  1. I usually prefer short time rather then overnight, but I suppose that depends on where you are staying - not so important in Boys Town but if you are in Jomtien and having your adventures at (on?) Poseidon then there's got to be a morning after, at least according to some, even it does turn into a disaster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcLazPauA1c bkkguy
  2. surely that would have the be nahm-chuck, or is this s clever mix of Thai and English - WOW, nahm! in Afghanistan after "flying" the kite someone will offer to "run" the kite for you - which sometimes leads to some unexpected action, but if your adopted father offers to do this for you then you are entitled to be a little reticent but it is OK, it is just the way to be good again! bkkguy
  3. it's not a sonnet, it's not a haiku, it's not iambic pentameter ... but it is still quite poetic in its own way bkkguy
  4. he obviously transferred his tax liability from Spain to Thailand when he moved here on a NON-IMM B visa with a work permit ... no wait, he said he was here on a tourist visa .... maybe he is better off not answering that question, particularly if he has already, or intends to, include his account here in his social media profile as requested by the local Immigration Police! but I am sure if he has been doing affiliate marketing for adult web sites for 8 years he already knows which end is up, or at least who is up which end and aren't we supposed to be not sucking up to the trolls? bkkguy
  5. have you searched the condo thoroughly? perhaps the maid or a visitor saw this unpleasant looking thing and decided to sweep it under the carpet so everyone could avoid all the embarrassment by just pretending that it wasn't really there bkkguy
  6. the bottom line is most of the immigration and other officials, like most of the boys in the bar, are tops so they would prefer the visiting falung just lay back and think of home while they get screwed bkkguy
  7. "It was not immediately clear when the plan would be implemented" but that is probably not the only reason many here may not be interested! http://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/business/2016/11/22/govt-approves-10-year-visas-foreigners-50/ bkkguy
  8. It is all a bit academic anyway, the number of stalls operating in "no-stalls Silom" is increasing every day, and particularly every night - on shop windowsills, entry stairs, under overhead shop awnings, etc. while I am sure neither the building owner nor the BMA could easily prove the demarcation line between private and public space I am surprised venues like Sunrise Tacos consider their business image is enhanced by their window space hosting a stall selling sex aids or 7/11 does not cares that 50% of their entrance stairs are obstructed by stalls - or are they the ones collecting "rent" rather then the BMA? bkkguy
  9. one should hardly be described as "encroaching" when one is walking in a designated pedestrian space like a sidewalk or footpath! bkkguy
  10. and clipboard loggers are so difficult to install while you are there installing the keystroke logger? given you have been able to get the search warrant so easily! perhaps Shonen could chime in here and let us know if any of the "expert" posts here have actually helped him make an informed decision about taking his iPad to Thailand bkkguy
  11. I agree with Crutchly (Bangkok Post) - Christmas in Thailand is always little yellow faces in red costumes singing "Jinger Ben" from my first trip to Chiang Mai too many years ago I remember being in host bars surrounded by puppy dog faces looking up adoringly singling along to (but getting the words wrong) I will be right here waiting for you! the Thai language songs I remember from then are anything by Hum (a CM indie band from long ago) , Kep Tawan and Tor Ai Nuk Wa Arrai (sp? Why do you behave like this) and an edgy Thai/Eng number I hate myself for f*ck wit u to the tune of I hate myself for loving you! bkkguy
  12. so you know what a "can of worms" is - if not google it, then given our two junior lawyers' penchant for quoting the US Constitution the leap to understanding a "constitutional can of worms" is not that great; then to protect our pictures on our mobile devices we could use for example a password or on newer devices a fingerprint and thus could be asked by the authorities to "unlock" out data using these, but while the constitutional "right to remain silent" is generally agreed to apply to a request to supply a password - a "testimonial communication" (google it) - it is still debatable (and it is a mass debate) if it applies to a request to supply a fingerprint (google it) clear as mud (google it)? and steveboy the truecrypt claim of "plausible deniability" (google it) applied to a truecrypt container within a truecrypt container not to a truecypt container itself, and given the truecrypt canary incident (google it) why haven't you switched to veracrypt (google it)? bkkguy (google it - or ask pong)
  13. given the already high level of conflicting information posted here I suppose we should not open the unlock by fingerprint v's unlock by password "testimonial communication" constitutional can of worms here when seeking to find a simple solution to how to protect our data! bkkguy
  14. in computer support parlance this is the class of errors generally known as PEBKAC though sometimes also reported as ID-10-T errors bkkguy
  15. I am always both amused and horrified by threads like this on forums like this and wonder why the original poster bothered starting the thread - if you are not technically competent enough to answer the original question yourself in the first place then you are probably not technically competent enough to separate the bullshit from the useful responses as the old saying goes free advice is worth every penny you pay for it, and forums like this are full of "experts" however while making holiday decisions based on dubious advice about a hotel or bar may be an inconvenience on more complex issues the results may be more significant so consider carefully the source of the advice being given! bkkguy
  16. the phrases "Bangkok's "tessakit" officers" and "enforcing these rules" usually only occur together in a sentence with a couple of other key words! bkkguy
  17. missing comma? sorry, I know it is bad manners to pick up on minor points of grammar or punctuation but if we are going to help this poor desperate lad we really need to be clear about his work aspirations! bkkguy
  18. but you do know the source you got it from even if you don't know the original source so mention that rather than try to pass off as your own bkkguy
  19. I am sure the original author and publisher thought so too that's why they put in the research effort rather than just copy/paste from someone else - obviously Moses has a different interpretation of Khaosod's claim to copyright than I do bkkguy
  20. I heard it was a large group of Malaysians that had invested in an agricultural development in Thailand who had stayed at Tarntawan Place under the old management a few times a year for the last few years and had another booking in a few months, so at least it seems some things haven't changed! Maybe they just used to have breakfast earlier before - like the Japanese golfers! the old Tarntawan was always a fairly broad church even if we only remember the nice smile our boy du jour used to get from the staff was the fried rice good? bkkguy
  21. missing verb? was that supposed to be "is going to get..."? bkkguy
  22. while you are on Google do a quick search on Thailand scams and there will be more than enough of them reported there for you - or are we limiting this to just scams within the gay scene? or maybe the participants here are just not particularly into renting jet skis, etc "buffalo me die send money" and repeated motocy accidents involving various relatives are not just lies they are scams and they do still occur with ever more modern variations and people do still fall for them even if you with your infinite wisdom and worldly ways never experience them in the among the superior quality of pickup you favor while many baht bus drivers and most meter taxi drivers in Pattaya are a rip-off if not a scam most of the taxi and tuk-tuk drivers around tourist areas in Bangkok are scammers with their "grand palace closed", "no meter after 6:00PM" etc just because many of these scams are avoidable and you personally don't experience them does not mean they don't exist or that you have to be a naive gutter-dwelling sex tourist to get sucked in! also the opening post said "I thought it might be an idea to share our scam stories here, so people can recognise & avoid them" so perhaps we can get over pedantic definitions of what is and is not a scam and focus on unpleasant things to be aware of and to avoid! bkkguy
  23. golf buggy 1,299 Bht but only as an option added to their fast track service for 1,200 Bht (1,050 Bht if you also book a limo with them) Bangkok Airport Limousine bkkguy
  24. but what is your point? surely you are not suggesting this is justification for doing nothing about the social consequences of the abject failure of the war on drugs in Thailand and most other countries? given the choice between governments and societies playing "wack-a-mole" with new criminal activities as they develop or sitting on their hands and doing nothing about the current problems with drugs, corruption, etc, because the criminals "need their steady income" I know which side I would come down on! bkkguy
  25. old joke about the tourist in a restaurant in Madrid, a local at the table next to him orders the "special" and is served two huge balls on a plate. the tourist ask the waiter about the dish and he explains the restaurant is next to the bullfighting arena and these are the testicles of the bull killed in the ring today. the tourist orders the same dish but the waiter explains there is only one fight per day so he comes back the next day and orders the special but is disappointed to get only two very small balls served. the waiter explains "Sometimes the matador wins, sometimes..." bkkguy
