There's likely to be some construction either at airport or en route to Pattaya for a long time.
They're meant to be extending Swampy, making the 'Chonburi corridor' a special investment zone, extending U-Tapao, building a new railway, upgrading the roads, building another underpass on Sukhumvit near Pattaya once they finally finish the first one etc etc.
Extending U-Tapao is interesting. On one hand I enjoy my direct flight into BKK not so much the drive to Pattaya. With the Pattaya airport expansion more international flights will happen. I doubt there will be a direct flight from Perth unfortunately. But I might be able to get connecting flights from Singapore or KL without the overnight stay

I wonder if the ceremony will be Thais only.
I once met a young English girl who was teaching for a year in Thailand. She was expected to become essentially Thai whilst staying there. She had to leave tributes at the shrine and wai as she passed any pictures or statues of the king. She was always the Farang but tried to keep everyone happy. I'm sure others in that situation would like to pay their respects

It wasn't that difficult when you watch the clear video at link below. Police report that they "were still looking for the woman." And I'm sure they are.

KOH SAMUI — A man whose roadside coupling on Samui became the subject of an on line sex clip was made to apologize to reporters and the public on camera after being fined by police Tuesday.
Pons Crespo Arnau, 28 of Spain, admitted to being the man in the viral video that appeared to show him having sex in broad daylight along a beach road Monday. He was fined 500 baht for public obscenity.
“I am so sorry for everybody in Thailand,” he said, making a wai gesture, to a reporter who followed him out of the police station. “I know it’s not good, but I drank too much.”
Arnau said he just met the woman, who he said was Russian, Sunday night. They drank until morning before going to the beach. Police were still looking for the woman.

Oh, but this link is to a couple doing it on the beach. The original video shows a couple doing it in the back of a Baht bus. I'm presuming they weren't the same couple

Bomb throwing is OK,
it's unnecessary dwelling on issues and inability by some to accept that their view is not shared by everybody which is source of degeneration of threads instead of simple agreement to disagree.
Hopefully waters will calm now for a while.
It would be nice if you continue with reports but resume only if you feel you have fun posting again. There are lot of people here who appreciate amount of work necessary to produce trip report.
Well I'll add my 2cents worth. I love trip reports (with or with out pics or hardcore sex) I just hope both Vessey and Numazu will start posting them again in the not too distant future. And of course I look forward to more of the legendary Vinapu's trip reports

Chiang Mai is not an alternative option at all to Pattaya the gay scene there is almost non exist once I had been there 2 years ago I understood it was much vibrant in the past but it faded away.
I'm told Chang Mai has only a few gay bars (like 2 maybe). But the availability of various boys on the Apps is quite good. I guess my point was if they close down the bars etc in Pattaya then only the apps will provide the service I'm looking for, therefore almost any location in LOS would be OK

I haven't been to Phuket for a few years now, but last time I was there Paradise Complex in Patong had a few gogo bars and host bars. Unfortunately I was travelling with someone and so didn't get the chance to check them out

I am just getting to know the bars of Jomtien, but so far I have taken a liking to the 'At Home Bar' in the Jomtien Complex (has its own FaceBook page). Nice friendly place, open from 4pm, and great to chill and watch the world go by - oh yes and it has some nice twinks as well to keep you company.
Are all the bars in Jomtien Complex open this early? I would love an afternoon ST occasionally, but usually resort to apps or my regular guy

I do love going to Pattaya. I've spent the majority of my time there over the last 22 trips.
I would never swim at the beach, but to be fair I only live 800m from the beach in my home country and I never swim at the beach here either, despite the pristine coastline, it's just not my thing.
During my earlier trips I spent time at gogo bars looking for a soulmate nowadays I use the apps more than anything. I guess the attraction for me is the availability of the bars if I so wish. Close them down and I still have my apps or maybe start looking to Chang Mai or other places.
Not much of anything unique in Pattaya to keep me coming back

Going back a few years ago I would have a Singapore stop over on the way home from Thailand. I found the main streets to be clean but go one street back and it could have been in Pattaya (litter wise anyway)
I enjoyed the food but also didn't fins any good nightly activity, so I gave up going

I do love somtam,but never have the raw fish etc in it.
Although my somtam gets made by the same guys that have all the raw food.
So I guess there is the very real risk of cross contamination as I've never seen them rinse out the mortar (or is it the pestle, I never know)
I guess I'll have a chat to my Doctor at the next appointment coz I'm not giving up somtam

I like the idea of a new forum but think 200 posts is a big ask. I would like to see it lowered, especially as many more members seem to read the forum and prefer not to post.
Whether they post or not, as members, they are still participating of they log on and read the forum.
I'd hate to think that we lost members because of it. The newbies, of which there are many on this forum, will take ages to rack up 200 meaningful posts. It would seem like an eternity to them and we are in danger of them leaving. We need to do everything to encourage them to stay.
Yes 200 posts seems a long way away for me at the moment. I probably could get there in a week or two but they would be useless posts that add nothing to the forum, so would it be worth it? For me yes...

Pretty ironic that a bunch of guys that date hookers criticize a guy that could have a good catch. Please show pics of you with your latest boy toy and let us judge you. At leas they speak the same language and they both most likely have a job. I would really like people commenting on looks to post a pic of them with their Tawan boy or twink to let others comment.

I hope you get some good info here. My next trip will center around Jomtien. I've only ever made quick trips on the back of a motorbike. Never had the chance to look around.
There is an abundance of restaurants on the jomtien 'beach' road. We did stop at one, no idea of the name. But it had tables set out basically on the beach side footpath. So we were overlooking the sand and water. Pleasant enough and good food.
The bars in the Jomtien complex cater for your (and my) tastes. I'm still confused as to how the bars there work. I'm presuming it's just like a gogo bar in terms of offing a boy for some night time fun
Hornet and Gayromeo are in my opinion the better apps to use
There is apparently a night market on the main road, somewhere near soi 9. Anyone been there?? It's got the usual stalls selling stuff I don't won't, but I love eating in the that type of place

Has anyone stayed in Hua Hin recently?
I have a friend that has just returned (not gay so no good info) that says it's a great place. Good food, clean beaches not as tourisy as Pattaya ( ie no touts for massage etc)
I can only see a couple of gay bars (old info). Whats a good area to look for accommodation? Any recommendations? Anyone had luck on hornet etc?
I might like a couple of nights there next trip. Near the beach and gay bar if possible
