I felt safer in Medellin then Bogota but the difference is not big , and basically I felt safe in both. I found the apps and Romeo useful in both cities. The climate no comparison, to my taste Medellin far nicer. Both deserve a visit and of course which you like better will probably be determined by which boys were better from your perspective. I agree with most of what you said except cost of boys in Pattaya are not that dissimilar when you factor in all the costs and there is a much better App Boys where the cost is again similar to what you will pay in Brazil after you factor in Sauna fees, room fees etc etc etc.

If you were ok in Brazil then it is likely you will be ok in Colombia. In Rio it is well known you can't go to an ATM machine after dark and especially when not in a tourist area brightly lit. In fact walking down the street on Copacabana teen age gangs may attack you if you are wearing Gold or watch, camera etc. I never had a problem in Brazil but was well armed with what not to do. I never had any such feelings in Colombia although I certainly arm myself with areas not to visit Bogota is a gigantic city and there are many areas that might not be safe just like NYC, Chicago, Mia etc. Hire yourself a guide off of PlanetRomeo or Hornet to show you around the first night and have Sex . Then you are likely to be introduced to his friends who would like to make money and will not want anything to happen to you. I know I stayed in the Hilton in Bogota and always registers my guests and since they had to present ID , they were likely to make sure nothing happened to me.

Since I meet that description, I can attest you will have no problem as long as you don't mind paying .. Good chance after the first time yo pay they'll be happy that you pay for the night out.(sometimes) I also went to Cartagena , however I found my lack of Spanish more inhibiting . I like Medellin because of its modern architecture , shopping malls etc. Bogota is more of an Old City which I like. Bogota is 3x as big so naturally many more boys on Hornet, Grindr, Romeo etc. Climate in Medellin is more consistent and quite nice. The drive from airport to Medellin is really beautiful, reminds me of Austria. I like them both but Bogota is just more diverse . No matter where you go in Colombia, there are boys available!. Flights are cheap and short between the 2 cities so if you are traveling a long way , why not see both?

Still pretty simple if you really want to go. Fly LH RT to Bogota ( excellent connections) and there are many flights all day Bogota to Medellin for $40-60. If you are going there should visit both . Lots more choices in Bogota (much bigger)

Not sure where you are looking for your flights? Plenty of 1 stop options with 2 hour change overs in the $600 range. Fares are similar and flight times much less? Departures from 2 London airports.

My vote would be Bogota and Medellin.. Both are safe if you don't wander into bad areas. Numerous reports here on Colombia.

That is fine as long as you acknowledge that there are many beach cities rather then Rio being the only one where paradise and business coexist. Paradise can be defined in many ways and not just a place where Cheap Sex can be had. All the others in that list and I think many more would consider themselves Paradise co- existing with cities.
