I can confirm @Mapraou info. I met with the Tawan guys last night at the 7-Eleven near the former Tawan where the guys hangout as previously reported by @roughjock. Most of them looked like they've seen better days. The cheeky former tout/doorman from Tawan "suggested" that I joined them for drink (which means that I need to go buy a drink from 7-Eleven and some drinks for the guys too) and I happily obliged 🤣.
Some info I got from them:
1. The guys hanging out there are available for "offs". I saw a few of them trying to catch the attention of the ladies passing by 🤣. That former doorman was also heavily pushing for me to off one of the guys there and then 😅. The down side is that, since we were in the street and with their full clothes on, you can't really tell if they've been maintaining their bodies or which one appeals to you the most.
2. The bar is said to be open again towards the later part next month but as with all news in Thailand, take it with a pinch (or in this case, a spoonful) of salt.
Looking to off one or two of them in the following nights, hopefully for me to have a good time and to show support for the guys from one of my favourite bars. 🙂

I woke up with a bit of a panic attack, realizing that the reason I initially opted for a short time is that I have an online work meeting scheduled for that morning. I sprinted out of bed, made my best effort to look human, pumped caffeine into my system, and managed to be in front of my laptop with a few minutes to spare.
Everything was smooth sailing, with the only exception being that I kept getting distracted by the view of a gorgeous man lying on my bed, partially wrapped in a blanket. For a moment, Tan woke up, tried to get up, but when he saw what I was doing, he looked at me, smiled, and decided to continue his slumber. This is just so surreal for me.
After that mad morning dash, I was ready to relax and retire back to bed. Tan, thinking I was waking him up, wrapped his arms around me, requesting a few more minutes, which I was happy to oblige. I think we slept for a good hour, as when we managed to go get breakfast, the buffet looked sad and deserted, so we decided to venture out.
I think overall, hiring Tan was a good choice. Aside from his good looks and engaging personality, his English is reasonably okay, allowing us to have a conversation. One disappointing thing, though, was that he didn't initiate an extra round that morning (I was willing to pay extra but too shy to ask! Lol). By almost 12 p.m., he left, asking for a repeat performance.
By midday, I was bored and running out of ideas to keep myself entertained. I then messaged S'sense asking if Knott is available, but unfortunately, he's not. After browsing through the roster, I settled on Singha. He's well-built and good-looking, so my excitement level went through the roof.
I arrived in Suan Plu with a good half hour left before my appointment. I decided to cool off and have an iced coffee to kill time. An Amazon Cafe franchise could be seen a few meters away. Bad choice, as I learned the hard way. Nothing was wrong with their products, but for this small shop, the ground floor housed the ordering area, and you had to climb up the stairs to access the dining area. This is where things became interesting. The steepness of the stairs became the least of your concerns as the narrow steps and wobbly handrail became the prime challenge. I am not exaggerating, but my size EU42/US9 feet had to tiptoe sideways to manage each step as I climbed up. While having coffee, I was already shuddering at the thought of climbing down and was wondering how such structures could be granted consent - a question I answered myself: this is Thailand!
After basically rappelling down the stairs, I was finally off to my rendezvous with Singha. Mr. S (the boss) also sent me a Line message, telling me to send him a message if I'm dissatisfied or if the masseur asked for more tip. I found this very reassuring, although I hoped the handsome Mr. S himself would do the massage!
Upon entering, everything flowed like clockwork: drawing the privacy curtain, getting tea served, Singha removing my shoes and replacing them with indoor sandals. While I was enjoying my tea, he returned with a selection of oils and asked me to choose which one I preferred. While I didn't really care about oils, etc., I thought of going with the flow and sampled a couple before making my choice.
In the room, I asked for hard pressure, which Singha happily obliged, with a request that I let him know right away if his pressure was too strong. A few minutes later, I could see why; his strokes were really good and robust, the type that you know will leave you sore (in a good way) the next day. As requested, he focused on my back and glutes, and it was heavenly.
Then he climbed onto the massage bed and started doing a body-to-body massage. He then asked me to lie on my back and continued massaging with him on top of me. He kissed very passionately, and I got flustered every time he made eye contact, flashing his mischievous smile. I managed to work my way out, and with me on top, I took time to run my hands and enjoy his gorgeous body. We took turns, careful not to fall from the massage bed. I consider myself very picky, but even then, ive had some duds before. But i still consider bars to be the preferred way to get my guy of the night, as i preferred LT, and its the bar that gives me higher rate of willing guys.
Many masseurs arent even willing to meet outside their workplace, even less that are willing to take LT after whole day working at the center. Though i blame myself too as i rarely make effort to take them off site as i like the massage table better when getting massage. Plus considering they can get more per hour in the center, especially if they are popular, its hard to motivate them to be with you LT, unless you are willing to be more generous.
I wouldnt bank on straight top guy to bottom for you either. Very unlikely itll lead to a satisfaction ending. 
 

I think the Thai Ministry of Tourism should toss this forum a commission for all the spur-of-the-moment trips it inspires. I mean, who wouldn't feel a twinge of envy and rush to book a trip after scrolling through those Thailand adventures and tips written here? So, there I was, bitten by the travel bug, and voila! ------ found myself booking an unplanned trip to the land of smiles.
Touching down in Bangkok after a longer than usual stopover in Taiwan, I braced myself for the infamous immigration snake lines. But despite the full queues, every counter was promptly manned, and I breezed through. Maybe because cause of the build up in immigration, baggage claim took less than a minute, thanks to my luck and  eagle eyes spotting my luggage as soon as I approached the carousel. Sorted out some cash and a SIM card, then off to my pre-booked pickup. As I got whisked off from my pickup point, I was hit with that warm, unmistakable Bangkok air, making me buzz with excitement and giddiness for the adventures ahead.
Hotel check-in was expected to be a breeze, yet I found myself low-key panicking as my card repeatedly acted up declining the transaction.  It finally dawned on me that I had forgotten to adjust the low maximum spend setting—a habit whenever I travel.
The allocated room seemed reasonable initially, but its issues became apparent later. After showering off my jetlag, I hailed a taxi for my pre-booked appointment at S'sense Spa in Suan Plu.
Knott was still at the spa and appeared delighted to see me. Upon asking if he really remember me, he promptly identified me by removing my socks pointing at my ankle tattoo, a gesture that left me both shocked and impressed. The quality of my session with Knott, both massage and cheeky extras, remained consistently good as I remembered. This explains my choice of S'sense as my first stop—a reassuring and safe start to the trip, saving the fun experimentation, risks, and disappointments for later.
Following purchase of supplies and stocking the fridge, jetlag began to rear its ugly head. Nevertheless, I resolved to push through and explore Silom.
To my disappointment, Tawan remained shuttered, prompting me to wax nostalgic reminiscing nights spent there, particularly recalling that going to Tawan was  my first foray into Silom nightlife. My first ever off was with Tawan's hunky Lek, given my hotel was close by (the now defunct Glitz).
Although tempted to inquire about familiar faces nearby, shyness prevailed, fearing potential embarrassment if they were not from Tawan.
I strolled towards Hotmale, noted a familiar performance and lineup except for a cute, smiling hunk whom I promptly invited to join me. He's from Myanmar and only been working there for four months. He has a very sweet and friendly demeanour. Being a rookie, he seems to be very dependent on translation apps. I typically don't mind language barriers, often finding them endearing and cute. But given my fatigue from travel and jetlag, I decided to listen to my body and give tonight a pass. I bid him farewell with a bit generous tip, sincerely promising to return.
And that, folks, is how I ended up with no off on my first night in Bangkok!

I'm heading to BKK in a couple of weeks time (totally @vinapu's fault. Lol). Maybe we'll bump into each other during our Silom rounds.
From experience, masseurs prefer not to cum during a session in order not to jeopardize possible sessions that day. They may also charge extra if you ask them to. Summary
 Definitely and by far sightseeing’s  high point was Sukhotai and Kampheang Phet. Fact that my friend K decided to go with me  doubled that travel  fun. Angkor and environs were  second, because all those places I already visited in the past but Cambodian ruins have such pull on me that I can visit there to no end.
I’m glad I went to Phuket, finally I know how it is there and may return in future if only to explore gay scene bit more energetically than I did this time. I beat my cousin to James Bond Island , that counts for plenty as well.
 As for boys I did not get anybody I regretted to engage. With few some improvement could be used but there were no antics like leaving suddenly out of blue (ok there was one case but I let it go for reason explained ) . It looks that engaging tried and tested pays big time and if we meet winner it’s good to keep him close like I did with both  PP and Pattaya guys, new to me. S was great travel companion and I’m glad I had him with me in Siem Reap and by my side every few days in Bangkok. Y knows I like him and shows his appreciation every time we met. NM surprisingly showed his romantic side  and both Tawan guys I offed facilitated  steamiest nights I had in whole month.
All 7 guys mentioned above had one endearing trait, none of them asked for any extras  other than agreed. When we dined their choices were modest. I liked that . I don’t mind to open purse but don’t like to be treated as money well.
Some quotations this trip were  excessive, certainly boys are trying to cash in. With one exception I managed to keep their tips within my  budget, bargaining down when necessary. Only case I yielded  I treated as last of our many meeting in the past and can’t see repeat in the future.
 It was one upsetting  disappointment , right in the beginning, indifferent look of Jupiter guy , veteran of many offs. But I guess all comers to an end, even customer  loyalty and client’s infatuation .
And two regrets, both for lack of time . I should off that Tawan waiter at least once more. I never thought I will be regretting not offing the twink but here I am. And I did not gave a chance to two Banana Club guys ,  Vu Thy and new #31. I think I know where my first steps next trip will be.
 Now you guys can vent your frustrations with me “ who the fuck writes such long and convoluted trip reports ? Screw you vinapu!
 
 
    

Day 26
It was nice but for a price I’d say it could be better specially that in the morning AP announced that he needs to go. That was reasonable 7 am and it saved me buying him breakfast but still I’m not fan of boys saying good bye first  unless timeframe was agreed beforehand.
 After breakfast  I went to Main post office on Charoen Krung , there’s always small collector market in the corner at front of it and I wanted to check their offerings. Did not leave them  empty handed but with lighter pocket , that’s for sure. Returned by the bus I boarded randomly and which turned out passing by Wat Hualampong.
For 14.30 to Jey Spa, I had an appointment with Mavin, our first. On the picture he looked more massive but service was as good as Maii’s or Noom, my favorites there so all good.
From there to Madrid Tavern for my last pizza this trip. Then to my room for bit of quiet rest.
 For tonight  I expect S , our 8th meeting this trip and he showed up at 20.30, straight from the bus from home. Since he was hungry we went to Foodland , he made sure to pick up one of their cheapest thing on the menu, he certainly is not one set for milking farang out of every penny and then somebody may wonder how come he lands so many offs, right?
I also gave him 500 for off fee as he was supposed to work today and we returned to the room for out last night of embraces +++ this trip.

Day 25
I like guys who are not rushing things and won’t go until I let them and he sensed it very well.
We kind of overslept so breakfast was out of question , I gave him some money to buy himself something , I packed my few things and went to Jomtien bus station where I had 11.30 bus booked yesterday. When booking I had choice of 11.30 or 14.00. All buses in between were already filled up. With enough time to eat something I grabbed coffee and  a sandwich in  small place at the station.
There was some rain mid way to Bangkok. In Silom  first I went to Foodland for lunch greeted by few smiles of staff as I was away for almost week.
 Room at Bann Silom was ready , I got the same I had last week.
Not long after I had guest. N , my occasional visitor not from the scene messaged me this morning that he is free in the afternoon and can come. That is way we operate- he lets me know when he is free (or short of cash or both) and I tell him yes or no. No fuss from either side.
We had good , even  quite romantic time till 7.30 , broken with KFC treats he ordered on his way.
In the evening after he left I went for a stroll poking my head here and there , stopped at Hot Male for a drink, then went to Moonlight where I was surprised how few clients graced an audience.  
 Brave models  and floor boys still presented themselves to very few of us , only just before show crowd thickened a bit but not more than half of  seats were filled. At times I had impression there were more waiters than spectators. Hope situation improves as all in that is my favorite bar at the moment.
I was hoping Y will be there  but he did not show up or was already taken so I settled for so called second best AP whom I had already before in hard covid times. Long time no problem as he remembered me well , even hotel where we met but quoted me way more than I was willing to pay so bit firm price reduction was demanded by me before we settled on terms, lol  I think in passing that scarcity of customers may have something to do with tips expected.
 We went to Happy Beer Garden for a dinner and pleasant conversation before we went to hotel for our reunion
 

It was great to see you again Vinapu and to catch up after 1 year.
Firstly, I loved those urinal photos that you took from Phuket.  That is very original.  I guess the only things that can watch you piss are the bats and birds ?
Since you shared with us you offing sexy ARM - I can share that I offed 2 small guys that looked almost like brothers - but one was Thai and the other Cambodian (? was that correct Vinapu ?) - anyway they lived kind of near each other where only the Thai/Cambodian border separated them but they met in Pattaya in the go-go bar scene and then became good friends.  I used the usual technique - call down the first guy and see if he is cool with the second guy - which the mamsans confirmed and were elated that Vinapu and myself - we offed 3 of their best looking guys within 30 minutes ?
Were mine good ?  Yes, we got the deed done in bed but only after I fed them as they were both starving and we made a food stall stop on the way to my place.  Then after everybody's respective orgasms - they showered and left - unlike Vinapu - I love to sleep alone - as I find it difficult to sleep with one eye open.
And remember Vinapu - I want to join you one time in BKK - because since I retired here in Jomtien since September 2022, I have only been in BKK (other than the airport) 1 single time - and it was for shopping.  So, I need a Vinapu training course regarding the delights of BKK and the guys.....
But I am not complaining - as Pattaya and Jomtien keep my hands busy....

Day 24
 There was bond and dynamics and as result it was only 11 am when we went for  a breakfast to Beer Garden  in mouths of Walking Street he suggested,. Nice place with the breeze and a view of the bay.  
 I suggested he will come during day but answer was bit harsh “ I have a life, need to go to the beach and the gym”, when I mused that those are not revenue generating activities he said that he doesn’t like customers to control his life. And about the beach – he is unique among Thai boys because he has that sexy tan line outlining his briefs !
Whoa ho,  but having fresh in memory excellent time we just had together I actually liked his honesty and straightforwardness and very fact that he knows how to keep balance between income generating and fun. In short , just like me who few month ago decided to stop working fully knowing how much I will be losing in terms of money. So no, I did not take any offence, even if  he sprinkled it with musing that I’m boring, lol. No doubt guy has character and I like it.
 I did not say anything but knew already where I will be heading for my tonight’s catch.
So we parted ways, he went to have his life  and I went to have mine. ZJ , our former  member visited me at Copa for a chat , then we went to Terminal 21 for a lunch . After that   we parted ways promising to meet in the evening at Jomtien Complex. I went to Paradise Spa for massage with Wit who right away recognized me and said ‘ my Casanova is here “ . Nice to be home, he, he. Rest of day I spent lazybuming and on computer. In the evening I went to Jomtien , had a chat and a drink with one of boys in Your Place bar , then with ZJ  and Gerefan at @Home bar before returning to Dreamboys exactly at 10pm.

Day 23
 Setting alarm clock was smart as I woke up at 9.55, 5 minutes before it sounded. Yes , first thing was to grab the phone, On Grindr response from Z timed about 1 hr after I went to bed so I was already asleep. I responded right away where I am and what time I will be leaving.  On line message from Cambodian “ ??? “ send at 8.in the morning. So I asked why you did not show up? Only to get exactly the same “detailed” response .
 I left it as that, shower , packing up. I went for breakfast checking Grindr every few minutes but it was silent . At noon my taxi arrived and Z responded only when I was half way to the airport . Too late to meet unfortunately.
Today I’m flying to Utapao, airport near Pattaya. Not cheapest option but fastest as it by passes Bangkok and saves time waiting for the next bus to Pattaya at Swampy. And flight is with Bangkok Airways , it means there will be a meal and it was, very tasty at that. It took 90 minutes by turboprop. As bonus seat beside me was empty, always adds a bit of comfort. Habit of flying in the back pays again.

At Utapao there were two options of getting to the city – taxi and van offering door to door delivery for 300 baht if I recall correctly. I don’t think taxi was much more expensive but I decided to take van so van it was. We got to outskirts very fast but in Pattaya itself it was nightmare- 6 pm traffic with streets choked. I got great idea when van was dropping some guys at hotel near VC hotel I alighted and walked 10 minutes to my Copa in Boyztown certainly beating vehicle which was due to drop two other people somewhere before heading my way.
 Evert trip I try to treat myself with some luxurious digs for 2-3 nights. This time it was King suite at Copa with bedroom and living areas completely separated by the full bathroom in the middle.






 
I made myself at home , at about 8 pm. Bkkmfj from the forum showed up  and we sat down on Copa’s terrace to exchange latest and bit dated news as it was out first meet in about 1 year.
 When we got hungry we decided to snack on banana pancake in soi 13/1  for half of Phuket price and then headed to Dreamboys as this was my number 1  direction this trip. One of our member was there month ago and highly recommended #37 from there. Since he is one with taste mirroring mine there was no ifs, just go to Dreamboys. There were few attractive boys on the stage but no #37. There was #36 , very handsome , tall , well built and one who was actually dancing on the stage. So I thought my friend just mixed up number and had in mind #36 .
It was only one problem , he did not pay any attention to me, Bkkmfj even noticed he is not paying attention to anybody, just his view in the mirror on the wall. But there is cure for every malady so I used world renown and patented  solution – vinapu tuck.
 Yes, red note well placed inside of his , needs to be said, well filled briefs generated smile, this generated motion to come and sit down beside , drink offer and off. You go with me? Yes, long time ? Why not? Sealed.
It’s how I like it, I knew it will work well.
In meantime , rest assured my friend Bkkmfj find way of occupying himself with suitable company but that is his business. We left at the same time but in different directions.
 Arm,  my guy,  suggested we visit bar of his friend for a drink and I gladly agreed , it turned out that bar in in old Vassa bar location. I sensed it was right thing to do as that had a lot to talk about to an extend that friend even apologized that she is taking by guys and mine time by yakking and yakking but I had fun listening and as I said ,
I sensed it was bit more that killing time. Arm said he is her best friend and I could feel some human bond  between two. He was not shy to let me to hold his hand in plain view and it did not create any sensation among few other patrons who a gathered there in meantime. This is Pattaya after all. After hour or so we went to the room and fun started. He sensed immediately what I like and made sure I liked whom I had.

Day 22
 I woke up at 7 as at 8 I was supposed to join the tour and wanted to eat some breakfast. I found some restaurant already opened on the main street and had quite opulent breakfast for 200. Returned to hotel only to find out that van is already waiting . Since I had my day pack with me I did not even go to my room  but  got into van to find insider already family of 5 , all my compatriots. It turned out that only other family of 4 is joining us and one stop,  few more minutes later we were on the way to the pier.
But schedule is schedule so all that fast pick up meant only longer waiting for boat departure. Fortunately there were some snacks , coffee and tea available for free and beer for purchase for 60 baht so waiting was spent nicely.
Main goal for me was James Bond Island with famous and photogenic rock but first stop was rock with bat cave  . We went there on kayaks and yes , bats were there and stench was so intensive that few people almost threw out.





Than another stop at some picturesque  mid-sea rocks with another sea  kayak round. On the way to James Bond Island we were served lunch and it was filling and tasty. Throughout the cruise some drinks were free and beer was available for purchase.  




 
Surprisingly perhaps majority of ship passengers  were from Middle East with very strong Omani contingent and it was interested to see cultural differences as some of their ladies were  covered had to toe plus face but there were few who were dressed I no more than dental floss sized bathing costumes. Even more interesting , both groups interacted freely and obviously friendly. It must be Thai air dissolving prejudices.
On James Bond Island we were given some free time , island is very small but there are numerous nooks and crannies to explore plus several souvenir stall to browse.




 
 
There are toilet facilities and men’s urinals are truly ones with the view.  


After ;leaving island there were brief stop  for sea swimming by some lonely rock and as sun started to go down we returned to the illustrious shore.
By time we were delivered to Patong it was dark. Cruise  was truly enjoyable and highlight not only of Phuket part  but whole trip. And I had beaten my cousin to the Bond’s rock , seeing which is long dream of his. Life is fair, he dis not see rock, I did not see even one Bond movie.
 In hotel I refreshed myself and went to have some dinner ( you know what I had ) and ordered taxi to airport for tomorrow at the same kiosk I bought both of my tours.700 baht which seemed price posted in few other places as well.
At 10 pm I went to ZAG  welcomed by waiter of my adoration yesterday but today because it was much more crowded then yesterday he was much busier to keep me company. Not that I needed it as soon as I gulped my beer I went to Grinder and saw Z, hero of one of my pre-covid trip whom I met in Jomtien and took with me for few days to Bangkok. In covid time he disappeared from the scene and now , unmistakably it was him.  Wasted no time to send him a message and basically whole evening and night I was checking if he responded to no avail.
 At 11 as yesterday we were invited inside where I tipped 100 baht one of their models. As soon as he left scene he came to me and wasted no time to exchange Line as well as extract few drinks from me. We were supposed to meet in my hotel lobby after club closes . I left solving puzzle what happens  if Z also responds to time it will actually happen. Shortly before club closed at 2 am I went to lobby and till 3 nether Z responded nor my new Cambodian friend did show  up. So I gave up , made stroll through deserted Paradise sois, checked Grindr and Line for messages again to find nothing and went to bed but not before smartly setting alarm clock at 10.am.
Not particularly successful night but I was not disappointed nor upset , just tired.

Day 21.
 Morning air and view was quite crisp. Being good friend I went to the lobby to say goodbyes to my friend whose car was already waiting then returned to my room to pack little I have  since I won’t be returning there after the tour. My van arrived at 10.00 as promised but it took more than hour to collect all other participants from 6 or 7 hotels.      
 That is one of reasons I’m not big fan of this type of tours but my time at Phuket was short so decided to do some shortcuts. Hiring car with driver would be more expensive but also more time efficient.
As usual it was blend of tourist sights – Big Buddha, Wat Chalom and Phuket Old Town and commercial part – honey farm, cashews farm and jewelry shop plus two animal tormenting sites _ Tiger camp and elephant  camp.
 Big Buddha is impressive site with beautiful view but was very crowded, Wat Chalom newish but very colorful and old town the same like Buddha Hill , colorful but crowded.
 




 
I did not bother with neither tiger nor elephant  concentration camps , I don’t like this type of entertainment even if I’m not animal lover I don’t support enslaving and drugging them for somebody’s entertainment.
 From commercial part I like some offerings at cashews farm- they sold cashews in several different flavors, I found truffle one particularly tasty but not exactly cheap.
All in , I still enjoyed tour as it gave me some idea how Phuket looks like.
 Since I’m changing hotels I alighted in Patong’s center and walked to Paradise Complex where my hotel The Corner is located. Looked as newly built or renovated place intended to work as budget version of Royal Paradise Hotel , towels  even bear that hotel signature. I can recommend place as location is perfect , on the , you guessed it, corner of soi where ZAG and new CRUISE gay clubs are located. Aquarious hotel and sauna and massage spas are all within 100 meters or less.

As budget place had some , how to say , simplifications? No elevator, no kettle and no safety box but otherwise everything was perfect, AC was working , bed was comfortable and definitely I would stay there again.
After setting in I went to eat something, bought  cruise to James Bond Island for tomorrow and stroll soi where M to M  massage shops are located where I spotted nice looking muscular guy so enrolled him  for massage. For some reason he was in rush to finish session , in about ½ he we were done , massage , afters and stamp collection .
 Second massage in Phuket and second not so special . Too bad as guy was good looking ,  muscular, exactly of  type I like and if he took better care about business I was ready to invite him for private sessions of length of his choice.
After dark I went to ZAG  for few drinks and watch the show outside. Had  fun as on eof their waiters was kind of cruising me and I was cruising him, you know , drink here, wandering hand there. After 11 all were invited to move inside where show continued on the stage broken from time to time with models parade.

I tipped two of them  red notes and as soon as they finished their part they came to my table to thank me , I offered them drinks so more discreet and not so discreet touches but at end of day or rather night nothing materialized . Thay had other adorates as well , waiter was pretending to be  busy so at 2 am I went to hotel alone.
 Bit excited decided still to do some walking and went to Bangla Road, Patong’s main strip and I was shocked indeed to see how busy at that late time it was ,  imagine Siam BTS station at rush hour.
 It was probably 3 when I returned to the room to catch few hours of sleep.

Day 20
Of course we forgot about sunrise and parted ways quite a while  after that. Today I’m off to Phuket.  It’s my first time there. Few people mentioned that ‘ you will forget at times that you are in Thailand “ .
On another had my friend is there ( not gay)now and he swears by the place spending most of his time in Thailand there , often bypassing Bangkok entirely. So bottom line is I’m very curious. Since my said friend is there but leaving tomorrow morning I’m booking 1 night in hotel he is staying to keep appearances and tomorrow I will move to Paradise Complex.
To Don Muang by usual combination of BTS+ MRT + SRT red line, in airport smooth. Flight with Air Asia uneventful but not very comfortable due to cramped seats but at 50$  for 90 minutes flight  I’m not one to complain.
In the airport I followed signs for ‘public bus” , there called Smart Bus. There are  3 different lines with schedules well posted and mine, in direction of Patong was departing  quite soon. Left half empty by but time we reached Patong in about 1 hr it was filled to capacity.
I alighted somewhere central, not sure where as it was my first time there , later on I learned it was quite close to Bangla road and to get to hotel I took motorsai. He quoted me 150 , I as instructed by my friend counter offered 100, immediately accepted , still too much for 6 minutes ride , even if uphill but I was in no mood to haggle for another 20 baht.
Got room with quite a nice view with Royal Paradise Hotel well visible in a distance so knew immediately where in relation to gay area I’m. My friend was waiting impatiently being hungry so soon after we were climbing to nearby recommended restaurant with the view and one of best chicken with cashews I had this trip.
 Then we went downhill to central Patong to get grip of the place and as always when one is freshly arrived, curious of every corner  and another one already 14 days there who been everywhere dozen times it was basically waste of time for both of us  but at least we stopped by one of many booths selling tours and I booked  grandly named Tour of the Island  for tomorrow morning.
Listed price was 1400 but I got it for 900 without even bargaining – lady knew my friend from few tours he booked with her so gave proper price right away. Bottom line there it seems is don’t pay listed price but if you have time , bargain down and if necessary see another 1 or 3 places and see what their price will be.  There are tons of offers but it means there’s customer pocket friendly competition. Or at least it’s  what it seemed.
Seeing my friend is itching to return to hotel as he is leaving tomorrow morning and needs to pack I gladly suggested we do ,  if only , after refreshening to return to Patong for further exploration , this time alone. Of course first steps to Paradise Complex, I located my hotel I will be moving in tomorrow, Cruise club across it , big Zag club beside in the same soi.
Soi seemed full and busy then surveyed parallel soi with massage shops where one of the guys caught my eye so I enroll his services. 500 for the shop. Further compensation was discussed inside in the process already when my suggestion he can remove his clothes as it’s too hot was countered with 3000 request. Sorry I only look as first timer so told him , no,  just go on with massage. “ how much you give me ?” he still had hopes for business , “l000’ was my offer and we settled on 1500. To be honest , still too much for what I got but it’s OK, finally my first Phuket boy.
After that I treated myself with banana  pancake for 80 ( I just paid 30 few days ago  at Sukhotai for the same ) , went to see famous Bangla Road and was amazed how crowded it was that late. Certainly Patong visitors like their fun and after declining  proposals from 3 or 7 ladies of the night there I returned to hotel.
 

Day 19
 I wouldn’t say there was a lot of fireworks that night but at least I had somebody to cling too so all good in the morning. No breakfasting together as he wanted to go at 7 and I felt still sleepy.
 This morning somehow I had urge to go to Mahanakhon, I’m never tired with thrill of stepping on that glass so after breakfast at Foodland of all place I went there to enter just when they were opening at 10.00.
Admission 880 baht before 16.30, 1080 after that but seniors only 350 no matter when. It’s good to be old thought  I paying my dues after lining up behind 30 or so people. Definitely tourism picked up and gone are days in 2021 and 2022 when that early I was lone visitor for first several minutes.
View today was so, so though with bit of smog hanging on.




 
Returning to hotel I visited K in his room in Serene Silom , nice although considering price difference I like Baan Silom better  even if there’s no pool nor breakfast there .
 We resolved to check on Jey spa this afternoon so upon returning to the room across the soi  I booked Noom there for 2 pm. Their response as always was fast. We went by BTS  and entered  just before our time . Mamasan  recognized me and welcomed me with’ welcome home;  lol . Soon Noom enters the lobby and it was one of most pleasant moments of this trip as seeing me his face beamed with smile ( we had pleasure twice before ). It was not faked smile , I could see. 1250 for 1.50 session for massage , his minimum tip is 1800 but session was too good and that smile too broad to treat him with that minimum.
 After that K and I had lunch in some place in Sukhumvit soi 12 recommended by one of my friends, one of best chicken with cashews I recently had although not cheapest.
At 19.00 meet with Floridarob in Hot Male for drink ,  chat and subsequent stroll through the sois.
While walking by Tawan Mas , the twink , noticed me from distance so I parted ways with Rob for a while and went upstairs to succumb to Mas’s skills and charms. Tip 2000 and 900 for the room, not exactly cheap treat but I like Mas .
 Upon going down guys tried to stop me for a show but I had other plans as Rob and me decided to check Sol, new bar I never venture to so far. I texted K we will be there so he joined  us soon after Rob arrived at about 22.00.
When I was entering one of boys sitting outside stopped me and said “ I know you ‘ It turned out I offed him last trip from Moonlight but I was not particularly good memory as at middle of the night he asked to leave to , what else hand over the key to his roommate or something and never did. In the morning even had nerve to ask me “ how are you this morning?”.
 Soon after we sat down inside he planted himself beside, asked for drink which I agreed , if only because he remembered me with such detail and soon after got another lesson. Boy left without finishing even half of his bottle because he was booked and his customer arrived. Then I feel like old fool indeed. Second case like that this trip.
I’m not going bankrupt because of that   but clearly some  guys need tutorial of customer service.
As for Sol crowd inside was sparse which was surprising considering it was Saturday. Perhapas 10 spectators for the show total . It was too cold as AC was set too low and way too loud. There was couple who entered and few minutes after they sat down they left – I heard girl saying that it’s too loud. One would think that with few spectators they will do everything  to keep everybody in but no, waiter  just shrugged it off so those people left and nose level was as before.
 We soldiered on , I treated one best looking guy with customary red note, we liked both participants of smoke show. All in all not bad , show and boys but cold , nose and indifferent attitude shown to those complainers make me thinking how successful they will be. I wish them luck though.
Then we went to Screwboys across the soi , It was packed but somehow they found us some place in the corner. Mamasan there , only one in universe I like always remembers that I liked one of her boys nicked One , even if that was back in 2014 ( to this day I consider him best Thai boy I ever had pleasure with ) and even presented one of the current crop as his friend so I tipped guy red note for having good connections.
 We watched bit of show but at one point  I got message from S that he is free. Since earlier I arranged with him we meet tonight to see the sunrise tomorrow it was signal to go. K and I marched to Foodland with S joining us in the soi. We  had some meal and went to my room leaving  K on his way to his own.
At Foodland at the nearby table I saw Mean, rising star of Moonlight  model pack dining with some Oriental young lady. From  what I overheard he speaks quite a good English.
S as expected was excellent companion, very fitting to finish such busy and attractions filled day.

That's an improvement. When I stayed in Old Sukhotai many years ago I was shocked 😵 to discover there was no night market. So where to eat? Fortunately my nose led me to an unmarked shophouse where a lady was making takeaway meals for local customers. She cooked me something quite pleasant but clearly toned down for the Western palate. She asked how I liked it and I managed to convey that I could have handled more spices, so she immediately made a repeat order with the proper degree of heat. From starvation to very satisfactory overeating 😋 ...

Day 17 Kamphaeng Phet
 I woke up at 8 , no rush since driver was supposed to show at 9. About quarter before that we met in front on my hotel wondering if he will show up at all ( remember we paid in full) only to discover that car parked aside is one which will be taking us there.
It’s about 80 Km so it took  slightly above 1 hour to get there. There are 2 complexes of ruins – to the north of the center which we visited first and compound in the very center where beside ruins there’s  neat museum we visited as well.   Admission here is 150  to each of two parts of  ruins and 150 to museum as well.
  Equally impressive ruins  as those at Sukhotai also not coverings as  vast territory and by every mean worth of travel there even from Bangkok , ,not just from Sukhotai. Kamphaeng Phet may be good breaking point between capital and Chiang Mai as it’s exactly mid way.
Early afternoon we were back in Sukhotai , as we were hungry we wnet to eat something right away and chicken with nuts was even better than one yesterday for only 2/3 of price.
Then we went to museum in Sukhotai, quite interesting but on human scale.
Then K went for massage and I went to survey temple near hotel not even shown on the map I  got in the hotel and from there on other side of road I spotted another , also unmarked ruin so went to explore it as well, it was start darkening when I went back to the room .

At 20.00  we repeated yesterday’s routine with stroll to the center and banana pancake for supper. Returning to the hotel I thought that actually tomorrow I could start that sightseeing all over again. I have strong suspicion it was not my last trip to Sukhotai.
 
In the hotel I ordered van to the airport for our early morning flight for K and me at 350 per person.

Day 16 Sukhotai ruins
 K and I decided to start early to avoid much of heat , at least in some monuments although it needs to be said that weather was extremely co-operative during out time in Sukhotai and it did not feel lie Thailand at all. Balmy 24 – 25 , that’s all.
On another hand place is quite vast and if one needs to avoid heat is to come back to hotel and take airconditioned nap. Fortunately not necessary for us.
 There are basically three zones of sites, Central , Northern and Western, each requiring separate 100 baht ticket as well as 10 baht bicycle ticket as well. They did not charge us for bicycles at western zone.
 We had our breakfasts at 7 am and then I rented bicycle in my hotel, K opted for rental place nearby and we moved to central zone with Wat Mahatat first, son after site was opened. It needs to be said that while not overwhelmed if was quite populated by tourists , both individual and on tours.
Temples on all three zones are quite close to each other but still not adjacent so walking would be  way too demanding and cycling is ideal, Hence abundance of bicycle rental places. Some sophisticated tourists may opt for electric cart , with or without guide.
There is some shade but  a lot of ruins are in the open , there are places o the way where one can buy some drinks  but as for temple sites themselves only most popular Si Chum has proper facilities  with stores and toilets. Good news is while spread out   sites are still quite close to the city so if one feels tired , returning to hotel is fairly easy.
Some temples in the western zone require a bit of climb, definitely worth it in any case we went up.
 All in, that is very pleasant , interesting and easy ‘to do’ site and easily few days can be spend there exploring  what’s available. Some smallish temples are not even on the map I attached for day 15.
I.e. next day  we noticed that there are ruins of  temple in close vicinity to our hotels not even shown on the said map . When I went there , another ruins appeared in the trees across the road, also not on the map
I estimate we visited today about 20 and on our way to them passed by another 15 without stopping there . Around 16.00 ( remember we started at about 7.30 ) I felt dehydrated and suggested we call today’s part off to which K agreed so we pedaled back to the city where we stopped for a meal, mine of course was chicken with cashew nuts, bit spicy there and costing twice as much as in restaurant we were dining lest evening. Tourist zone , tourist prices.
 Eariler , while on the way we discussed about plan for tomorrow as we had either Kamphean Phet or Si Satchanalai. Not feasible to do both as they are in opposite directions and by the way Si Satchanalai is relatively  close to  the Sukhotai airport. We settled  on Kampheang Phet and stopped at the travel office on our way to see what price may be.
Offer was 1500 for car with driver, bit cheaper than hotel offered so we agreed right away and even broke rules and paid for it right away asking driver to be at the hotel at 9.00. Finally around 6 pm we landed back in hotels and after bit of rest went back to the city to check night market where I had 2 banana pancakes for 30 baht each. While waiting for first to be prepared  some French tourists took an interest in trying , then somebody else and it looked I made lady very busy all of the sudden. I was victim of that success as was forced to wait for 2nd one to be prepared  such was a line.
 While day was pleasant , night was even more , hell with mosquitos , geckos , cobras and lions, I decided to sleep with open patio door and as we can see , survived to tell the tale.

Day 14 -back in Thailand
Air Asia flight to Don Muang departed on time and flight was uneventful but seats were very cramped. I guess that’s the price for cheap flight. I paid 2/3 of price of ½ hr flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap.
 Immigration was breeze although approaching it I saw mob unloading from another plane so I guess it was lucky timing. SRT to Bang Sue and from there MRT to Sam Yan from where short walk to Siam Heritage on Suriwong.
 Since I’m only 1 night in Bangkok I decided to check it. Never stay there as hotel had reputation for being guest unfriendly and I’m happy to report it must be thing  of the past. No problem at all, actually now  if you have card you bypass reception are and go to the elevators directly.
Room was quite big and comfortable and furnished nicely . I liked having real desk there.





 
After setting in I went to XOne and at 4 pm on Monday I had shock , I was long line up outside , when I pulled number I realized there are 10 numbers ahead of me to be taken. But look at exchange rates cheered me and fast at that. From there to Foodland to eat something.
 At 19.30 I was supposed to meet forrestreid , that’s our first meet but we already had Line contact so it was easy. Over beer in Balcony we decided to check Banana so off we went. It was early but there were 4 guys on the stage including very handsome but never seen #31. Mamasan seeing our interest explained that he is new so as welcome treat I performed world acclaimed Vinapu Tuck on him with red note and soon after forrestreid called him over to offer him  a drink.
We know that boys and mamasans have good memory but this time even I was shocked. At one point another boy entered and mamas an told me pointing at him said “ you had him before”. I looked and recognized Vu Thy immediately but still it was at end of Jan of 2023, one year and three trips ago. And it was just only one off, short time at that and I’m not that frequent visitor to Banana as I’m at Tawan , Moonlight or Hot Male. But truth is he remembered that unless he mixed me with somebody else.
Anyways another red note changed ownership for old times sake.
In meantime , after a while forrestreid send his companion back to the stage and we walked to Tawan as planned before. Crowd there was  sparse, probably more boys than customers but shortly it started to fill up and one of newcomers was K, my friend from Taiwan who decided to accompany to for 3 days  trip to Sukhotai tomorrow . He managed to get seat on the same flight but couldn’t get room in my hotel , got place  one across the street he told me .
 Of course boys there as always  tried to extract some deserved and undeserved tips but today I decided to hold the purse’s strings prompting comment from one of the boys ‘ you always had good heart, what happened ? “ but seeing my stern face expression he rushed to exclaim ‘ you still have good heart” , what a relief !
After the show we parted ways and I went to S’s bar to see if he arrived but they told me he is not working today. Good news so I promptly fired message “are we sleeping together ?” , Confirmation came within seconds, I sent him location and told him I will be waiting in front of hotel.
While waiting some disheveled passerby stopped  asking for some money for food. I was surprised because his English was quite good . It looked he came to Bangkok looking for good luck but not necessarily got it. Gave him 100 , he was more then happy as ass soon as he said his  thank yous and left taxi stopped with S emerging all in smiles .
It was plain that he is very grateful for vacations and now for an off. Surely he expected kind of payday too as we agreed he will be paid when we return. Four nights is Siem Reap plus tonight , it was a bit, but well deserved.

Day 13.
 For today’s trip Christian PFC , famous blogger  https://christianpfc.blogspot.com/ 
who happened to be in Siem Reap at this time is joining S and me for the trip. Destination of Koh Ker and on our way back -Bang Melea.
 As before,   we departed at 8 on the dot and it’s  about  2 hrs. drive to Koh Ker. Admission 15 $.
Temple is very unusual for Angkor temples as it’s pyramid shaped and would not be out of place in Chitzen Itza or other Mayan sites. Of course we climbed it as first step, wise move as more tourists arrived.







 
After surveying pyramid and main temple underneath we surveyed about 10 smaller temples  in the surrounding forest , all accessible by the vehicle. Then returned to main temple area for a lunch  and on our way back checked another 2 or 3, last of them close to the exit Prasat Pram turned out to be second best to main temple only.
 



Then to Bang Melea. Last time I was there my time was spoiled by 2 busloads of Chinese tourist who behaved below any standards, screaming and climbing ruins even where prohibited. This time , in the afternoon , just before closing time it was much more serene and most tourists at that time  seemed to be locals.
 It used to be 5$ admission but now Bang Melea is included in Angkor ticket. Do not even try to arrive without one as guards were quite adamant to require one and even if they let you go , there’s another ticket check at main complex . Unfortunately that was our Christian’s fate but he patiently waited for s and me having driver as companion.
 Bang Melea is perhaps most atmospheric from all Angkor temples, specially if not crowded with it labyrinthine construction and deep shade from trees growing on the stones .
 




 
Back in Siem Reap I secured our driver for trip to the airport tomorrow and  three of us went for pizza to Pub street.
 
Today is my last day in Cambodia and I was proud of my budgeting. After putting aside some money for the maid in hotel and for driver for the fare tomorrow  I was left with 1$ and 1000 riels .
For said dollar I bought my last Hanuman Black and 1000 riels took home as memento.
 
As for entrainment, again  some whispers on balcony  while emptying that hanuman and another one I had in the refrigerator already.
Nosy person should ask what about S ?  Shouldn’t you give him at least that 1000 riels?  Relax , all was fixed in advance as he preferred to be  compensated in baht and in Bangkok.
 
Day 14
 
After breakfast we parted ways , S went to see his folks with plan to come to Bangkok in the evening and I at 9 jumped into car and went in style to the airport. In 45 minutes I was there, this time admitted to the departure area. Since Keithambrose already placed pictures above no need for repeat but I need to mention I notices that all signs in departure are were in English and Chinese, nothing in Khmer in their own country !
 

Day 12
 Today  we repeated yesterday’s morning routine, breakfast was quite pleasant affair as I noticed few other patrons including few young girls were following S when he was picking his food and drinks and I swear  I was object of their jealousy having landed such handsome guy in jeans showing quite a nice bulge.  Doubt anybody was thinking ‘ oh that’s is guy with his grandson” . I did not mind S sending some smiles toward those girls fully knowing who winner is, let them have it.
Today’s destination is Sambor Prey Kuk, temple complex predating Angkor with most temples made not of stone but of bricks  from 7th century on,  located near Khompong Thom , half way to Phnom Penh. It took us 3 hours to get there.
 Entry is 10$ , they suggested hiring guide for the same amount and I agreed . She even dragged with her another girl- guide in training. Having guide there is good idea as objects are dispersed in the forest , trails  are well marked but still  on you own one may miss this or that.
 







 
 
It took us about 3 hours to visit every corner, I tipped that trainee 5$ then we went to local restaurant for a meal , 16.50 $ for three, not  a bad deal .
 Again long trip home , fortunately today Saturday  traffic was quite light and it was driver suggestion we go there on Saturday as he was afraid Sunday traffic will be heavier.
At home S suggested artistic part – dinner with Apsara traditional dance show on Pub Street so we went there. I like when my travel companions have own ideas not only asking “what we are doing now ? ”. At the table beside us young farang couple was sitting and I noticed both of them were paying an attention to S presence . Bit later when we had chance meeting on the street they even said  " Hi " to him ignoring me entirely. You can't imagine how my fragile ego was hurt at that moment
I meantime S got message from his bar friend , Siem Reap native,  who came  to see his folks at home and when he show me his picture it turned out I also know him from 2 long time offs, one threesome included. So we went to see him , he was dining with another boy and somebody suggested ‘lets go check Barcode “.
I offered to finance that escapade but at the door we were sent away- today bar closed for some private function. Other two boys said they are going to bed and that was idea S and I borrowed from them so we parted ways every couple marching to different bed. I had another senior moment – why I did not suggest  “ lets go all to our room”. Knowing that friend there was chance idea would be approved. Oh well. S and me still managed to had some fun including feasting on some pistachios and fruit while sitting naked on balcony right above hotel’s pool closed at that hour.
