  1. Have any of you know what happened to Thai visa forum that became aseannow ? It seems no longer accessible. it has some good info on those wanting to move to Thailand permanently. It’s also full of trolls but do have a couple of helpful and reliable posters.
  2. Great report!! And you’re very witty. I’m definitely stealing ‘I’m a big fan of breathing’ 😂
  3. Oh, so it’s just on a limited time frame that could be extended. It is similar to the time when visa exemption was extended to 45 days. it would have been great if they did it as well again, either 45 or better yet the 90 days as initially suggested.
  4. It would really be helpful as at least in Tokyo, they’ve suspended selling the stored value cards due to supply chain issue on electronic chips. These IC is extremely convenient for the metro and for purchases.
  5. Just to correct you, there’s absolutely no suggestion about back to back re-entering in what I said. There’s actually no suggestion at all. It was just about the difference between visa on arrival and visa exempt. I suggest you re read my innocuous post. Or perhaps, don’t bother, neither would I ever with you 😂
  6. This would be excellent even if I won’t count on it. There was recently the 45 day visa exempt post Covid and they didn’t even extended it. Anyway, personally, this is a perfect solution for me as I decided to pre retire elsewhere in Asia while frequently visiting Thailand. I was looking for a way to spend 2-3 months for a couple of times and there are no easy solution except perhaps the 60 day outright visa. the retirement extension O A was the best option until they imposed an insurance requirements among other things. in any case, I’ll just go for frequent <30 days travel for now. I’m also visiting a lot of other Asian countries so it is fine as it is. However, in the future, my heart is set on just going to Thailand and Japan. Ironically, Japan gives me 90 day stay on each arrival. However, it’s economically unfeasible for me to stay there that long. If only I can flip the rules of the 2 countries 😂
  7. Just to be pedantic, sorry. A lot of western and neighboring Asian countries do not need visa on arrival In Thailand. It is 14-90 days visa exempt. Most gets the 30 days as I suppose it’s due to a bilateral agreement with each of them. Notable countries needing visa on arrival are China and India. They immediately pay some fees coming to Thailand. Some of the lucky countries getting 90 days visa exempt are South Korea, Brazil and Argentina.
  8. Or Hong Kong. Just came back and Japanese hotels seems even bigger
  9. I’ve seen young Asian groups in Jupiter and moonlight. They can just go on in the runway and strut their stuff with the other boys. I’d take most of them too. Cute as hell 😂
  10. I’ve seen YouTube shorts interview of gay lads Interviewer: are you a Twink? guy: oh no, not anymore. I’m already 25. interviewer: oh so where do you go from here? A cub? guy: (flippantly) I dunno, maybe I’ll go to Italy anyway, is twink age bound as well? 😂
  11. Thanks for the article, reader. I was hoping for a better news but not surprised if it will not be extended. Agree with the article, they might not really need this anymore as the tourists are back, and due to the coming elections. I’m going for a year of sabbatical or perhaps pre retirement and the 45 day visa would have been very convenient.
  12. Thanks for the info. I hope they extend this to the end of the year. if they extend on April, I really doubt they’ll just extend it one month so here’s hoping.
  13. Hello, has anyone got info if 45 visa exempt will be extended after March? Thanks
  14. BTS and all other interconnected mass transport options are excellent alternative transport. Fast, relatively cheap, and not as crowded. Those who’ve ever tried mass transport in manila or Delhi would know how riding one could be intimidating. Has any of you remember Bangkok pre-BTS/MRT? It’s actually prettier with wide roads and no blocked views. Bus 76 and 77 are a staple.
  15. A bit off topic. Duck confit/confit de canard is my absolute favorite French dish. I’d go to southwest France only to eat this, and cassoulet at other times 😀
  16. I was really hoping for a better turnout but it is what it is. It was a calculated risk and we’ve seen a nicer result in most of Vinapu’s adventures so we’ll just wait for the better stories I’m sure will come out.
  17. Wish I am going there tomorrow. It was between Bangkok and Tokyo, but ultimately had to take advantage of a weak yen before it all goes up. but really would have preferred BKK, as I still crave for warmer temperature.
  18. We got 2 naked sightings now. I saw a guy who exercised in the nude in the small gym, then lounged in the pool area afterwards. And agree, it would really be great if it becomes popular to sunbathe nude anywhere in Thailand.
  19. My go to winter vacation has always been Thailand. However, last year when there were still so many rules, and closures in most of Asia, I kinda looked for the easiest to go to, with warmest EU enclave accessible from the continent. I learned about Gran Canaria and the gay lifestyle here. I’m back this year as I was looking at airfares to Thailand and it was still way over the norm. it’s still a fun place here in maspalomas, and what you mentioned still holds true. Btw, kiosk 7 bar and transats were closed last year even if there are a lot of bathers in the area. it is open now, so quite back to normal now. Lots of eye candies, then and now. Also, the gay exclusive bungalows is so nice where you can hang everything out 😂 However, I love Asian lads so, definitely coming this year to Thailand again.
  20. I am currently in maspalomas. There is still the gay beach area, kiosk 7. A long way to go. I’m in a gay resort where 90 % are naked around the pool so much better and convenient. btw, I just had one time saw a fully nude guy in sansuk pool side. A westerner, obviously. I just wish there’s some similar gay exclusive resort that allows nudity in Thailand.
  21. It is a good source of information, including information on day to day lives like long term rent, etc.
  22. I stayed in their accommodation before. It is a relaxing stay. the breakfast is nice early in the morning facing the pool/garden. added bonus is that the sauna is included in the stay. It isn’t that far from boystown.
  23. I’m Asian living my dream of staying somewhere in Europe. I extensively traveled the continent and beyond. Recent years before Covid, I just keep on coming back to Asia particularly Thailand and Japan, other favorites are Taiwan and South Korea. When I was younger, I thought I’d never retire in Asia. However it most likely be where I will retire. Most likely In Thailand or my home country. I’m doing a sabbatical break next year for a trial retirement and if I like it, I’ll just continue it. Just turned 50 so the retirement extension of stay in Thailand is possible now. Staying at home country though, has the advantage of finding work easily if I like to do so. apart from family and friends I have there. Oh, and I never liked winter season and even if I like to do early retirement say in Spain, it is quite costly as my preference would be Barcelona.
  24. Copy paste the the trip part. Never stayed longer than 2 weeks in either country. 1 month in Thailand, 3 weeks Japan (separate trips) even better if I can do 2 months in Thailand and 1 month in Japan. I’m doing sabbatical leave next year 😀
