  1. Hi guys, do any of you know of a massage spa, waxing for back, body scrub, etc. would like to have legit services, but gay (if that exists)
  2. Hi everyone…. At one point someone posted a link to a website of love motels in Colombia (or maybe it was Medellin). Does anyone recall that post or link? I’ve done a bit of digging and can’t seem to find it. Could you re-up if you do? Thank you!

  4. They have a great movie theater as well and on weekends play free movies outside on a large screen and that grassy area and steps are packed with people…
  5. I went with a local and that was the rate they paid at bodytech also. The rates are published in website it’s a national chain. Other gyms like smartfit are less.
  6. Yes, gyms are one of the things that are expensive for locals, it’s why you see so many locals working out at the free outdoor gyms. Bodytech is equivalent of an equinox in US that comes with a $200/mo price tag in most US cities… there are lots of whole in the wall gyms I see in every neighborhood. Those are prob much less expensive.
  7. Triangle is totally walkable. I second mac’s laureles lofts recommendation
  8. Gyms: For those of you who are visiting regularly or long term I recommend getting a gym membership at BodyTech. It’s about $50 a USD, minimum two months, but day passes are super expensive. ultra gym at the charlee is awesome too. About $60 USD a month no minimum. There’s only one location, right in center of Parque Lleras and while it’s a better gym, I chose bodytech for convenience. English speaking trainers here, about $15-20 a session. There’s also a CrossFit, CrossFit deluxe in poblado that is amazing. Great trainers, great people. skip smartfit, they are all tiny and it’s super crowded. if In laureles and u don’t wanna do BodyTech, there is an old school body builder gym that is largely outside, but I love it. It’s called Magnum. Trainers: I have a great trainer. He’s independent, but if you pay for his gym membership (or use one of the free outdoor gyms) he will train you for roughly $8-12 a session and Uber ($3-4 US each way). DM and I’ll get you his info. He’s gay but not an escort. And I don’t think he’d like being propositioned. But who knows?
  9. @tassojunior has it been a minute since you’ve visited Medallo? They finished construction on a couple tunnels thru the mountains in the last few years… airport is 25 mins outside of Poblado now. Much easier trip. Also, haven’t found it difficult to meet guys — although I heard that was the case from a few years back…. Bars are full, and folks are friendly. Grindr and Scruff are very popular as well… Spanish/English is a larger prob as most (not all) guys are Spanish only… def recommend Medellin.
  10. It rains almost every day in Medellin, but they are short showers, an hour max... rest of day is gorgeous. Plenty of opportunity to walk and explore. Also Ubers are plentiful and very inexpensive. Grab an umbrella, you’re going to be a-ok. Enjoy!
  11. Take 100s in USD, it’s much easier to exchange them at the blue exchange. Def use cash as the blue rate is almost 2 to 1 better than if you use your credit card or get $ out of atm
  12. Most countries it doesn’t matter, with the exception of Argentina. I was turned away at the blue exchange centers for not having $100s…
  13. El poblado is very popular with locals. Medellin, until very recently, wasn’t a tourist destination — so there aren’t areas that are just “tourist” spots, like Times Square. Just because tourists go to Poblado, doesn’t mean it’s not authentic. Tourists go to Greenwich Village and Central Park — but it’s full of actual New Yorkers who live in and around those neighborhoods. You’d be missing out if you skipped Poblado. You should stay in Poblado and use it as your launchpad to go other places… I would stay outside a 10-15 min walk radius of Parque Lleras, although you definitely want to check it out on the weekend… it’s where thousands of Colombians descend to chill on the street, hang out in the park or drink and eat.
  14. Poblado is very large. The antisex tourism campaign is primarily around Parque Lleras which is the party hub. If you stay in Poblado but 15-20 min walk away from Lleras you shouldn’t have problems bringing guys back unless you are staying at a very very nice place.
  15. I’ve been back and forth to medellin a few times recently. It’s not any less fun due to pandemic. And probably safer than Rio — as vaccination rates are fairly high (comparatively) about 50% of country has one dose.
  16. I can work out on my own, but I prefer working out with a trainer or at CrossFit gym, because all the workouts are guided with trainers. I get much better workouts and I push myself harder. So… I always hire trainers. And yep, I prefer a trainer who is actually a trainer not an escort with a good body, but there is often crossover. also, I don’t mind working out at the park or hotel gyms. Agree many gyms in SA (and in US) don’t have great trainers. Best are almost always independent and affiliated with a personal training gym, CrossFit gym, or train folks in their home. I think I’ve found a trainer in Colombia. Thanks for touch points guys.
  17. Jaja. Not rocket science. I’ve always worked out with trainers. Often times trainers escort on the side or — if they are attracted — play after a workout. Finding the ven diagram overlap of a good trainer and a gay escort or guy willing to play isn’t always easy — so was asking for tips from folks that have traveled as I am frequenting these 3 locations more often now…
  18. Hi guys, I prefer working out with trainers, even when traveling. Anyone have recommendations on how to find gay trainers while traveling, particularly in Colombia, Mexico and Brasil? Would not mind a train (and more) situation. 🤑 I typically do a drop in at a CrossFit gym and find one that way, but they are never gay and the “and more” is def not on the table. Note: I do want the guy to be an actual fitness trainer tho, not just someone with a good body.
  19. Avoid those places if you want to regularly have guests. If you stay right in Parque Lleras o Parque Poblano you’re going to have issue with doormen cracking down on sex tourism. If you stay a bit outside it gets a bit better. But I’d recommend asking up front if you can have friends over and what are the rules. Even outside of Lleras area, You’ll def have to have guests show ids at nearly all places but this isn’t really an issue with guys in Medellin — everyone is used to it. DM me and I can help a bit. Also Macdaddi knows a lot about Medellin.
  20. Pay no mind to @Slvkguyhe speaks so negatively about Miami, and generalizes about all Miami men — and as a Miami Beach guy, I can say his version of Miami is not what I experience, living here. Miami scene is way more than the beach. You have Wynwood which is always slammed and a lot of fun. Little Havana, Little River and Brickell have cool bars and lots of pop up warehouse parties. Not to knock FTL, but it doesn’t have the vibe or the swag of Miami hot spots. Hit up any bar in Wynwood or head to Space, 11, Palace, the basement at the Edition, Blackbird Ordinary, the Wood, Swan, Soho House, Deuces, or Nandos and Komodo after hours.... or this weekends pop-up cocktail lounge promoted by a celeb or promoter... @Slvkguyis right that FTL is traditional gay, it’s a scene is focused on oddly lit gay bars in strip malls, playing gay pop anthems mixed with club dance DJ sets, the kind of place that always need a good cleaning and the kind of place we’ve already spent so much of our lives in... guys in muscle tees or sparkly tank tops, cargo shorts and flip flops. Miami’s scene is mixed, restaurants turned to night clubs after hours, gays and straights dancing together, hanging together, cruising and flirting together... it’s vibier, way sexier and I think a lot more fun. and no, all Miami gays don’t go to FTL for the weekend. You go up maybe once every 5 or 6 weeks, when a friend wants to hit the bear bar in FTL (there isn’t a good one in Miami) or a friend just got dumped and wants boys night — outside of Miami. Nobody in Miami hates the gay scene in Miami. If we did we’d move, FTL is a lot cheaper and only 30 mins away. Gays who live in Miami think it’s head and shoulders above FTL. It’s just a very different scene — and just cuz SlvkGuy doesn’t like it doesn’t mean the rest of the rest of the gay world feels the same. Most of my friends from other places in US all hit up Miami, not FTL...
  21. Did you end up making travel arrangements?
