  1. My first birthday in Pattaya is upcoming. Any suggestions? Any great memories?
  2. I do not remember the place being that crowded, but I had some good times there....
  3. If it is 4+ hours, I know I am going have to go to the bathroom. I assume there were toilets available, but no one wanted to get out of line?
  4. I will be in Thailand on the 23rd. I demand that you guys get this shit straightened out!!!!
  5. 1. Glad it was the botany professor and not the wrestling coach. 2. I have never read any advice to foreigners about prostrating themselves before a statue. 3. Did he really use the word "motherfucker" or is there a direct Thai equivalent?
  6. Gentlemen, have they really got the jet-ski scam resolved? I love jet-skis but have avoided them for decades because of this very issue.
  7. Looks like I got lucky this year---my three JFK-BKK trips are Premium Economy for under $1100 on China Airlines. Looking ahead to next year, it seems that it will be at least $1500 to as much as $2000 for the same service. For now at least, I am a SkyTeam captive, so I do not want to go EVA. I am 6' 3", so I really do not want to fly coach on any airline, especially on a 16-hour JFK-Taipei flight. The legroom is terrible for me. Has anyone flown long-haul coach on a ten-abreast 777?
  8. Moses, This place near Tui's looks nice, but when I search for it, it shows up as several sois down the beach (maybe 0.5 km away). Could you please check the name? Thanks.
  9. You must have had some very bad luck. I have stayed at Zing on my last two visits with no problem.
  10. Oh this cartoon is a hoot!! For those who don't follow American football... The bird represents the Atlanta Falcons football team. It is a dig at their arch-rivals, the New Orleans Saints, and their fans, staggering through their party district. Some number of years ago, the Saints fell on such hard times that their own fans would show up at the games wearing sacks over their heads and refer to the team as the "aint's". Let the record show that I grew up a Falcon fan.
  11. Like so many others, I was hesitant to go upstairs or anywhere else with these guys as I fully expected to meet the Thai branch of the Corlione family. I guess I will have to give them a try....
  12. In my case, the Grim Reaper's scythe is probably made of a diabetic alloy. It really runs in my mother's family. After gaining 75 pounds after leaving the navy, my doctor laid down the law. I lost 35 pounds, which not only took care of the diabetic indications but dropped my blood pressure too. Like a447a, I was slim all my life, so gaining some weight was no problem. Mercifully, I have never been a smoker. I rarely drink at home and there is no bar with walking distance, so I seldom have more than two drinks when I am out. Only in Thailand do I drink too much. Exercise these days is pretty much limited to the golf course--I walk when feasible rather than use a golf cart. I used Subway as a good place to eat to keep the pounds off in Pattaya.
  13. I second Vinapu's suggestion on the Ayuthaya trip.
  14. I do not remember what was being celebrated, but I have seen some parades in Manila where the guys were wearing a lot less than in these pictures :p
  15. I have read that a part of the problem is that women have less disposable income than men. I also believe that they simply 'cruise' less than men. Anecdotal evidence says that they fight more than men do. Seems true in my city. The last time I went to Provincetown was maybe eight years ago. It was Memorial Day Weekend (a holiday to honor fallen military members), so it was a three day weekend with the third day on Monday. We did not know that this was the unofficial Women's Weekend. By 6:00 PM Friday, there were already twelve women in jail for fighting.
  16. United has now said they will never ask seated passengers to give up their seats for transferring crew members. I still can not believe they could not get enough passengers to give up their seats willingly. About 11 years ago I was on a United flight and they announced that they were badly overbooked and had to get some passengers to Chicago to catch their international flight. I volunteered and got a first class flight later that day and two free tickets anywhere in the 48 states. That turned into a free flight cross-country to California with my partner at the time. Unless I am connecting to an overseas flight or catching a cruise ship, I will always volunteer.
  17. In the home stretch now.... A couple of nights later went to Sunee. Saw my buddy at Double Shot, then went to the bar opposite Winner. Got to know the two I was interested in on the previous visit---and got an evil look from Pek's friend. For no concrete reason, I was worried about drug use with the two guys. One was just too cute to not be getting offed regularly and the other described himself as an alcoholic. I made my good-byes and left. Down to Euroboys and there he was (I will call him Tan). So near the end of my visit. Not only was he drinking with another customer at the time but I got no warm vibes from him at all. Finally the customer left and I did get to meet this friendly twenty-year old. He was from Cambodia as were several of the boys there. It was quite late so I told him I would be back the next night. I did indeed see him the next night and off we went. He wanted to see the drag show at the place in Boystown with the glass water tank. After that we went to BBB. After another drag show, the boys came out. As far as I know, the sexy show starts at 1:00 AM. I saw the drummer boy for the first time. Tan and I finally went home---my goodness, he came enough to raise the level of the Mekong River. When I went to Sunee the next night Tan was not there and the whole area looked deserted. Tan told me later that there was a police sweep and the Cambodians had to stay away until it was over. So I chatted with my friends across from Winner and finally Tan showed up. I did not off him that night. Next night I was hit by a bit of a447. I went with my first off from Big Kiss for the third time of my visit and then off to pick up Tan for an evening of fun. He is from Phnom Penh and has never been to Angkor Wat---it might be fun for both of us on the next trip. I have his contact info. He is going back to Cambodia for about three months---possibly as I type this---to get a passport, which will help him in any future dealings with the authorities in Pattaya. Next night, a little bar-hopping, saw Tan again, but did not off him. Leaving Euroboys, I stopped in the gogo bar on Sol 17 furthest from Second Road and Cupid's arrow struck again (call him Jo)---now I am feeling guilty. I had stopped in the place as much to cool off as to oogle the boys. One kept giving me the eye from the stage so I invited him over. Great-looking fair-skinned (more on that later) guy and really friendly. I did not off him because it was late and I did not want to bump into Tan outside. Now my last night in Pattaya I did off Jo and we had a really great time---my last fucking night . Not only the sex, but he was just plain fun to be with. He has gotten through at least twelve years of schooling and is working to improve his English. He was born and raised in Bangkok. I will keep in touch with him; we will see how it works out. Tan is light-brown skinned and said that he is going to use skin-lightener while in Cambodia. He also said he wants to reshape his "ASEAN" looking nose. I hope he does not go full Michael Jackson. Meanwhile I saw Jo rubbing something on his face/cheeks, I asked him about it and he said it was to make him look a bit darker. When he sees people with brownish skin and pale white faces due to whatever ointments, he thinks it is "crazy"--his word. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
  18. Now up to 3/8 and staying at East Suites, third floor. On the one hand the steps are a pain, but I need the exercise. The safe is big enough for the laptop I did not bring, but there is nothing that can pass for a desk in the room. I will think about this next time. Took a tall, light skinned boy from Big Kiss---same bar as the first off (he had a customer and gave me permission to off this one). Definitely a good top!! After a night of rest, took a Jomtien boy who had been after me since day one (I will call him Pek). He worked at one of the bars off the main strip. He was definitely gay and looking for something long-term. He was nice but I do not think he would be the answer for me. He is 30 years old and I wonder if he feels Father Time creeping up on him for the bar business. Interesting to me is that he did three years in the army and worked at Big C for a while. Against my better judgement I went to Cupidol the next night and really enjoyed it. Bar and bathroom were spotless, a/c was good, a variety of scantily-clad boys, and the mamasan knew I did not come there to see her. In Pattaya, what more can you ask for? After Cupidol, ended up at Oscar's. I had a nice chat a with a German gentleman who some years ago owned one of the boy bars in Boystown. If I remember correctly he said he had to pay about B10,000/month in tea money which made the whole enterprise, though profitable, not worth the all of the aggravation. While there, a German guy absolutely blew his top on the bar staff at Oscar's. It went on for about 20 minutes. I was surprised that the Thais remained so calm during the whole affair. It turned out that argument was about the bar bill his Thai boy alledgedly ran up without his knowledge. The whole amount in question? 120 baht. I am not going halfway around the world to have a stroke over 120 baht---holy shit.... Next night, Pek again. We went to a birthday party at one of the Jomtien main strip and later on, another one at a bar directly across the soi from Winner Boys. We had to walk the whole length of Jomtien Plaza and I was amazed at how many other boys Pek knew. In fact, he wanted a drink at Big Kiss on the way to Sunee. I saw no butterflies in Pattaya---I am sure they have been killed off by the Bamboo Telegraph....now how do I get to know the two guys that caught my eye at the place across from Winner Boys where Pek's friend works?
  19. I am back home now---the updates stopped due to lack of internet access. My body is telling me in a loud voice that I am not 35 anymore. I have slept alone some nights (in Pattaya) which would have been unthinkable once upon a time. Anyway. I made my choice of the app boys and he did not show up, so I had round two with the first boy I met (Mek). Good again. In fact , so good that I have no notes for the next three nights. Probably had a Cambodian boy from Jomtien one of these nights---ok, but too mechanical. Off to Eros and bought a bottle of whisky for B1000. Got to really meet most of the boys and I probably would have spent at least that much barhopping in Boystown. Met one that I had been trying to meet on prior visits---unfortunately for me he was reporting to the army the next day. He was far more articulate than I expected. He has no intention of returning to the bar business after he gets out in two years. He said that the government will provide him some degree of aid to further his education after he completes his service and he fully intends to use it. I thought only the US did that. I can only wish him well.
  20. Remember the comic strip, "They'll do it every time" ? After no luck on the apps for a week, four guys wanted to come over last night. I am working my way down the list.
  21. Off to Sunee last night---some of my Jomtien Plaza acquaintances are getting too clingy and the mamasans are driving me nuts in Boyztown. Met a nice guy from Ting Tong of all places. He is half Lao and half Filipino. (How the blazes did they meet?) Due to his parent's divorce early on, he has to struggle to speak to his mom in English since he grew up in Laos with his father. He speaks almost none of her Filipino language. And we piss and moan about lack of legroom on a quick trip halfway around the world!! As I type this, he is still asleep in the room. There is absolutely nothing to steal unless he breaks out the burglar tools for the safe and wall TV. From what I saw of Sunee last night, do not give up on the old girl yet. Winner Boys should do OK as long as they keep luscious fruit in the orchard.
  22. Thanks for all of the likes---I am going to have to step up my game!! No offs last night either; I may be getting too picky. The boy I wanted to off was not at the bar. He mentioned going to Bangkok to stop by his parents.. Something probably got lost in translation.
  23. Okay Badboy, you are going to miss Songkran, so we can skip all those warnings. Since this is your first time, you might just want to play Joe Tourist and see the Temples, etc. One tour I took included a boat ride from Ayutthya (I believe; it has been a long time) back to Bangkok. It was beautiful. For the rest, just clarify what you want from the boy before taking him out of the bar. There is a soi off of Silom road (Telephone Bar is there) that you definitely want to explore for a possible non-commercial hook-up.
  24. Once in Bangkok I bumped into an old Thai friend I had met in Pattaya. He was with three of his friends. After dinner, we went to my friend's place, and what a night it was !! I may have paid for dinner, but other than that,it was on the house. The other memory from that night is that one dish they ordered was so hot that none of them could eat it.
