Doxy Prep (vs PEP) is also being studied.  after prompting my doctor for a prescription (requested 100 mg/day) he researched and prescribed 200 mg/day as PrEP during periods of high activity. (the same dose they give kids for acne and have been doing for years).  I used it, and I KNOW I was repeatedly exposed to Gonorrhea without infection.  I believe it  also helped with travelers Diarrhea.
I only use it (doxy and HIV PrEP) when I am sexually active with multiple partners.
Long term use effects are well known for Doxy as it has been on the market since 1967.
Drug resistance is promoted when the organism survives treatment.  If you are taking the antibiotic until the bacteria is killed, drug resistance cannot occur.  failing to complete your prescription for treatment of a condition promotes resistance.  (as does feeding it to billions of chickens...)
HIV PrEP cannot cure HIV (at the dose we are prescribed) but can prevent it from taking hold.  THe same concept applies to Doxy PrEP, you get a small exposure, it is rapidly killed before it can gain a hold on your body.  THe goal of PEP is to kill it before hte infection is substantial.  I use HIV PrEP on demand,  I take Doxy PEP after a random encounter.  I take PrEP (HIV and Doxy) when I occasionally go out whoring.
I am NOT selling Doxy PrEP/PEP, but I do not understand why a person who takes HIV PrEP is afraid of Doxy.

There are many clinics that cater to LGBTQIA+ health in Bogotá. One of the best known (for gay men) is Clinica Salud Sexual Masculina in Usaquén Cl. 99 #49- 38 Oficina 609, Barrios Unidos, Bogotá, Cundinamarca.  They also advertise in some of the local online sites and forums.
There is another on Carrera 7 near the Four Seasons hotel that I know about that is a walk-in clinic, but a Google search turned up nothing.

In Colombia, buy doxy in pharmacy (no prescription required). Yes, its not 100% protection, but still significant.

People who work in malaria regions take doxy for months. CDC has not established maximum limit/period as no negative impacts is known.
Post sex regimen is one  pill after the event.

Prep users are under medical monitoring, the drugs are from the same family as hiv drugs (now ca 30 years of experience). I would be more concerned about the alcohol use (including moderate).

So if you take prep for hiv, are vaccinated against HPV, hepatitis B; tested for hepatitis C, and take doxy for other STIs, you are the safest sex partner possible for others and you protect yourself best. Condom only do not provide such protection.

You can carry chlamydia, gonorrhea and/or syphilis for weeks / months and even years without knowing and keep on spreading it : sex workers, clients, classic partners, regular or not, ...
Some people have symptoms, others don't,
After all, syphillis is also known as the great simulator / imitator.
Hence the importance of regular testing.

I don't know the answer to the testing site question, but I suggest you research Doxy PeP/ PReP and add that to your largely prevents bacterial STIs, leaving only the herpes virus as aN STI to worry about.

It's not the first time I've had one (usually one of the three : syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea), I know quickly because I usually have strong symptoms that I quickly recognise as it's always in the throat.
For the antibiotic treatment to work, you need to know what the STI is.
Having an STI is one thing but being positive and contaminate other guys is another, so testing is essential.
In my country / city testing is easy, quick and free of charge for sex workers (includind foreigners) and LGBT people.
I was wondering if there were any places in Bogota where to get tested anonymously (especially for strangers with a low level in spanish language, let's say A2-), discreet, free of charge or not and treated if positive.
If not, does anyone know how STD testing and treatments work in Bogota?
