As for Dreamboys boys I'm curious as what you will discover in terms of tip. When I had misfortune with one of their boy mamasan I spoke to suggested short time rate 1500 / I paid 1000 which was 990 to much anyways in said case/.
Another long time got 2500 and did not complain , shouldn't as was not that great.
Third boy from them asked 3000 and got it fully deserved and would pay this to him even if asked 2000.

free hookups are definitely possible like explained in excellent firecat's post but if your time there is short you are taking chances that hunt may take too much of your vacation time. You may enjoy it anyways , it depends on personality but you don't want to frustrate yourself completely if not successful so keep moneyboy option open.
If you love massages than you are heading to paradise IMHO, options in Bangkok are better and much more numerous but if you in Pattaya few days there's quite a few places you may enjoy as well, forget about culture in Pattaya not just because of sleaze and sex but it's like beach resort everywhere. Treat yourself as prices in Thailand are much more friendly than your domestic ones. And you have option of extras
You are not tasting Argentinian culture in Mar del Plata but you go to Buenos aires, if American culture is what you are looking for, New York is your place , not Atlanic City, you know what I mean. For culture stay in Bangkok .
River taxi to the Grand Palace is a must, go there early as place is extremely crowded.
Visit snake farm - is right across the street from soi Twilight, itself place of lots of friendly snakes in boys undies but this is separate subject.
Staying in Silom option is well chosen as you are close to gay action and almost all of that is walk distance.
No shortage of decent hotels there.
BTS and MRT actually intersect at Silom across from Lumpini Park. Shopping is better in Sukhumvit area but you are not on this forum because of shopping, right
