  1. I've noticed sometimes the guys at Prince Spa come up short on time for a 90 minute massage, but usually get the timing right or know how to stretch things out for 60 minute massage. Usually at the 30 minute mark they are finishing up legs... I 100% agree complaining to the manager after leaving that one is unhappy the massage was short is not a real solution. Communication with the masseur is better. As Vinapu has said before, if one cares it's pretty easy to say "let's go slow" or "one hour - still have time" or such and the guys will happily fill out the time. I've had a couple of guys there who are big cuddlers after the act. Some people love love love that. For me it's ok for a few minutes after-glow but then usually I end up being the one saying "ok, let's get up - time to shower." Just goes to show people are different, and it is an very intimate personal business indeed. It can be a bit hard for the guys to time things perfectly, because they have to give a massage and leave enough time for special services, but they never really know how long the special services will take. Depends so much on the customer, and in my case time can change quite a bit from one visit to the next. But it is their job to get it right. Some of the more seasoned masseurs there (and elsewhere) do something that I really like, which is while they are still working on legs reach up and under and use that as an opportunity to massage my junk for a bit, then move back to legs, back etc. It's not meant to be an invitation to roll over - unless that's what you want. But fortunately I wasn't there so don't know what was going on. Also baffled by the comment about the masseur being hard. He'd be more likely to get negative comments from customers if he didn't get hard.
  2. Pricey, but consistently the best massages I've had in Bangkok. https://spabangkok.net Spa Bangkok - Silom Branch is a high-end spa and massage shop in Silom Plaza. It's on the 1st floor, in the back on the right. Arena is in the same building, on the 3rd floor. Last year I got the crazy expensive tourist package of body scrub + special tantric massage + aroma massage (2,400 plus tip). It was 2.5 hours of bliss (or however long it took). That package is still available. Highly recommended. This year I decided to pay the up front 4,900 for a "membership" which gets 4 "free" 90 minute aroma massages and then a discounted rate after that. The 90 minute aroma non-member price is 1,500. No stated minimum tip. (I essentially tip the same here as Prince. Prince get full naked sex, but here get professional massage, and I value both equally when done well. Maybe this means I may be overtipping here, I don't know or care that much as long as I stay under budget.) The Silom branch is the biggest of the spa's three branches. Most days they seem to have about 8-10 guys scheduled. You can select from a tablet or let the manager pick. It does a good business. They usually seem to be able to accommodate walk-ins, but advance booking is recommended. Because it's really more of a legit shop than, say, Arena, Prince or VCK, you should be going for the massage first and foremost, so I wouldn't get hung up on selection. They share the monthly schedule and also send out a daily update on who is working on Line, so if you do find a masseur who works the magic for you, you can easily schedule that way. That is what I do. When I first went back this year I didn't specify a masseur and ended up coincidentally getting the same masseur as last year. I thought he was fantastic and actually has a look I find very attractive, so good karma played out, I guess. Now I just book him. The facilities are very very nice - spa-like. Shower is in the hall, but you never see another customer on your way to or from the showers. Downstairs room has shower en suite. There are stairs. Masseur is fully clothed throughout, although I believe that if you book the "body-to-body" version of the "sensual massage" the masseur obviously drops the clothes. They told me the sensual massage is the same as the aroma massage. The massage is on a table. The tables are not particularly large, I noticed that there is a cut out for your face but I've never used it and at over 6'2" I don't think I would without my feet hanging out over the end of the table. But in any event I prefer a pillow. The massages here are not for amateurs. Unlike most of the massages at the more sex-oriented shops, which end up being more like oily caressing (not that there's anything wrong with that), Spa Bangkok massages are directly influenced by/of a piece with Thai massages. There's a lot of stretching and, in my case, a lot of hard work by the masseur in breaking up those knots in the back and shoulders. Truly no pain/no gain but they are well trained enough that they know how to support joints etc when stretching. I repeat - if you can't handle the good pain of therapeutic massage, this is not the place for you. One thing I noticed during the most recent massage was that the masseur did a really good job with integrating glute (butt) massage throughout. My masseur has a great friendly attitude, despite the inevitable nightmares he must have after giving me a massage ("Help! My hands are being sucked into a vat of jello!") My masseur has always left me very happy after the roller coaster of pleasure - good pain, so I assume a happy ending is normal fare here. So why is this better than Prime? I think Prime is the go-to spot for Thai massages (no expectation of happy ending). I like that the aroma massage here better because of the expanded repertoire - elements of Thai massage and Swedish. And I think the staff here are a bit friendlier and the facilities quite a bit nicer. For me worth the 3x expensive. But I don't go here all the time. Honorable Mention: "The Best Massage" in Silom Plaza. Also on the 1st floor this place is M4M, not at all expensive. 600 baht 1 hr foot + 1 hour oil or thai. Facilities nicer side of basic. Room with shower. Very large table. Can select from photo book or guys loitering or take next in line. Guys have that "just down from up country" look - quite dark skin, smaller-framed, wiry. I had one great massage and then one good massage but could have been better, but I think that guy was just too young and inexperienced. Happy ending. Very nice manager (woman). With Arena, Spa Bangkok and The Best you can pretty much experience the whole spectrum of M4M massage without leaving Silom Plaza. All three recommended for their particular market niche.
  3. I think you will find absolutely no discrimination in the massage shops whatsoever. I have often noticed that most of the other customers are Asian/SE Asian and younger - so actually you will be more in line with the typical customer. (Possible exceptions - the Soi Twilight shops, which seem to get heavy farang foot traffic.)
  4. From what I can see, it seems that few of the M4M shops that have tables have the ones with the face cutout. So as far neck position for long massages the regular tables and mats on the floor end up being pretty much the same for me. I've gotten to the point now that I don't even like the cut-out tables any more. I just put the pillow under my upper chest/neck/chin and for me that's comfortable for lengthy massages, my neck isn't wrenched one way or another, and I can breathe easily.
  5. Most places offer cream as alternative to oil, if that makes a difference to your skin? Plus as long as you know the masseur is actually well-trained, a thai massage can be as erotic as any -- if you find being twisted into a pretzel erotic, as I occasionally do. I agree tables are not great, and when it comes to romping around really only good for a couple of positions, otherwise I spend too much time worrying about one of us falling off. A couple of the full service mat/mattress on floor spots (in alphabetical order): Bangkok, Body Club, Bonny, DM Spa, Hi Club, Men 101, My Hero , Prince, Seed Club, VCK. At Prince (and My Hero) the mattresses are against the wall, so you and the masseur have some restrictions there, but it all seems to work out. Those shops also have luxe VIP rooms for a price. There's also the will-he-or-won't-he thai massage spots all over the place for mats, but not necessarily full service.
  6. Soi 4 and Soi Twilight were pretty festive new years eve, so personally I'm expecting roughly the same for chinese new years, plus I bet there will still be some fireworks, esp. on Soi Thaniya. Don't know what the plan is for chinatown. probably more subdued than other years but probably still some activities. The "hard" period of mourning is over, and now the country is in "subdued" mode. (The 20th of the month is another anniversary merit-making day for the late king. Don't know if there will be special rules for the entertainment zones that day.) In years past some of the saunas have special parties. Maybe someone else knows if those are still on. not my scene.
  7. or skip the spa and just book him directly on hornet...
  8. kudos to you and kudos to anddy to showing you around. agree 888 is a good dancer and handsome. did you talk with him? I can't figure out his friendliness level. enjoy and be happy.
  9. Thanks. Sometimes I hesitate to post because, with massages as in most rather intimate experiences, "individual results may differ." So any reports I make I best relied on for big picture, rather certainty that every masseur follows same techniques.
  10. Spa Sathorn is an M4M massage spa a short walk from Chong Nonsi BTS station. It doesn't seem to get reports on this forum. I got there about 6:30 on a weekday evening and there seemed to be about 8-12 or so guys milling about. I was ushered into the front room and the manager was very nice and promptly showed me a tablet with photos to select from. I think overall the guys are typical for the larger locally-focused shops - better looking than average, but not all necessarily model looks. Mostly more manly types. There was no price list or menu - which may simply be that there wasn't one in English or that they just don't have one, or that they just didn't show it to me. I knew what I wanted so I didn't really care. One hour oil massage 700 baht. No mention of minimum tip. The facilities are a tad bit run-down/basic, but the towels were clean and large and nice quality, water in the shower hot. Massage table in room with shower. Shower alone before and after. The masseur entered wearing a towel, he dropped before starting the massage. During the massage he was naked throughout and used all the appropriate opportunities to let his junk rest/brush against me when he was giving the massage, which I like and wish more guys did. Massage started with legs, as usual. Paid more attention to butt/glutes than most. Very nice. Flip over and move to "special services" were excellent. There's a review on travelgayasia.com that says the masseur was more interested in his own happy ending than the customer's - in may case I would say it was more like 50-50 equality on that front, which was nice. (At some of the more high-volume shops I think the masseur will often try not to come so he can quickly go back into the pool.) There was no mention of a minimum tip so I gave I think 1,200 (1,000 for a basic 1 hour massage plus extra because I liked the extra effort he put in.) Overall I liked the place. It's not fancy at all. But, like Arena, is just a simple no nonsense place for manly men having man sex. I would recommend being extra clear up front what you are looking for at the time of selection (top/bottom/both). Location: I've submitted the correction to Google Maps, but note that travel gay asia and other maps seem to have the location wrong. It is on the first cross alley running parallel to the main drag, not alley 10.
  11. I was at X-Boys Bangkok last night (Jan 4) and there was definitely rimming show and cum shots (facials).
  12. as ggobkk said, blow job is "sa-mok" or "mok" The "o" is long, as in smoke.
  13. a couple of others that might come in handy: ruk = top rap = bottom both or bot = vers my favorite = cha cha = slow
  14. I think if I had walked out without any tip I would have had to lie to the manager saying I had tipped, not something I like doing, and then I certainly would have expected the manager and masseur to come chasing after me for the tip when they discover that I hadn't tipped, which then would have led to a confrontation and harsh words in different languages and difficult communication and not worth it to me. My orgasm is just not that important. And then the story becomes more one about when is it ok to refuse to tip. And, perhaps even more importantly, if during the process the thought of not tipping seriously crossed my mind then it would absolutely have been my responsibility to tell the masseur during the process. And just because the ending wasn't happy, doesn't mean I didn't enjoy much of it. As I've noted, I was in a happy head space. During massages I only regularly complain about the a/c being too cold and if the masseur is ripping my calves apart. I am sure in Japan there are probably special motels where you can pay people just to sleep in in your arms. I mean even try that some day....
  15. I re-read what I''d written earlier, and I think I explained exactly what was going on in my head. I wrote: "I decide I'm a cool guy; this is oddly intimate; I'll go with the flow. So I relax with him in my arms. I feel kind of proud of myself, because not everyone would put up with this. And I think to myself the prelims were really good, and surely it would all end happily, so ok. And isn't it great he's so comfortable he can just sleep. That's pretty much it for the next forty minutes. I slowly massage his back. All is right in the world He stirs. A little cuddle." So I actually went out of the way in my review to explain exactly what I was thinking and the words I used to describe the nap period are actually quite positive. I found it oddly intimate and ok, but I as I explained, I was expecting that at a full service M4M massage shop that I would still get the happy ending. Now - as to why I put that in my note to the manager, it is because, as I wrote, not everyone would really like it if the masseur naps for any time AND and then doesn't take the 5 minutes (or in my case, often much less ) to give the usual happy ending. And, as I noted, the real "complaint" that led to the posting of the negative review was management's failure even to acknowledge my feedback, which I think is a sign of poor management. Of course, a little mutual napping after a successful happy ending is 100% ok in book.
  16. Yes. I think he was probably tired but he knew full well that he got away with doing a very bad job and he didn't care. Maybe just tired from New Years fun, but in a service business customers get to judge based on the service provided.
  17. King Spa - Bottom Line: Skip It. In the process of updating my BKK massage review guide, which brought me back to King Spa, which is by the Bang Chak BTS station on the Sukhumwit line. Last year I had good experiences and good reports, and I've pretty much been a booster, although I recall one forum member reporting inconsistent experiences. My guy from last year is gone, so I booked someone different. Lest anyone think I only give positive reviews - this was not a particularly good experience. King Spa is a bit of a walk from the BTS station, but there's no traffic so it's quite pleasant. The house is fine. Massage room large, big mat on floor, shower in room. I was on time, but had to wait a bit for the masseur - typical BKK time. Not a big deal. If you don't book ahead based on pics you select from the guys in a room with a glass wall by the entrance. When I'm in "reviewing" mode I tend to be go-with-the flow, let's see how it goes when the masseur is calling the shots. In the first instance I think it's fair to judge a shop on their terms. I also usually start with 90 minute massages - just to see if the shop will fill the whole 90 minutes or do you often get cut short. Masseur wore sarong/pants throughout. The massage was ok, if a bit gentle, but I got the feeling pretty quickly that the guy wasn't a particularly well-trained or good massage (or maybe didn't care). Just basics. (BTW- lack of training or poor massage skills aren't the end of the world for me - enthusiasm will, for me, make up for a lot.) Not too far into the massage (20 mins?) he gave up on my back and legs and had me flip over. So the inner me starts wondering if we'll even get to a full hour, much less 90 minutes, or maybe he was more "let's get the massage over with and move on the the fun stuff" guy. A little attention to the legs then quickly starts massaging my junk. All well and good. I am happy. Then he switches to oral - very skilled. I am very happy. After a few minutes of that he lay down next to me and starts a very slow tantalizing hand job. I'm ok. This could be really great. This goes on for about 5 minutes and I am thinking to myself, "Very interesting, sort of tantric experience. I like." Then he falls asleep. Seriously. I decide I'm a cool guy; this is oddly intimate; I'll go with the flow. A little cuddle. And then he says "Up. Times up." Seriously. He tells me I can shower and goes off. I do shower. There's no tea or water or anything. I make my way to the door and pay and say I don't know where the boy went and give the manager the tip. Rather than complain at the time, which gets messy and language difficulties can easily make things worse, out in the soi I pop a quick note on Line saying that the experience was bad, the boy did nothing but sleep for 40 minutes, and no happy ending. Read, but no reply. For me that's the real problem. Everyone is entitled to bad day, and maybe a bad masseur (although this guy has been working there for a long time) - they're quick to respond to booking requests but can't be bothered to reply to complaints even with a simple "sorry you had a bad time, next time better" means a management problem as well as a masseur problem. Truth is had they responded to my note I probably would not have written this, but I would have stopped mentioning them as a place to go. So the good news is I get a pretty good story out of it, even if I do feel a but taken advantage of. The better news is that there are already so many other massage shops in town that I really like that I can cross King Spa off the list without worry, and direct my energy and budget to more satisfying places.
  18. what Anddy wrote +1 Also, a young couple would I am sure be welcome at the more "Thai" clubs. They can be a lot of fun and a good chance to experience the young thai gay scene not aimed at tourist crowd. Fake Club and Celebrity Club seem to be popular right now. https://www.facebook.com/fakeclubthenextgen/ https://www.facebook.com/CelebrityClubBKK/?fref=ts If armed with earplugs and even a smidgen of adventurous spirit you guys might also consider going to a mixed "Dancing Isaan" club in Bangkok. Everyone is super friendly and a lot of fun. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tamnan-Kon-E-San/247241815309474
  19. To be complete I should note that at the end of the evening if I don't off the boy I have been sitting with I of course also give a cash tip. Personally I find the statements certain people make on the aboard that the boys are lazy or stupid etc. unjustified and inappropriate.
  20. Personally, when I ask a boy to sit with me, whether as a first step towards an off or just for warm company while watching the show, I always buy him a drink. The show at X-Boys is so long, it sometimes turns into two drinks. The boy makes some money, he stays in the mamasan's good graces and the bar makes the money it deserves for putting on the show and providing the lineup of available guys. I would be happier if the drink prices were lower. There are other board members who are far friendlier than I will ever be, and are friends with half the boys at the bar. (Paulsf I won't name names.) When those many many boys voluntarily go to chat and say hello with such a member, i've seen the mamasan still try to push drinks (!), but there I think it is perfectly fine to say no. I keep on a pretty strict budget, so it may mean that buying bar drink(s) for the boys means I have to stay in and skip the bars for a day or two. Seems fair to me.
  21. Unfortunately a lot of "destination" hotels try to distinguish themselves by throwing on over-the-top buffets. It used to be that it was relatively easy to get promotion packages from Le Meridien Bangkok that had breakfast included. That was how I got to sample the fare when I used to stay there. I don't know if they still offer those packages.
  22. Le Meridien breakfast is crazy expensive but it is a great spread with lots of everything, and I recall particularly good pastries. There is a cute little place called the Hen and Egg on Langsuan a short walk from the Rajadamri BTS station. Nice staff and food is fine (actually better than fine). Not quite Le Meridien. https://www.facebook.com/thehenandtheegg/ If you walk down Soi Mahatlekluang 3 - one of the BTS exits - there is a connecting alley of sorts next to the Villa Market that connects directly to Langsuan and it is just to your right (i.e., towards Lumpini). Stickmanweekly.com I think often reports on pubs for the girl gogo bar expat crowd that offer moderately priced "English breakfast" spots. Needless to say not my scene, so can't really offer rec.
  23. I think basic rules for Soi Twilight gogo bars are as discussed. Different topic of course regarding some guys featured in the "shows" or coyote dancers (in some bars) can't be offed until after they've done their job. And then of course there are the [in]famous non-offable guys at Scorpion. Arena is very up front, I think it's even on their website, that after the massage you and your masseur are free to do what you want. Other shops, particularly those with a smaller stable of guys, have different rules, and now that more and more shops have special outcall rates, you might expect to be required to pay that.
  24. It may be that some bars treat some of the "salary" as coming from the off fee, or boys get bonuses based on offs - assuming they've complied with all the other rules. I don't know. Some boys have different arrangements. Dancers making more. But I think we're agreed that the if the boy doesn't show up when he's supposed to he has to pay the off fee (bar fine), and then doesn't turn around and get any of that back as his cut. So there may be different ways of thinking about it.
