I try out different gyms (day or month pass) when longstaying Rio. Late Dec on 1st day at a Lapa gym, 25 min walk from apt, immediately spot this enormous stacked 6'5" mainly Afro-admixtured muscle-stud on the weights level. I try not to get bogged down by hesitation, so promptly introduced myself, which is easier in Brazil, to "Rafael" and asked if he competed ... no. A few friendly looks exchanged working out. I thought: OK, I like this academia and I have 5 weeks to flirt to possible fruition ... but it would be a gay-for-pay situation. I am 2.5X his age. I tend to get a little obsessional and fixated.
Second gym visit, happens to be a Tuesday, Jan 2. Rafael is wrapping up and we greet each other as he departs. Imprinting complete. I have to have this massive hunk. There are a few somewhat similar to him at 117, but I like a challenge and varied contexts.
That evening I check into 117 and see this new sauna guy standing up the few steps from reception at the staircase landing. I am a tad confused and impressed. I don't know him from the saunas, but he looks so familiar, but with 50% more skin. It is Rafael !!! We both burst out laughing. 
Minutes later this sweet-tempered power-top is fulfilling the few days of fantasies I had gotten worked up over. Big but knows how not to destroy. He is an infrequent attender, I later vaguely remembered possibly seeing him within the previous 3 years, so either he intuitively read me as a sauna tourist or it was a stroke (erm, several strokes) of good fortune for me!

It is mandatory to be able to produce photo ID. If a xerox copy of passport is what you carry it is advisable to accompany it with another original document such as student, health, driver lic card. But it should have picture, name, and date of birth corresponding to passport copy. 

Your report reconfirms my decision to not go to Rio during Carnival.  
I went during Carnival only once - in 2004.  
I have visited Brazil more than one hundred times since that one visit during Carnival,.  During my one carnival visit, other than my hearing loud music and noise, my view was totally blocked by enormous crowds.  All I could see when I went out in the crowds was the backs of thousands of people in lines in front of me.  If I looked straight up in the air, I could see occasional fireworks. 
I waited for the excitement of Carnival to begin while I could hear the crowds screaming and yelling in happiness. 
After I while, I thought to myself, is that all there is to Carnival?
I get no enjoyment from being in Rio at Carnival time when prices are doubled (or more) and crowds are unmanageable.    
I am glad you are having a good time.   Carnival is a good thing to experience - once. 

I almost immediately rewatched LG's I Am Love (2009) on Netflix after viewing CMBYN. Definitely worth a look particularly if you missed it. Interestingly, the story begins in snowy winter Italy and ends in summer, with camera on main character outdoors during endroll. 

I think that you will find, Erik, that there is not much familarity among members here with respect to the specific advertisers you list.
I echo the caution advice of others here if you are inexperienced.
I look at the sites all the time and I find that the saunas have better looking guys. And you can see up front what you are getting. I also sense that some of the destaques look bigger than in person because they tend to be short in stature. Without true visual perspective the actual body mass may not be great, especially if you yourself are tall. Some of these guys might advertise because there is a "trickle down" effect in which the hottest guys may be more prevalent in the spas, and the guys advertising might not do well there. Or as suggested, some of them can be found in both location types. 
Why are you negatively predisposed to the spas? Providing context helps to focus our responses.
Remember that you can source and vet guys at the spas as well if one of the things driving your preference is having them in your own space. 
As you can see, we may be getting off page regarding your inquiry because you have not really told us anything other than listing a bunch of guys we don't likely know.

Friday saw a lot more working guys, similarly not at all attractive compared to Rio, SP, Salvador. More like Fortaleza (and my personal poor albeit brief experience PA). But as the sayings go, sometimes a pearl can be found if you see a unicorn and search up its arse and rifle thru the oysters there, and on Friday one of the most stunning looking guys I have ever seen and done in BRZ (hell, in my lifetime, anywhere) was present and available. He redeemed the trip sexually and person-wise aesthetically, but I am a little pissed that he is there and not interested in travel, and that our encounter was at wrap-up, because I may have to return just for him and the place itself IMHO is really not worth visiting outside of this obsession.

By the time I got to Pope Frank's day 7 I was so fed up with the typically obsessional and inane money/gift riffing that I threw in the towel as was smothered by a wet blanket. The topic got off to a great start. Nothing new is being said about the currencies, even the more thoughtful insightful contributions have been covered ad infinitum. I for one can live without these interminable intermissions. An interest in Curitiba and Francis' fun (though rudely interrupted) presentation style may impel me to circle back. But I feel it is more important to protest having my enjoyment fucked over than to continue reading. 
It is like being at a 4 ring circus where the 4th ring is expendable and needs to be carpet bombed or placed stand alone once and for all. Guys, please please please shut the fuck up and allow a good post to thrive. 
I will give it a shot again next month. Maybe there will be some good unblocked information flow.

My months in Rio are not about to reviewed here because , frankly, I think there is a partial collective Tourette's-like (involuntary?) verbal diarrhea slinging about money, rates, gifts, blah blah blah. I took these Thanksgiving week. Great excursion potential with your favorite BT from SP, Rio, BA, etc. No guy would turn down the invite. Many have not had the chance. 48 hours noon to noon worked well. It is also offers a chance to try out a travel companion short-term.
The area has muito mucho tourist dollars pumped in. the most manicured district of Brazil I have seen. The drive in to the ARG side parque is pretty. 
I recommend Hotel Pousada Guata Pora ... family-friendly, gay-friendly but I liked this time that it was low-season and no kids, just a small mixed array of couples. Great breakfast, and they rotate in evening chefs for optional hearty dinner buffet. Incredible grounds and location. Huge Chalets built like brick shithouses. A steal. Sweetheart staff.

Classy digs, for sure ... thought about a drink on the terrace if permissible, but it is complicated if you are not a guest there integral to the BRZ-side park. You were certainly not self-deprivational!
Too bad about the vid ... I did capture my own double rainbow shot, though, as most visitors do.

Hahahaha ... some of you caught on to there being no clear point in my attempts to contribute to the payment topic. Could anybody really sum up and knit together the many, often disparate, pieces of thought put forward here? I could give a rat's ass about anyone's opinion on this subject because I don't need to have an opinion of my own about this subject. I think this makes me the most sane or insane person in the thread. That is how nutty it is.
I must admit, though, there is an obsessionality about it and we we will see it played out in interminable groundhog day style. I find myself drawn to the posts like a moth to flame. You can almost time to the minute when money will inevitably come up. Once introduced into a thread it becomes like a fast-spreading weed choking out the topic's purpose. It can never be shut down because too many posters need to have the last word, and too much attention span is required. I hope mine is not the final word that shuts it down. Who could tolerate such omnipotence?
I find the whole thing incredibly amusing as a kind of collective character trait, ideas defying meaningful integration while colliding off each other. Then me unwittingly putting myself out there as a whipping boy, offering the one opportunity for unification among those polarized in their futile attempts to give readers a true roadmap for the topic of money.
Interestingly, I think this topic should never be shelved because it cannot be put to rest. It is immortal and beloved. I think we should just resign ourselves to living with it, stockholm syndrome style. I get a kick out of it, while kicking myself for it.
