You could also luck out (sarcasm) on a boy that is from out of town that conveniently overstays his welcome at your place because he either doesn't have a hotel booked for the night or he doesn't want to travel far to his accommodations on the outskirts of the city. You think it's cool at first that you have this hunk in your bed, but you eventually realize you can't get rid of him. Sure, after overstaying the sex is now free, but your still on the hook for meals and maybe a little extra if he's low on cash. But soon you realize that this guy is hitting you up everyday to hangout in a way to discourage you from seeing other guys. His thinking is, if your with me there's no need to have sex with anyone else and spend all your cash on me. These are the guys that go to the sauna and ignore all the clients because at the end of the night they know they are going home with you. Additionally, other GPs won't approach you because this guy will give them shit if they do. This is one reason you see some GPs spend all night with one client. These guys pay little attention to the other clients because they have a client as their guaranteed meal ticket. Why would the boy chance going with another client if he knows that he's been with that guy before and he knows his kinks, fetishes, and he isn't treated like trash and is well compensated. That guy knows he could probably hustle and get 3 or 4 (huge maybe) clients and possibly make more money, but why work so hard if you can get one client that gives enough to be comfortable. When I had GPs spend days on end with me it usually starts off with them overstaying and inviting themselves to things I was going to do. I certainly didn't pay them for that time and I imagine it is the same way with the other clients as well. They have clients they either like to spend time with more or that they think are more lucrative over the long-term. Sometimes it's a slow night and that client seems like the best option to get paid so they stick with that client hoping for that payday.

So I know how much the boys are in the sauna to go to a room.
But sometimes I see clients with boys all night, or for certainly a few hours, drinking, kissing, playing. How does this arrangement work?  How much to just have boy for companionship in the sauna?

In Barcelona Sauna Thermas:
50 EUR = 58 USD- 311 BRL (today’s conversion rates) 
in Rio’s 117 / 202 and São Paulo’s  Lagoa (high-end prices, using Tomcal’s high-end price example):
250 BRL = 40 EUR = 47 USD
Both are programas for 30 minutes.
I don’t see how you arrived at the conclusion that Brazil’s prices are higher than Barcelona’s. 
Also, I can’t speak for @Tomcal but in my examples, I stated mine were “some muscle boys”. I wasn’t referring to any other types. My experience has been that certain guys (those in higher demand, or those who just perceive themselves to be) will charge a higher rate. Muscle boys / gogo boys tend to do this (universally, not just in Brazil), while the ”guy next door” types or twinks tend to command lower rates (why prices are cheaper at certain saunas over others). I’m not saying ALL do this, but a whole lot of them do. You can still get a number of them for 150 reais at the sauna. 100 would be a stretch and highly uncommon. 
The same kinds of guys (not necessarily the very same ones) are asking for upwards of 250 reais an hour in ads for an incall, more for an outcall (plus Uber costs), with most in the 300-350 reais range. I’ve seen some that are higher, but only one or two that are less than 250. 
Again, “guys next door”, slim guys and twinks tend to run less than the muscle guys, bodybuilders, athletes and fitness / physique models or real life fashion / print models. Maybe sometimes a porn guy who thinks he’s a star will elevate his rates too. That’s just the nature of the beast and that’s a universal law worldwide, not just a Brazil thing. 
Tourists are still coming to Rio and São Paulo during the pandemic. there are just less of them. 
 
 
 
 

This has happened to me numerous times and I'm as bewildered as anybody. Most recently this year in Rio, a god of a bodybuilder (easily the hottest guy on the low-attendance nights) completely ignored me, even brazenly walking away or pushing me away. And then one night I bagged him. I wanted to worship his bod and was expecting a disappointing interaction, but he turned out to be pretty good. He said he had 6 other dates that night. That made me feel real special, but I didn't ask why he was so aloof before.
Another guy, also from this year's trip, seemed bound to another garoto and a client and would not reciprocate my obvious interest. Perhaps he was a newbie being trained by a veteran (a not uncommon scenario).
I guess my answer is that it's nothing personal and just random logistical issues. However, the next time, I will ask whether he is in recovery mode. I actually like huge cocks that are flaccid, which rentboys find to be weird.

I’ll try to answer your questions since they don’t seem to be directly addressed here.
Some GPs are at the saunas on pre-determined dates with clients. Most often, you will spot these GPs in one of the bar areas, sharing a drink or two or sometimes a bite to eat with a client — and most often, either or both are fully dressed. The kicker is if the GP is not available to speak to other clients before / during / soon after that pre-arranged date (understandably, most clients aren’t going to like it very much if their pay date is using his paid time to book another date). So, if that GP that you hooked up with turned out to be available, most likely either his client date had already left (or cum and gone) or it was just a non-sexual date and he got paid for his time (yes, this is more common than you might think). 
There could be several reasons why a GP’s dick doesn’t get hard. It doesn’t necessarily mean he already ejaculated with a previous client. Most GPs will stop working for the night once they do cum, so I doubt that was this guy’s reason. Maybe at that moment, he just couldn’t get aroused. It’s hard to believe sometimes, but garotos are human, not machines.

So, I don't understand this. There are some GPs who just sit and talk with pariticular client(s), and don't even look around and check if there are other interested clients.  Am I correct to assume that this GP has already sold his gozada for the day, and is just relaxing with the client and a drink?  I said this because I had the experience where I am interested in a GP at Lagoa, but he was chatting and drink with a customer.  I kept looking at him, he eventually came over, we went to the room, he was personable and playful, but couldn't get hard.  So I just pay him R100 and called it quit.  From then on, I would not hire any GP who was not actively cruising for customers.  In retrospect, I probably should have been direct with any GP and asked if he had sold his gozada for the day before I hire him.

i just got back 2 weeks ago and i decided to go back the 8th of December  for a week!  the reason being i won’t be able to go the last half of December, January or February and March is 3 months away!  Plus i had such a great time this last trip i talked myself into a quick trip back! (plus i met one particular guy i wanted to confirm he was as hot as i remember! 🤣
i am also staying in Copacabana for the first time in 12 years. i found a  great apartment at a even greater price! My first 10 years i stayed only in Copa and the last 12 years i have only stayed in Ipanema(and is still my favorite) i have only stayed in Airbnbs since 2010 and definitely prefer them to hotels!
